Kapitel 64: Sixty four
Nick got up from where he sat and made his way to the door, getting some eyes to turn and follow him till he left. And then the eyes returned to me.
The other end of the bottle was traced and found to stop in April's direction. Fuck me. She smiled at me, giving it out that she had something up her sleeve.
"I get to like dare her to do something right?" She asked like she didn't know what a truth or dare game was about.
"That's if she wants to do a dare," Kim wringed his lips. "She decides if she wants to give the truth to whatever question you ask or if she wants a dare from you."
"Alright," she shrugged. You could hear the joy in her voice. I'm sure she's been suspecting my relationship with Uche...I don't know, I just think she knows already.
"Julie?" She called back my attention and made me look at her. "Truth or dare?"
Truth or dare...I sighed, not knowing which to pick to be on a safer side. If I picked truth, she could ask about Uche and myself, no, I couldn't face that. At least, not now, and not in front of everyone here.
"Dare," I answered.
"Dare it is," she bit her lips while thinking of what to dare me to do but I kinda feel like she already knew what she wanted to dare me to do and was just messing around.
"I've got something!" She announced in not less than fifty seconds since her thinking. "I dare you to kiss Nate."
"What?" I heard myself ask because one, who the hell is Nate? And two, kiss? Jeez, I thought she would ask me to stick my tongue on the floor or something. Not that I would rather do that but I didn't expect the kind of dare she gave.
"Did you have to?" Kim asked her but she rolled her eyes.
"It's my turn to give the dare, isn't it?" She responded with a rhetorical question.
"Alright Julie, one minute, kiss Nate and let's go to the next spin." Kim said.
"W-who is Nate?" I wanted to know.
"Me," a guy with brown hair waved at me and frankly, he looks pretty kissable but nah, I couldn't kiss him. I turned my neck to look at Uche for the first time since I sat near him. His eyes were already on me. They didn't look happy about April's dare. I should have just picked truth and avoided all this.
"What if I don't wanna carry out what I'm dared to do?" I asked no one in particular but I knew Kim would be the one to answer.
"You pay fifteen dollars to the person who dared you."
Oh shit, you're kidding me. I touched the pockets on my clothes and remembered how much I had on me.
"I don't have up to fifteen, I have nine dollars here, I'll just pay up later." I got on my feet to go hand the money over to April.
"No, it's gotta be full." A girl seated in the circle voiced out and stopped where I stood. "Pay it complete or do the fucking dare."
"Yeah, if you don't have the money just do the dare and don't be such a prude." Someone else said and I felt the need to snap back.
"I'm not a prude."
"Then kiss the boy," someone else said and I immediately felt crowded by these people. It felt like they could eat me up if they wanted and they would do it together.
"I'll pay for her," I heard Uche and turned around. He had his hand in his front pocket getting out some cash.
I knew he had been quiet since because his involvement could sell us and our relationship out but he seemed pissed after the pressure from the circle.
"Here, give it to April," he gave Kim the fifteen dollars with his eyes on me, comforting me. I wanted to scold him right now because he was the reason I even came back to the circle to play this stupid game.
"No," April's voice got me to stop looking in Uche's direction because I turned where she sat. "I didn't give the dare to Uche, did I? I dared Julie, Uche shouldn't have to pay for her. She either pays for herself or do the fucking dare." She folded her arms against her chest after speaking.
I couldn't believe she meant what she was saying. Was she serious? I knew it! I knew she fucking had an idea of Uche and I dating, else why else would she have an issue with Uche paying for me.
Standing right in the middle of the circle, I heard my phone ding with a notification. I checked and saw that it was from an unsaved number.
[Do it Julie, if you don't, they'll mess you up]
[...] the number was still typing something else so I looked up to know who because it definitely wasn't Uche, he wouldn't even ask me to kiss another guy.
Casey. It was Casey. It had to be because she was typing so quickly on her phone when I looked at her and immediately my phone dinged with another message, she looked at me.
[Just kiss the guy and get it over with] Came the second message.
I started to think of it and saw that Casey had a point. They could easily do to me what they did with Casey. Or would they? I was Nick's sister, there had to be an advantage to that right?
"You're fucking wasting our time!" I heard someone.
"Seriously, I don't get this new girl, it's not like she was asked to give him a bj, it's just a kiss." One of April's friends whispered to someone else, who replied her with;
"You know what they say? The ones who are most shy are usually the whores."
That was it, I was done listening to their bullshit. "Fine, I'll do it!" I just wanted them to stop saying the shitty things they were saying.
I saw the Nate smile and get on his feet to meet me in the center of the circle of our classmates.
"Let's start the game over," I heard Uche. "Or we could just end the game, it's not making sense, let's do something else."
"Whattt?" Kim dragged on his one word question.
"We're not ending the game till Julie completes her dare, Uche." April shook her head.
"April..." Uche called her name and gave her this look but she looked away. I glanced over at Uche and his eyes caught mine.
Don't fucking do it, Julie. I could read what he was saying with his eyes but I ignored it and just closed my eyes. I felt Nate's lip touch mine with a light peck; it was all quick, thankfully.
I opened my eyes and was returning to my place beside Uche and that was when Nick came back in, his entire focus was on his phone.
