Kapitel 104: Chapter 7-Joe Beth Cafe

We leave the car, and I look up at the sign above the cafe. "Joe Beth's Cafe?"

"Yeah," Freddie says, adjusting his sunglasses. "Beth is his mother's name."

Aww, I thought to myself.

I walk into the cafe nervously. It's as if I am meeting my date for the first time.

I instantly forget my worries when I inhale. The place smells so good! Nothing but the scent of coffee and pastries. A long line is in front of us, but no one is sitting. All chairs have been stacked to the right side. Is he closing early, or is there still a covid restriction here?

When we finally reach the front of the line, Freddie giggles as he puts his hand out. I am entranced by the three glass cases in front of me. Full of cakes, cookies, muffins, and sandwiches. My stomach begins the tango with my intestine. This all looks so delicious. I want to try them all!

I am brought back from my hunger when from the corner of my eyesight, the barista grabs Freddie's hand and kisses it.
