" Hunting And Battlefield "
The room was in front of me. The only place and class where all the pillars are present. This was an essential setting in Sense as most arcs would start in this room. Well, It is an important class that almost every single combatant guardian has. It teaches all about Survival on a battlefield and also knowledge on Inters and how to hunt them. Due to this, its activities all revolve around practical experience and most of these interesting yet dangerous events happen outside the safe space of Sense.
Regardless, this was the place I know best so it was not even a question of where I should go. I have these insights about the future and not using them will just be stupid.
It was not rowdy inside, but I can see through the window of the door, that almost everyone inside was already present.
With that being said, I didn't hesitate to open the door and enter the class.
Hmmm? As I enter the room, I somehow managed to catch the attention of every single student in the class.
" Isn't he that Wanderer who killed a Grand Inter? "
" Yeah, he's insanely lucky for that. "
" My mom was asking me if he was my classmate due to his appearance in the local news. "
Deja vu?
" Is there anything I could do to help you? " An old man about the age of sixty years old asks me as I enter the door.
This is the professor of this class, Mr. Hew. He hasn't shown much in the story as his purpose was to announce activities for this class. All I know is he was a strong veteran from the battlefield, thus earning him the position to teach the students of Sense.
" Everyone in my records has already been accounted for, so I think you might be lost, young man. "
" Uh, I was told to go to any class I want to for today, as my schedule changed earlier today. " I quickly explained, as he looked like he started to get annoyed.
" A change in schedule at this time? " He looks at me like I was spouting some nonsense.
" In all my years in this school, That level of incompetence from the staff hasn't happened... until today. Wait, are you perhaps that Wanderer with an ability? " He seems to have realized who I was as he starts to examine my physical features.
!
" Wait, what? " A sudden commotion erupted among the students.
Even the Pillars who seemed uninterested in my achievements, looked at me like I was some sort of alien.
" Yes sir, I'm Mon Weise. " I say with a smile.
" Hmmm, I see. So I guess you're interested in my class then? " He says while looking at me with a curious look. Maybe because I was a unique existence, but regardless I wanted to be in this class for the sheer purpose of knowledge and also connections.
" Yes sir. " I say firmly.
" Since I don't have any experience in the battlefield except that Grand Inter encounters, so I'm going to need this class more than every other kid here. " Though it seemed like an excuse, it was actually a fact as most students revolving around the main plot, were all a part of 1A up to 1C, elites among the thousands of first years. They are all people with combat and battlefield backgrounds, something I don't have.
Yes, I'm confident in my abilities, but I can't just learn stuff magically without actually practicing.
" Alright, then. Ambition is good I guess. But be careful with what you do, and who you talk to. " He says with a calm voice signing me to go take a seat.
I'm not sure if I'm reading too much into his words, but his tone and choice of words were clearly pointing to that incident earlier with the brothers while trying to warn me about the students here as he seemed to have realized what my intentions were.
" Thank you, sir. " I say as I walk towards an empty seat.
It's quite surreal. Damn, I can't believe I''m living on something that existed in fiction. I'm going to need to form connections with these people, as they are bound for greatness. In any case, if I fail or need some help, who is more competent than the main characters of this world? Besides I know and like them well enough than any other people here.
All of the pillars are here, and most people in this class were either students of 1A or 1C. There are only about five 1B students, excluding men, and Jian is one of them. His left cheek was covered with a bandage, which I'm guessing is from when I stepped on him.
Wasn't he brought to the medical ward? I mean they probably just ignored him as that type of injury isn't something you should even care about.
I managed to reach the empty seat, which was unfortunately.... just behind Leon, a main character in the story and also the second pillar. He is the heir of the Airy Guild and is famous not only in Sector 7 but also the entire world for not only his amazing looks but also his incredible talent and strength with his impossibly rare dual ability.
I should be glad, as this was a chance to talk to him and make acquaintances, but despite his friendly front, he was the most cunning and I guess strategic character in the main story so it was a little uncomfortable to sit close to him. He was a tad bit unpredictable which is most in common with me so I wasn't sure if I could perform well while being so low level...
Regardless, he only has curiosity towards me as of this moment so I shouldn't care much.
" Alright, I wouldn't ask you to introduce yourself to class, as I'm sure everyone knows you already, and that's about everything you can remember as well. "
He let out a small joke, lifting up the atmosphere a bit, all while removing the gossip flowing around.
" As you all know, this is a place where you learn all about survival and hunting on the ever-deadly battlefield. This is basically the place, where you're going to learn how to be an actual guardian. "
His joking demeanor immediately vanished, changing to something more serious and expressive. He did see the horrors of the frontlines with his own very eyes, I'm sure he wasn't exaggerating anything.
And it seems like the others realized that, their faces turned serious and grim as their future as a guardian might seem more unpredictable than you would expect.
" Though I'm sure geniuses like you guys would become legends on the battlefield, life, and death aren't certain in that place... "
" But that's why you're here so that you could learn and minimize the dangers of such a place and be a living legend amongst humanity. "
