Kapitel 5: She's Gone.
Two steps with closed grounds, but it feels like the earth should open up and swallow her. Like, right now.
Her world is about to end, and any small move can, so she better be careful!
She takes in a deep breath as she opens the doors of the office without hesitation. Her eyes becomes a bit blurry, but it all disappears when she heard the voice of her boss.
"What is it?"
Zhi Ruo swallows hard. Even her saliva seemed to have frozen at that moment.
"There's news that young Master is considering the offer. I was wondering if there are any orders you will like to make"
The last sentence was a blunder indeed.
The young woman wearing all-black with black eye-liners, black lipstick and a black hat, let's out a dangerous sounding chuckle. She raises a stick of cigarette to her lips before lighting it.
But her swift moves made Zhi Ruo shiver in fear. She watches as her boss turns swiftly and walk upto her with her hat covering half of her face. Her lips holds the cigarette in a way that looks enticing, making Zhi Ruo have the urge to join her in such a good looking act.
When she finally got to Zhi Ruo's front, Zhi Ruo steps back... But that only made her boss take another step forward.
They were so close that the tips of their noses almost touched... Literally.
"What do you take me for?" Her hat still covering half of her face, but her voice makes Zhi Ruo sketch out her ghost, incase she might not live to see the dawn of the next day.
"You know how I hate wasting time"
"My boss" Zhi Ruo immediately states "You're my boss"
"And what is the job of the boss?"
Zhi Ruo thought carefully before she answered.
"Um... To... The boss is... Doesn't do anything"
Even with her critical thinking for a few moments, she still didn't come up with the best answer.
The lady inhaled deeply. Having to correct the employees under her seems to be more stressing than having to take care of old people.
Those that have dull brains makes it even more tormenting.
She raises her head and stared directly into Zhi Ruo's eyes.
Zhi Ruo immediately looked down at her shoes, wondering what offence she has committed.
"Look at me" Three words, and that was it. Zhi Ruo looks up at her hesitantly, and fearfully.
"What you said... Has made me know a lot about you"
Zhi Ruo tried her best not to burst into tears in her boss's presence. Gosh, this is so embarrassing!
"You just told me that you can't be a boss"
Her boss got straight to the point, not caring if she hurt anyone's feelings or not.
"Your definition of a boss, is wrong" her brown eyes made direct contact with the eyes of her boss. Even if both of them have brown eyes, her boss's eyes sure enough, dominates the eyes of all other employees, making the color of their eyes change with the emotions that can be read on it.
"A boss coordinates. Guides. Protects. Listens. Corrects" Of course, a boss do all of those! Why didn't she think of that?!
"A boss take charge. A boss fights"
Zhi Ruo's eyes are becoming teary now. She knows that looking direct into the eyes of her boss is a taboo, but it seems like she doesn't care.
"You may be right. Some bosses do nothing" moving a bit closer, she whispers so lowly as if she's disclosing an escape plan.
"But Ai Mi Bao... Do not do nothing. Know that"
Zhi Ruo nods fearfully. The dark sensation around them can make her explode like a volcano right now.
Ai Mi looked down at her shaky hands and gave her a small smile. Then she raises the cigarette to her mouth again and turns.
"And as my assistant, I expect you to not do nothing, too"
Even if Zhi Ruo didn't understand, she cleared her throat and forced out a " Yes, Ma'am", with sore throat.
"Master Haoran will be here tomorrow" Ai Mi looks out through the window, into the dark city. Cars driving in and out of the homes of different people.
"Let everyone be in their most ruthless behavior"
"Yes, Ma'am"
Zhi Ruo took the order and leaves calmly with little tears rolling down her eyes.
Ai Mi continues to look out of the window in some kind of excitement. But her face remains as hard as ever.
The ash of the cigarette falls to the ground as she removes it from her mouth, and released the ring of smoke into the already polluted air.
She places the stick of cigarette on a silver plate sitting on the table beside the window. She smiles adorably... But dangerously.
"I've finally found you... Haoran"

Haoran is seen on his bed with his phone in his hand. Only the brightness of his screen is the light in his entire room.
His face is as hard as ever. His fingers tap slowly on the photos of him and Mei from when they were both kids... Till now.
He scrolls up slowly in disdain and agony. No one can dictate the kind of pain he is feeling right now, no matter how hard they tried.
The photo of him, Mei and their mum pops up on his screen, and that was when the tears he has been holding back for a long time now, finally broke from his eyes and fell down his face in dismay and pain.
He stares at that certain photo and released a small painful smile with the tears rolling down.
If only he had known...
Well, other people around him will ask: what will he have done?
But what he will do, will shun them and teach them this lesson...

Cause people may have bad looks, but they are the kindest. People may have good looks, but they are so rotten within.
He stares at the photo for a long time, before switching off his phone, and laid on his side.
Mei. She's gone.
