"It's the weekend, so you can sleep in a little longer."
"Is there a make-up class at school?"
Seeing Illya wake up at just after six, Shirou was a little worried, but Illya just shook her head firmly, wearing a smile that looked like she was about to cry.
They even brought the ropes...
The forest where the former magical girl got beaten up.
"First, this class card contains the power of a legendary hero," Lord El-Melloi II waved the Caster class card in his hand, "Basic transmutation magic was probably used here, but at such a high level that even a hero's power can be transmuted into oneself."
As he spoke, Lord El-Melloi II tossed the "Caster" class card into the air. Just as it began to fall, he raised his hand and touched the card. A magic circle large enough for a person appeared beneath his feet, and the card dissolved into points of light that merged into his body.
"That's pretty much how it works," Lord El-Melloi II fanned himself with a feathered fan.
"What! That simple?" Illya stared in disbelief at Lord El-Melloi II, who had just transformed without much effort. Other than holding a feather fan, he looked no different!
"I understand now," Miyu's eyes lit up.
"So that's how it is," Tohsaka Rin squinted her eyes.
"Surprisingly simple," Luvia nodded.
"Oh, so that's what it was," Gray scratched her face.
"Eh! Am I the only one who doesn't get it?" Illya felt a bit desperate.
'Am I the only idiot?' Illya recalled the paper stuck to her forehead earlier.
"Actually, I don't get it either," Cyd patted Illya on the shoulder.
"Thanks!"
"Because that man is... never mind," Tohsaka Rin sighed. "Anyway, with Ruby, you should be able to unleash your Noble Phantasm. You can use other abilities to make up for the rest."
"How does it feel to be a hero?" Cyd walked over to Lord El-Melloi II and asked quietly.
"Surprisingly natural," Lord El-Melloi II waved his feathered fan.
"Why don't you try using the Rider class card?" Cyd squinted at him.
Lord El-Melloi II's hand froze, and after a long pause, he turned his face away. "I'm not qualified to use that king's power."
"What a tsundere man," Cyd chuckled as he looked at the training Miyu and Illya were undergoing, along with Tohsaka Rin and Luvia who were instructing them.
"If it's that king, he's probably so domineering that even the class card rules can't bind him. What if, during the transmutation, you actually saw him? Could it be that you're worried about such a petty thing?"
Lord El-Melloi II pressed his lips together and then casually fanned himself with the feather fan. "So what if I see him? He'll just laugh and ask to borrow my body for a while, making a troublesome request."
"You acted so resolutely before, but now that the opportunity is in front of you, you hesitate," Cyd patted Lord El-Melloi II's shoulder. "Your king stopped in his tracks for you, so don't let him down."
Lord El-Melloi II raised his fan, blocking Cyd's face.
"Alright~ Since you've made up your mind, I won't interfere," Cyd shrugged and walked toward Illya and Miyu, who were still training.
"Master?" Gray tilted her head.
"It's nothing, Gray, I'm just a little..." Lord El-Melloi II grinned. "A little too happy to handle it."
At that moment, Illya and Miyu's training was going smoothly.
Boom!
A beam of light shot straight into the sky.
Illya stared blankly at the still-smoking staff in her hand.
"Did... did I do that?"
"I've been telling you, Illya, you can do anything if you set your mind to it!" Ruby wiggled around.
"Then next, let's fly," Tohsaka Rin said nonchalantly.
"Eh? So casually?"
"What's so strange? You've already managed to attack, so now just fly and keep bombarding the Servants. After all, Saber and Berserker can't fly," Tohsaka Rin naturally shared an extremely underhanded strategy.
"Though it's not very ladylike, given your current abilities, this approach is more reliable," Luvia nodded. "Flying isn't easy to master, but Miyu will definitely have no trouble at all!"
She was that confident because Miyu was a genius!
And so, Illya flew up naturally, while Miyu stood there holding her staff, staring blankly at the sky.
Just like when they first learned to use magic cannons, only their roles had reversed.
"Humans... don't fly!" Miyu's eyes were determined.
"But magical girls can!" Illya looked puzzled.
'How is this such a given? Aren't magical girls still human?' Miyu, her face stiff, jumped up and down like she was doing high jumps, but couldn't fly around like Illya.
Saber and Berserker were too dangerous. Without the ability to fly and evade, the risk was too great. Miyu "had" to fly!
Luvia and Tohsaka Rin exchanged glances and nodded firmly.
Then a helicopter descended. Under Illya's incredulous gaze, Rin and Luvia lifted Miyu into the helicopter, with Cyd joining them after some thought.
As the helicopter's blades spun, it quickly ascended.
"Humans... don't fly!" Standing at the door of the cabin, Miyu's face paled, but her eyes were determined.
Rin and Luvia exchanged glances again. Honestly, with Cyd watching, they didn't dare do something like throw Miyu out.
"She's got A-rank physical defense, so this height won't hurt her at all."
Even knowing that, there was no guarantee Cyd wouldn't kick them both out along with her.
"It's okay, Miyu. Humans just can't fly yet," Cyd stood up and hugged Miyu from behind.
"But..." Miyu raised her hand to touch Cyd's arm.
"Trust me," Cyd lifted her, turning his back to the cabin door. "You can do it. It's easy, and I'll be right by your side."
Miyu hesitated, then nodded firmly.
"Well... let's go," Cyd smiled and leaped backwards.
"Hey!" Tohsaka Rin instinctively reached out to grab Cyd.
The wind howled past her ears. Bound by the belief that humans couldn't fly, Miyu opened her eyes to the sky.
"Feel the wind, Miyu," Cyd slowly released her. "Maybe you can't do it now, but one day humans will master the skies. You're just doing it early."
On the ground, Lord El-Melloi II waved his fan, making the hard ground soften and layering it with cushioning magic.
'I can't...'
The feeling of weightlessness made Miyu instinctively want to return to Cyd's embrace, but she saw the expectant look in his eyes.
'I can't give up...'
'I must... respond to his efforts...'
Miyu clenched her teeth, reaching out to grab Cyd's left hand.
So...
Fly!!!
Boom!
Amidst the rising smoke, Cyd looked up with a soft smile, watching the little girl, flushed red, clutching his hand, floating in mid-air.
Although he had already landed, Miyu had...
"See, you did it."
