Hello everyone, I'm Lili, a supporter. Due to certain reasons, I targeted the equipment of a newbie adventurer who seemed a bit clueless. I didn't intend to harm him, but I was definitely planning to steal his equipment.
At least, that was the plan...
Now, Lili was huddled in a corner, holding her head, trembling with fear. Behind her was a scene of brutal slaughter.
"Grrr—"
Every time a monster screamed, she shivered.
How did it end up like this...?
Before entering the dungeon, he still had that innocent look on his face, like someone you could easily trick into giving you everything, even his underwear.
"Let me just switch my mindset a bit," Bell said as he took out a small helmet from his pack that seemed oddly familiar to Lili.
Then, she remembered. The strange adventurer who had suddenly appeared in the dungeon recently, tirelessly hunting goblins day and night on the lower levels, had a similar helmet.
Normally, such a person would just be a laughingstock among adventurers, but his fighting style was too brutal. He even managed to kill fifty goblins in one go, earning the nickname "Goblin Slayer" among fellow level 1 adventurers.
Lili had witnessed his deeds twice by chance. She saw him crush a goblin's head against the wall with a shield while his eyes glowed red from beneath the helmet.
She had firmly decided to avoid any interaction with him.
"Hiyaa!" Bell swung his left arm, slicing through a giant ant's mandibles with his shield, while his right hand drove a short sword straight into its head.
"All done."
Bell glanced around at the field of magic stones scattered around him, nodded, and sheathed his short sword.
"Lili?" Bell tilted his head, his red eyes glowing faintly beneath the helmet's grill.
"Eek!" Lili stood up nervously.
She had heard rumors that the Goblin Slayer once almost attacked other adventurers in his frenzy!
Bell felt a little hurt.
"Are you sure you're not tired, Lili?" Bell removed his helmet and scratched his cheek.
"No, Bell-sama! I'm not tired at all!" Lili quickly picked up the magic stones from the ground with rapid movements.
What kind of person had she gotten herself involved with?
She had thought he was a harmless little white rabbit, but who would have guessed he was a brutal Goblin Slayer once he put on the helmet?
If he found out she had been eyeing his equipment, wouldn't he kill her?
Lili's hands shook, causing a magic stone to fall to the ground, and she glanced at an ant crushed into the wall by Bell.
"Are you really okay?" Bell asked with concern, picking up the magic stone and handing it to Lili. "Maybe we should call it a day."
"Don't bury Lili, please?" Lili suddenly sat down in shock and then blinked, "What did you say, Bell-sama?"
"Should we stop for today?" Bell tilted his head.
"Bell-sama, are you tired?" Lili asked cautiously.
"No," Bell blinked.
Compared to when he was using beginner's equipment, he now felt much more at ease.
"You're supposed to be forcing me to keep going while calling me a useless supporter, right?" Lili thought, but the clear worry in Bell's eyes made her unable to say it.
"I'm sorry, Bell-sama, I'm just not feeling well today," Lili turned her head away. "Tomorrow... I'll do better tomorrow."
"Okay, I'm looking forward to it," Bell said as he patted Lili's head. "Make sure to get some good rest!"
"Why is Bell-sama being so nice to me?" Lili bit her lip.
"Because you're a cute girl!" Bell gave a thumbs-up.
Lili blushed and quickly lowered her head in a panic.
"Well... see you tomorrow, Bell-sama."
Bell, sitting at the bar, smiled dreamily.
"Hey!" Cyd waved his hand in front of Bell's face, "Time for training!"
"Ah! Sorry, Teacher!" Bell snapped out of his daydream.
"How do you feel today?" Cyd asked casually.
"The shield and short sword are both very handy. It feels like you and the Goddess are right by my side, so I feel very safe," Bell said, scratching his head with a silly grin.
"Is that all?" Cyd raised an eyebrow. "There's something else, isn't there?"
Bell blinked, his face flushing slightly as he hesitated for a moment before saying in a low voice, "I talked to a girl today. She approached me, but we agreed to go to the dungeon together tomorrow."
How innocent...
Cyd rolled his eyes.
This was the typical reaction of a pure-hearted young man curious about male-female relationships, getting excited just because a girl approached him.
Zeus, couldn't you have raised him without projecting your personal interests?
From what Hera said, Bell was raised by Zeus, so he must have been somewhat influenced. At least he didn't turn into a "making women pregnant is a compliment to their beauty" machine. That's something to be grateful for.
"You better protect her well then," Cyd said as he flicked Bell's forehead.
"Yeah! I won't let anything happen to her as long as I'm standing!" Bell nodded firmly.
"You brat, don't forget about your upcoming assessment," Cyd said, ruffling Bell's hair. "Now, hurry up and eat."
"Yes! I won't hold back!" Bell shouted as he raised his fork.
"Cyd," Ryuu called as she tugged on the back of Cyd's coat, "come over here for a moment."
Cyd raised an eyebrow, glanced at Bell, then stood up and followed Ryuu outside the Hostess of Fertility.
"What is it?" Cyd asked, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. "There's someone else, isn't there?"
Syr smiled and waved, "I happened to see the girl Bell mentioned."
"You were eavesdropping on our conversation?" Cyd narrowed his eyes.
"Ahem, it was just a coincidence," Syr coughed awkwardly. "I happened to see Bell and a girl entering the dungeon, and then I overheard your conversation."
"That supporter was the one who went to the dungeon with us," Ryuu said expressionlessly. "I noticed her right away. She kept eyeing your weapon, so I investigated afterward. That supporter is a repeat offender, deceiving adventurers and stealing their equipment to sell. It seems some adventurers are also after her."
"That's right! If this continues, Bell will get into all sorts of trouble," Syr added.
"Ah~ Finally meeting a girl, only to find out she has ulterior motives. My dear student would be so disappointed if he found out," Cyd sighed, glancing at Bell, who seemed to be choking from eating too quickly.
"But it's fine. If it's Bell, he'll figure it out. He's not mature enough yet, but..." Cyd smiled and patted Ryuu's head. "He has the ability to change people. And thank you for your concern."
Syr rubbed her eyes as if she couldn't believe what she was seeing.
"Just consider it me being nosy," Ryuu said, her expression neutral as she walked back into the tavern.
Syr widened her eyes.
Ryuu's ears... were red!
