Kapitel 30: Dark clouds, dark days [2/3]

Albert swiftly moved his body, blending in the shadows to avoid the guards' eyes. But he knew that this was useless because, in just a few moments, abyssal monsters would barge into the room they were in.

After avoiding their eyes, Albert finally reached the place where the Holy Lyre was kept at. 'Finally!'

Just as Albert was about to touch the Lyre, his senses sent chills down his spine and he unconsciously leaned to the side.

Boom!*

After leaning, something like a blade that was supposed to hit Albert managed to hit the lyre.

Due to it containing the Anemo Archon's breath, the lyre managed to deflect the attack and sent the attacker back.

Albert quickly retreated to the side and looked at his new opponent. 'That was dangerous...'

'If not for my sharp senses, I would have been cut in half...'

He then looked at what had attacked him.

"Argh, cursed Anemo Archon..." A loud and raspy voice of a man was heard as Albert got a better view of who it was

It was a tall monster that had no recognizable facial features. On its arms were blades that seems to contain abyssal energy mixed with hydro.

The tall monster looked at Albert and spoke with the same raspy voice, "To think... a human could dodge my speed..."

"And to stop the Abyss' will..." The tall figure snarled. "As a Herald, I must mete out your punishment!"

'An abyss herald...!' Albert instantly recognized what it was.

Hilichurls are common monsters found in the wild. Whereas Abyss Mages are the ones that command the Hilichurls.

But above the Abyss Mages are the Abyss Heralds. A much more wicked and twisted creatures that command the Mages.

"Do not interfere, human..." The abyss herald spoke. "You only... delay the inevitable..."

Hearing this, instead of faltering, Albert smirked under his hood— which was noticed by the Abyss Herald.

"What's funny... human?!" The Abyss Herald shrieked. "Do you wish death?"

"Haha, no..." Albert shook his head. "I was just thinking that you should get yourself a throat moisturizer..."

"...?" The Abyss Herald didn't know what Albert was talking about, but it was pissed for unknown reasons. "Insolent...!"

"Annihilate!" Out of rage, the Hydro Abyss Herald swung its arm, and a sharp blade made from Hydro materialized and was sent flying to Albert.

Seeing this, with his inhumane reflexes and speed, Albert quickly evaded it and immediately countered.

Woom—*

Vibrations in the air were felt all around as the underground vault began to shake violently.

Then, all of a sudden, Geo elements gathered beneath Albert and a sword slowly ascended from the ground.

In less than a few seconds, dozens of blades rose from the ground and were sent flying to the Abyss Herald. 'Go!'

Swords, polearms, and Claymores instantaneously gathered and surrounded the abyss herald before all of them strike at the same time.

"Hmph...!" Seeing this, the Abyss Herald moved quickly and dodged all the attacks, and even deflected some. "Utterly... useless..."

Albert didn't stop and continued summoning more blades from the ground while also plotting something.

"Once more... you humans who are looked upon by the Gods are—" However, before the Abyss Herald could continue its speech, it saw something amidst the storm of blades circling it.

Boom—*

A fiery explosion ensued as what seemed to be a bomb exploded.

"Kuhaaaa—!" The Abyss Herald shrieked while inside the smoke cloud around it.

'Jumpy dumpty prototype 17: Pyro bombs...' Albert smirked. 'I knew 'borrowing' these from Klee would be useful someday...'

That's right. During the last few days, Albert had been VERY busy. As well as the brotherhood members. All of them each had a task to minimize the casualties of the attack.

'This...' He then sensed something outside. It was Anemo energy. 'Arnold should be done with his task...'

After thinking this, Albert put his focus on the abyss herald once more and provoked it. "What's wrong, can't you take a few hits?"

"You...!" The Abyss Herald snarled as it heard Albert's plain provocation.

Shing—*

"Good..." Suddenly, dark-blue blades emerged from its arms as it spoke with fury. "Human... I will make sure that you will have the most grueling death...!"

"Sure," Albert smirked. He then raised two fingers. "But deal with 'me' first."

After saying this, two figures emerged from the darkness and quickly attacked the Abyss Herald.

