Kapitel 18: Brutal death

He immediately stopped whatever he was doing and tried not to freak out.

"Where is he right now?" He asked but then Zack could not respond to him. That only meant one thing. That Alpha Lucifel was very close and he could barge into the dungeon any minute from now, no, any second from now.

He looked at the vampiress and without staring any longer, he carefully applied the dye on the scar he had created on her skin and on her birthmark too.

Ethan looked at the maid, "You will serve as her maid when the time comes and apply the dye every day. This is a secret, ensure that her birthmark is never visible to anyone."

"Yes, My lord," she answered.

Ethan immediately stood up from where he was bending down. He walked away from there so quickly when he heard the alpha's footsteps increase. Before the alpha could come into the dungeon, he had already opened the door and then come out from it.

Lucifel and Ethan barged in themselves and Ethan uttered, "I am sorry, Your Highness."

Alpha Lucifel looked at his beta for some moment before his eyes met the inside of the dungeon but Ethan was so fast to close the door of the dungeon. "Your highness, it would be improper to look at a changing woman. I called a maid to take care of the prisoner as she stinks."

"I was told you killed one of the prisoners, Isn't it the vampiress?" Lucifel's brow creased up and then his gaze slowly fell on Ethan's fingers which seemed to be painted with blood, perhaps dye as he could not scent any blood from him.

"No, your highness. Not the vampiress at all but I had to deal with the human prisoner who killed the rest of the prisoners he was caged with."

"Who is that? The bald human?"

"Yes, your highness. Forgive me for letting my anger determine my judgment."

The alpha prince only pocketed his trousers, he then looked at the guard that was at his left-hand side.

"Eliminate him for deceiving," he said, despite knowing that he was the one who misunderstood the guard who had come to inform him that his beta had killed a prisoner, he still blamed him for spoiling his mood. "Ethan, I would like the vampiress to be taken to the inner dungeon, I need to force some words out of her."

"Yes, Alpha but I hope it does not happen today, the full moon is about to appear but its effects are already too glaring," he said, trying to let the prince know that the vampiress shouldn't be in his dungeon because he easily loses control of himself. "She is a stubborn being, she will surely get on your nerves."

The alpha insisted, "Bring her into the dungeon when she is done changing." When Lucifel was done observing, he went back with the two guards following him.

Until Ethan was sure that he could not hear them, he connected Zack on the mind link, "I thought you said he was with the councils."

"It turned out that the councils had long annoyed him and he had been in his chamber since."

"Hmmm. You can go now. Check on the dead human. In his dungeon is a lady, ask her about where the other humans reside and torture her if she proves to be stubborn."

Ethan turned back to the dungeon and was about to enter when he heard the maid's voice in the dungeon, "My lord, she is awake."

He immediately pushed the door open and walk inside. His gaze met a face filled with rage.

Immediately, Hazel charged against him by grabbing the maid that was beside her on her neck and pinging her hairpin towards the maid's neck. "If you don't tell me what you did to me, I will kill her right now."

The maid did not seem terrified. She only looked at the vampiress who was holding her neck now.

Ethan smiled at her gesture before rubbing his forehead with his palm. To think that he was almost caught by the prince only to end up meeting this senseless being displaying nuisance?

"I should not bother about your pointless threat when she could just switch the weapon back on your neck. Maids in the palace are trained at the very bit not like you in your clan."

"I am not a maid!" She seemed offended and instead, she pushed the maid away.

"My Lord, why don't you excuse us? I am yet to dress her up finish."

Ethan and Hazel both looked at the maid, their eyebrows squeezed up at the same time while the maid looked unfathomable.

"What else do you have to do?"

Hazel also voiced, "I am changed and okay, other than whatever had been dipped into my skin. What are you talking about?"

Hazel did not understand what was wrong with the maid. She noticed something strange within the maid, especially from the time in which she had slowly woken up from her unconscious state. The maid looked like she was sniffing her just before she woke up.

The maid walked closer to Hazel, her face was so plain and looked like she had been hypnotized somewhat.

Hazel froze in her state before walking backwards, not knowing what to do otherwise. "What is wrong with her?"

Before the maid could come nearer to Hazel, Ethan walked to her and pierced his claws into her head. With a sudden force on her head, there was a swishing sound and then her head split into two.

The only visible thing on the maid was the blood splattered over her faceless face and her skin being peeled off her face like the peels of bananas. The maid became still before she fell sideways to the ground, letting a thump sound echo in the dungeon.

On seeing this, Hazel attempted to scream but he was very fast to pull her to himself and cover her mouth with his bloodied palm. "It is the full moon, you need to stay away from the rest."
