Kapitel 2: What's happening?

"Stop it, this isn't funny anymore."

"Wh-what?" She looked bewildered with my statement.

"Is this a prank? This is a shitty prank if it is."

"Lady Eli, stop using such vulgar language. This is so unlikely of you."

"What is happening is so unlikely either!"

"I am aware of how difficult these past several weeks have been for you, but do not give up with yourself Lady Eli." She muttered and tried to wipe the non existing tears from her eyes again.

"Stop with the Lady-thing already! Just tell me what happened alright? I want to go home. I still have classes."

I think it's already noon and my Aunt will kill me for suddenly disappearing without even preparing their breakfast before doing so.

"I don't know what happened last night Lady Eli, some Gentleman just told me that something had happened to you. He gave me the direction to this cottage and that's how I found you with your dress almost torn apart. Thank heavens they didn't take your innocence as I was afraid they could have." She sighed and patted her chest.

It seems she really does care for me and I feel bad with my outburst now.

I sighed and tried to calm myself which I'm terrible at.

Okay Eli, let's talk this out.

Okay so some gentleman helped me and it looks like I was taken advantage of?

That info didn't help me at all!

Nevermind what happened yesterday, let's focus on what's happening right now.

"Then can you perhaps please explain what this is?" I asked as I gestured both my hands to my body, from head to toe.

She stared at me confusedly, "What do you mean by that My Lady— Oh do you mean the dress? I know you're used to big and beautiful dresses but we—"

"No, no that's not what I meant. How did I end up looking like this?"

"Looking like what? You're still beautiful my—"

"NO." I immediately answered, " What I meant was... I didn't look like this before. You see, I'm a bit shorter, and not this fair, although I think we have the same body type... I have longer nails, I maintained that badly despite having to wash buckets of clothes, but look at this," I grumpily showed her my hand and my nails.

My long nails were the only thing I'm proud of my body.

She stared at me for a whole damn minute, "My Lady... I think you should eat first."

"...No, we have to discuss this first. I can't go home looking like this." I stated as I gestured to my body again.

"Go home where Lady Eli?"

"Home... Auxory Street just around the—"

You can't go back to the Hirsch's territory."

"Huh? What Hirsch are you talking about? I was talking about where I'm staying." She looked at me with sadness in her eyes, looking as if she empathizes with what I feel.

What is this woman thinking now?

"Even while I understand how difficult it must be to have your family desert you, the Marquess made the right decision My Lady. This is the consequences of your actions." Now this time, it was me who was staring at her confusedly.

"What Marquess?"

What the hell is this woman talking about?

"Lady Elivette, do not be upset with what I said..." She frantically said as she stared at my face. I think she mistook my confused face with an upset one.

"No, no that's not it— Wait, what did you just call me?" I asked her.

Elivette...

My name is Elise but people call me Eli. Now this is the first time someone called me Elivette.

In my entire life, I have never met someone with that kind of name not until I read it fro—

"Elivette? Did I hear it correctly? You called me Elivette? Elivette Hirsch isn't it?" I stared wide-eyed at her, waiting for her answer.

I already know what's going on; I hope I'm wrong, but something in me tells me I'm not.

"What is it my Lady?"

"What's my name?"

"...but you just said it."

Elivette Hirsch...

"No, you've gotta be kidding me." I muttered as I stared at my hands.

I frantically looked around the room trying to find a mirror.

I went to the bedside table and opened its drawers trying to find one. I know my face has changed but I want to see it for myself.

"Lady Eli, Are you—"

I faced her, "What eye color do I have?" I asked.

One thing that I remember about Elivette Hirsch is that she has a unique eye color.

Among the Elites and Nobles, the Hirsch Family only has this eye color and it's—

"Red? Why do you ask?"

I felt as if my whole body lost its strength. I stared at her and at the wooden door at her back.

I pushed her aside and went out the door.

What unfolded was a forest.

The scorching sun is beating down on the trees and creating shades one can rest on. I took a look around and followed the path-like grasses that had been trampled on excessively.

I held my breath as I felt the pounding of my heartbeat. I sped up my pace, and almost stumbled upon a tree root but picked up myself and continued onwards—

Town.

It's a town.

A town I've never seen before.

With unfamiliar people walking around.

They were dressed the same way as the woman at the cottage. Although, some were dressed more lavishly.

There were even horses around.

Two were even used on the carriage.

"Lady Elivette!"

Everything is unfamiliar.

"My Lady!" I felt someone grab my hand but what comes into my mind is the scene that is in front of me.

Guys marching around with swords on their waist.

Soldiers... or are they called knights?

"My Lady! Let's go back inside. You shouldn't go out dressed inappropriately. Do not let your reputation deteriorate."

Inappropriately? I stared at my past knee-length pale dress with long sleeves.

Right, this is inappropriate in this setting.

It wasn't until now that what had happened started to make sense to me.

I transmigrated to a romance fantasy book.
