"It is done, my queen." The shadow spoke through the window as Meriella was being dressed by the servants,
"Good, that should buy us some time," she replied, "What about Shield Hero?"
"He is visiting Belokas most likely to enhance the slave crest on the demi-human, we have also found signs of Barren Leaf trying to make contact with the sword Hero, but we haven't been able to confirm whether that is true or not."
"Is it Joel himself?" Meriella asked as the shadow nodded.
"No wonder you are having trouble; keep a close eye on Aultcray and Malty, and let the Bow Hero be on low priority for now." Meriella ordered as the shadow disappeared.
She could feel the uneasiness as she was thinking about the situation Adric hadn't demanded anything out of this incident, so she had to make a gamble by letting Eclair join his party to hold him down, but if Adric could really gain Eclair's loyalty, Melromac might lose one of its best fighters.
No matter how she thought about it, this was way worse than she could imagine. Moreover, Siltvelt had become more aggressive in their stance to take the Shield Hero away from Melromac and maybe even the Sword Hero.

-Melromac-
I was sitting on top of the clock tower, now well aware of the mana signature approaching me from the left, as I smirked when the man stood bowing deeply.
"It's been a while, Joel."
"Actually, it's just a day and a half," he said before he gave me a stack of paper.
"Here is the information you requested, Sir Hero; it is mostly of the Queen and the King since the two daughters haven't done much as of yet." He spoke as I started skimming through the pages, and I think the Runic tongue skill played its part as I started going through; it looked good enough.
"Looks good, and one more thing, do you know anything about Eclair Seatto."
"Earl Seatto's daughter?"
"Well, as far as I know, she was the head knight or something."
"Yes, she is the one, though right now she is in prison cells for treason for assisting foreign spies when she was actually hunting down slavers after the assassination of her father"
I raised an eyebrow as Joel coughed.
"I don't know much since I was still up north, but it seemed like an assassination done by the king or the church." He spoke as I nodded,
He ran off as I started skimming through the report, which covered starting from Aultcray.
Real Name: Lüge Lansarz Faubrey, was Thirteenth in line to the throne of Faubrey before the current king was crowned.
Reason for leaving: N/A (Hatred for demi humans speculated)
one of the greatest tacticians of the present era, who rose from the position of a foot soldier to that of a king... -
The section went on to describe his achievements, but what caught my eye was him being chosen by the vassal staff, What the hell? He didn't even seem that strong, unless he was hiding his strength, which I doubt he is. Then something wasn't adding up with all the vassal weapons and stuff.
But after reading through, I knew the Aultcray that I read about was no pushover like the one I am currently facing.
I kept reading through until I came upon the assassination of the second child by Siltvelt, though there was no evidence of it.
I see what happened, the death of his son hit him hard, so much so that he started being overprotective of the eldest daughter Malty, the Queen saw this and thus kept the younger daughter Melty away from Aultcray.
Joel even put in his theory of Aultcray or Malty being behind the assassination of Earl Seatteo in order to gain control of Melromac and summon the four heroes.
I kept reading through as it turned into what I had mostly figured out, but the only problem that I now had was that his foundation was too solid to breakdown with just my plan of controlling the army and the public since he was a war hero and a wise king so he still had a significant pull on both groups. I had to make it a scandal so big that everybody just forgets about the good he has done and just focuses on the bad.
The only big crack I could see was his Vassal staff and his love for Malty.
Well, I never said I wasn't a scumbag.
I sighed, being a Norlov is a pain in the ass sometimes.
I flipped through to the Queen's side of things, and oh boy, did Aultcray really bag a dub on this one.
That's a MILF, there's no fucking doubt about it, if the drawing was accurate, I could see where Malty got her looks from.
She too had fought her share of battles and was no less intelligent than Aultcray, but her popularity was far higher than Aultcray's due to his recent actions.
Mostly used ice magic but was equally skilled in sword as well as bows.
She was going to be troublesome to deal with in order to get Melromac under my grasp,
I read through the reports of the other two, Malty and Melty.
Malty had studied at a university in Faubrey, while Melty had mostly being taught by the queen.
There wasn't much information on them except that Malty's behavior and habits had cost her the throne as she wasn't the crown princess, moreover, the last one seemed to catch my eyes that she was to be married to the King of Faubrey as if somehow it were a bad thing.
I will have to ask the twins. Melty, on the other hand, was completely blank except for her drawing and that she had just entered Melromac on her way back from Faubrey.
I was just coming to the end when I saw a list of names and titles.
The people supporting Malty as the next queen hope Sir Hero appreciates it /
I read the note and almost laughed, as I memorized the thirty or so names before burning the entire pile.
That is more than enough for now, Time to get to the prison cells and see exactly what the Queen was providing me with.
