In my head, there was a particular thought running through it.

It was only when I actually started to set foot on the stage, did I process everything that happened. I saw that Harold was getting ready to leave the stage, while the old man raised his hand.

"I now declare the both of you-"

"Objection!"

I raised my hand and said that at the top of my lungs. It honestly felt a little strange to be doing this, as normally Bryson would be the one to do this while the main character gets a promotion.

...But now, I was going to do it to myself.

Both the old man and Harold turned back to look at me strangely. Well, actually everyone pretty much turned to look at me strangely. After clearing his throat, the old man spoke to me.

"Do you not believe the person next to you deserves to be promoted?"

I waved my hand dismissively.
