Kapitel 463: Rejected Invitation

Redakteur: Atlas Studios

The books on the second floor were not precious. Most of them were language books, geography books, and history books from Middle-earth. Sorcerers lived for a very long time. For example, the original gray-robed sorcerer, Gandalf, was hundreds of years old.

Wesley didn't have much interest in these books. After all, he wouldn't be living here for long, so Wesley looked up again. Next was the basic magic knowledge of wizards, which was still very practical for Wesley, so Wesley began to read directly.

His horse wandered around the base of the mage tower. The water here made it uncomfortable, so it ran out of Isengard and foraged for its own food in the wilderness. Wesley was lost in his reading, reading every book.

There was no difficulty with the text. The books here were all in the same style, probably handwritten by Saruman. Wesley was quite impressed, but the object of his admiration had been killed by him.

Caught up in his reading, Wesley did not feel the passage of time. Without Wesley's call, his horse kept wandering outside Isengard, but there was a large sound of hooves in the distance, which made the horse a little uneasy. Then it ran back in the direction of the Tower and began to neigh under it.

"Huh? Is it my horse?" Wesley was awakened by the neighing of the horse and found that it was noon the next day. He hurried to the balcony of the mage tower and looked down. The horse was impatient and restless. Then Wesley looked into the distance. There was dust and the rumbling of the hooves could be heard very clearly. Wesley looked at it carefully and it was not difficult to see that it was a human army. So he was relieved and shouted to his horse, which quieted down.

Wesley had no intention of greeting the other party here. He went straight back to reading. He did not have much time. It was best to finish all the books here and take him away without thinking about it. Everything here would inevitably be left to Gandalf, the new White-Robed Wizard.

In the distance came Rohan's army of Hussars, led by King Rohan, Gandalf and Aragorn. They came outside Isengard and found the place in a mess, and the whole of Isengard had been washed by the great water, and there were many puddles. After a night, the initial flood had flowed into the ground, and now Isengard was in ruins, and only the Tower still stood, without the slightest loss.

"What happened here? Who attacked here?" The King of Rohan looked at everything in front of him in surprise and felt that it was very unreal. So did the others, and Éomer was very sensitive to warhorses. He immediately saw Wesley's horse under the mage tower.

"That's Ranger's horse. The man named Wesley is riding that horse. It's a very good horse."

Gandalf looked at the horse. It looked familiar to him, too. It looked like Wesley's original horse, but wasn't it with the elves of Rivendell? Why was it here?

"Let's go in and take a look." In the end, Gandalf decided to go in and take a look. If Wesley took this place, then his strength is inestimable. Even if I am a white-robed wizard now, I am not his opponent.

The army remained outside on guard, while Gandalf and the others rode to the foot of the Tower. Wesley's horse reared and neighed, then its front hooves hit the ground and it paced restlessly.

Wesley could hear clearly from above and knew that someone was coming. He poked his head out again and looked down. "Gandalf? You came back alive?"

Gandalf looked up and saw Wesley. "Did you take this place alone?"

"That's right. I'm interested in the books in the Wizard Tower. Take it down and read it. You're not here to attack, are you?" Wesley was relaxed, but the people below looked at each other. Did he take down this place alone? But looking at the water on the ground, they believed that drowning this place with water was also a way.

"Would you be willing to attack Mordor with us?" Gandalf naturally would not let go of a powerful foreign aid and immediately invited Wesley to go to Mordor with him, but Wesley was not in a good mood.

"I'm not going. Since you don't believe me, it's not worth it for me to go with you. I'm better off reading here. Take care. I won't see you out." Wesley went straight back to the Wizard Tower and continued to read the books he found. He read them once and recorded them directly, then changed to the next one. He was in a hurry now, and he glanced at a page.

Gandalf was reluctant to see Wesley refuse, but he had no choice. They really did not trust Wesley. Otherwise, maybe the Ring should have been given to him. He was so strong, stronger than the Ring, right? But they did not dare to take the risk. He was already so strong. If he got the Ring, could anyone defeat him? It seemed that an army was not enough.

"Let's go!" Gandalf had no choice but to leave with his men.

"He is so strong, we can fight for him again." King Rohan was unwilling to let such a strong helper go.

Gandalf shook his head. "He is a member of our expedition, but we have never trusted him very much. He has always wanted the Ring, and we can only guard against him just in case. Now he is no longer willing to move with us."

"How did this happen? What does he want the Ring for?" Éomer asked.

"I'm not sure. He only said that if we give him the ring, everything will be over. But we don't know how to end it, and his background is unknown. We don't dare to take the risk," Gandalf answered.

"Indeed, it is indeed difficult to win the trust of others. Now there are only our cavalry, how can we attack Mordor?" King Rohan asked with a frown. As they walked out, they discussed how to attack Mordor, but things often happen unexpectedly. In the distance, a horse galloped over.

"Your Majesty, Gondor has sent a distress call. The army of Mordor has attacked their capital." The person who came reported a bad situation. King Rohan and Gandalf and others were surprised, especially Aragorn.

Aragorn was a descendant of the King of Gondor. He had deep feelings for that place, but now he was alone and could only look at King Rohan.

The King of Rohan was in a dilemma. It was already difficult for them to fight against Mordor alone. Now, did they still have to rescue Gondor? How many of their soldiers could come back alive, but they had to go. Gondor's White City had always been at the front line. Although the ancient alliance had collapsed, now was not the time to close the door and protect themselves. Once Sauron got the ring, all of them would be finished.