I landed back down below the clock tower as I could see Arna beating up some dude that seemed to have wandered a little too close.
"Well let's get moving, we've got a lot to do before the evening," I spoke as I saw Kelin peeking out from a stall holding something to eat,

-Belokas' Tent-
"All done, Sir Hero, the seal has been increased, that will be 10 silvers." The stout man spoke as Naofumi tossed him the pouch,
"How do I look, Naofumi Sama?" Raftalia spoke as Naofumi looked as Raftalia showed him the crest just above her cleavage,
"Cough,..looks good," Nofumi coughed as he looked away,
Raftalia smiled Arna's ideas seemed to be working, she wanted to go a bit further as Arna had told her letting Naofumi touch the crest but Belokas, who seemed to be digging through the back, interrupted her as he brought out a box full of eggs.
Belokas was about to say something when he felt the chill as he caught Raftalia staring at him,
-Royal Palace-
"Your Majesty!!" the man rushed into the court as Aultcray was taking measures to supress the news of the events of this morning from spreading.
"What is it?" Aultcray asked, dismissing the official,
"Sword Hero is going towards the prison."
Aultcray frowned, Why would Adric go to the prison when there is nothing there....wait...Shit!!
"Stop....." Aultcray was just about to give orders, but considering the current situation he was in, drawing more attention on Adric would only be more detrimental as he would take this opportunity to undermine the royal family.
But if he let Adric go in, they would most likely lose Eclair. What was Meriella thinking?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Haa..." I almost laughed when Arna told me what she had suggested to Raftalia.
"I knew you were just evil from the start," Kelin said while Reyna slept on top of the backpack that he carried on his back,
"Well, the temptation got the better of me, plus, at the pace they were going, there wouldn't be any progress for years," Arna replied as we were arriving in front of the prison.
There were two guards standing in front as they saw us approaching, at first they remained calm but slowly became nervous as I was a few meters away from the gate and realized who I was.
"Welcome, Sir Hero, how can we be of help?" One of them spoke up as I just smiled.
"Oh don't mind me, I am just taking a stroll," I replied, walking past them as they were hesitating about what to do?
I came up to the front door, which had a simple lock mechanism, The guard fumbled with his keys, but I just smiled, holding my hand just over the keyhole, and I started turning the lock using telekinesis. Opening it up, the two soldiers looked on before running after us But Kelin just grabbed them in a choke hold.
"Sir Hero!!"
"This might be the first time someone is trying to break into a prison." Arna spoke completely ignoring the two soldiers suffering under Kelin's grip.
"Seems like people in your world have less free time on their hands."
Alarm bells started to go out throughout the jail as I stepped out into the ground connecting the outer gate to the main prison cells.
We were surrounded by thirty or so soldiers who had their weapons drawn.
One of them stepped forward, a man in his late fifties, looked like the person in charge here,
"May I be so bold to ask about why Sir Hero is here today?" He spoke as I smiled, not a idiot, at least not like the commander.
"Well, I was here to meet someone under the orders of Queen Meriella," I replied as the soldiers looked at each other and the man looked at me for a second before raising his hands to signal the soldiers to back off.
"I see Sir Hero, My name is Derius Callaway, and I am the Chef Warden here. I will assist you to the best of my abilities." The man spoke as he looked at the soldiers.
"All of you back to your stations, and sir, could your companion please free those two kids?" Derius spoke as Kelin let the two guards go, who glared at Kelin before running back.
"They seem well trained," I said as the Derius smiled,
"That is the best I can do, at my age, Sir Hero, there are not many ways to serve Melromac... ah, my apologies, may I ask who it is you want to meet?"
"Eclair Seaetto," I replied as the man paused and stared at me before sighing.
"Please follow me," The man spoke as He led us through to the third floor.
"Who the hell is that?" one of the inmates started out as soon everybody was talking about it.
"Hey, hey, are they new fodder?"
"Idiots, they still have their weapons,"
"Hey, isn't that Sword...." The news had already started to spread by the time we were standing in front of the cell.
"There is someone here to meet you, Eclair!" Derius spoke as I saw a woman around twenty, with wavy strawberry blonde hair. Her blue eyes were observing me before she saw the holy sword strapped to my waist.
"Well, open the gate."
"Sir?" Darius spoke as I smiled,
"I will have to break it if you don't."
"What is the meaning of this, Sir Hero?" Eclair spoke up as I sighed; it seems like they don't get it.
"Well, I am breaking you out of here."
Darius immediately went for his sword, but Kelin was faster, as he caught his arm and pushed him against the wall.
You can't avoid property damage,
I raised my foot and kicked the door in.
"Sir Hero what is this?" Eclair spoke as I shrugged.
"A kidnapping"