The Abyss herald saw this and immediately cut them in half in quick succession. "How pathetic..."

However, while it was speaking, the two figures that were sliced did not die but crumbled away. And soon, another two figures emerged from the ground.

From two to five to ten... They multiplied by the second!

[Elemental Skill: Actors on Stage]

Albert has no limit on how many actors he can summon, per se. But the more actors he summons, the more it will take him to maintain the elemental energy to sustain them. As for their controls, they can act on their own or by following Albert's commands.

"Go!" Albert said before summoning a blade and attacking.

In less than a second, more than twenty or even more geo puppets attacked the Abyss Herald simultaneously.

'Gotta make this quick...' Albert thought as he quickly felt fatigued. 'Using too much elemental energy and manipulation... it's too much even for me...'

Using his elemental skill along with summoning countless Geo blades from the ground is a sure way to overexert yourself. As such, Albert needs to finish the fight quickly.

Boom—*

Wii—*

Clang* ×3

The puppets along with Albert attacked the Herald from all sides, while also avoiding its attacks.

Albert uses the moves he learned from Ezio and evaded each of the Herald's attacks while dealing massive blows with his enhanced dagger which was formed by a fellow brotherhood member.

"Abyssal Roar!" The Herald yelled as it rotated its body while extending its blade toward the puppets.

However, the destroyed puppets would just crumble away and a new one will form, taking their place.

"Dodoko!" One of Albert's puppets yelled before throwing a small and cute ball to the Herald.

Bam!*

A loud explosion ensued as electrons were unleashed from the bomb.

"Graaaghh—!" The Abyss Herald shrieked in pain as it took the bomb's explosion head-on.

'At this rate, I should have invited Klee too...' Seeing the effectiveness of the bonus, a wry smile appeared on Albert's face. 'Anyways...'

He then took two things out of his system inventory. It was a bow and an arrow.

The bow looked normal, but the arrow's arrowhead seems to be coated in something else. Albert put the arrow in the bow and prepared to shoot. 'Thanks, Amber.'

Woom*

Suddenly, in Albert's view, the world became grey and only the Abyss Herald's figure was seen. However, there was one spot in the Herald's body that was glowing red.

Eagle Vision!

Wiir—*

Albert let go of the string and the arrow shot through the air at an incredible speed. Midway, it started to get caught in a small fire, but it eventually turned into a blazing flame.

'Amber's specialty— Blazing Arrows!' He thought as he saw the arrow successfully hit the Herald.

However, a chill soon ran down his spine that stopped his mood. 'Wait... something isn't right...'

"Everyone, get away!" He commanded his puppets to retreat and they immediately followed.

Woom—*

Hydro began to gather around the Abyss Herald as it began to transform as its body began to glow. Seeing this, Albert immediately recognized what was happening. 'It's the second form...'

"The end... is nigh!" The Abyss Herald roared as blades made from hydro shot out from its body in all directions.

"That so?" Albert smirked before unleashing more Geo elements.

[Elemental Burst: Grand Stage of Life]

Out of nowhere, Geo elements started forming above them and curtains from theaters seemed to have appeared.

In the next moment, the Abyss Herald saw something that intrigued it. "That is..."

"You." Albert finished as he stood behind a Geo construct.

The Geo construct was a product of his elemental burst. It had replicated the Abyss Herald perfectly, down to its details and powers.

Instead of the blue aesthetic of the Abyss Herald, Albert's construct had golden patterns running down its robe.

"Go!" Albert commanded the Geo Herald.

The Geo Herald nodded and unleashed blades from its arms that were also made from Geo.

In a swift movement, it dashed towards the Abyss Herald.

"Hmph, a mere copy..." The Abyss Herald snarled. "Dares to challenge me...?!"

After saying this, the Abyss Herald which was in its second form became even more enraged and charged toward the impostor.

Boom—*

Soon, the two heralds clashed.

* * *

Meanwhile, a person just entered Mondstadt without notifying anyone.

The said person is clad in darkness and half of his face was covered. One recognizable feature about him was the four-pointed star pupils in his eyes.

The man then looked at the Favonius Church in the distance and ran towards it.
