Kapitel 402: World War II

Redakteur: Atlas Studios

Wesley explained his insights. Of course, he was talking about Roosevelt's new policy, but it was more comprehensive and a lot more. Roosevelt was very happy. Wesley's approval gave him confidence. After all, the genius general was still a genius, but he was more mature now.

After a friendly conversation between the two sides, Roosevelt quickly issued a series of policies, which gave the outside world the impression that Wesley had given him enough advice, and the impression that Wesley supported the new president spread.

Wesley didn't care about that. If he said it, he would admit that he did support Roosevelt. Wesley also proposed to repeal the Chinese Exclusion Act and guarantee fair treatment for multiethnic Americans. This was also very good for the development of the economy and was also proposed for future X-Men.

Roosevelt was very hesitant. This bill was very difficult for him to repeal at the moment. At the moment, he did not have enough prestige to complete this matter. Wesley expressed his understanding of this and the two of them decided to wait until the American economy improved before acting.

In 1933, Wesley was forty years old. He and Ruan Ling had no children, but their relationship was good enough. Ruan Ling went home after filming, while Wesley went home every day.

That year, Germany began to recover, and Japan began to speed up its invasion of China. Wesley knew that World War II was not far off. He began to step up his preparations. First, the construction of the Navy carrier. The original four medium-sized carriers had been completed several years ago, forming combat power and tactics. Now it was time to develop and grow.

The latest aircraft carrier, Wesley, had built a diagonal deck directly, but no catapult was installed. After all, the aircraft now were not jets. The best was Wesley's copy of the P-51 Mustang fighter. The base here had been further perfected in the two major islands occupied by the Pacific United States. A naval squadron was stationed here, and with land-based aircraft, it would be very difficult to break through. Wesley had basically taken the door of Japan into his own hands and was just waiting for the day to launch.

In 1937, Wesley was forty-four years old. Ruan Ling gave him a pair of twins. The boy had blond hair and the girl had black hair. Wesley was very happy. The boy named Carlos and the girl named Mindy. He began to miss his family again. However, he did not show it. After all, there was a home here now.

Ri Ben began a full-scale invasion of China that year. Wesley did not do much. No matter how good he was, he could not decide the direction of the United States. He could only wait for the full outbreak of World War II.

On September 1, 1939, Germany invaded Poland and World War II broke out. Wesley was 46 years old that year, and his two children were already learning to speak. Ruan Ling temporarily stopped her film career and focused on being a mother.

Wesley put on his general's uniform. He was now a three-star general. He had worked hard to get there. After all, there was no war, and it was difficult for a general to get promoted, especially when it came to his age. When he came to Washington again, there were a lot of people this time. Marshall, who had received Wesley, was the chief of staff of the United States Army. He was a major general of rank and temporarily held the rank of general.

"General!" Marshall saluted, and Wesley saluted back.

Now all the United States had to discuss was how to deal with this war. Wesley knew this very well, but he needed to change it. How he changed it would depend on today's development.

The Congressional Hall was full of people. A lot of MPs and soldiers had come. Admiral Harold R. Stark had come too. He sat with Wesley. The Navy and Wesley had always had a very good relationship, and Wesley designed all of the Navy's active ships.

Roosevelt began to preside over the meeting. "Gentlemen, another great war has begun. Europe will be in flames again, and I would like to hear your opinions on how we should deal with it this time."

A congressman stood up and said, "Do you still need to ask? Of course it's to sell firearms and supplies. I think the order will come soon." There was a lot of discussion below, and everyone agreed with this. Wesley doesn't know what Roosevelt is thinking now, but he won't let the Japanese make the first move. Then the price of accepting it is too high.

"I have some different views." Wesley stood up. He was dressed in a military uniform, and his mature face was even more charming. Until now, Wesley had received a lot of love letters every year. He had written a lot to girls, but he had burned them all.

Wesley had not spoken here for many years, but his original speech was still talked about by people until now. Many people were looking forward to it. Roosevelt smiled and said, "Let our general speak. We haven't heard his voice for many years." His actions sent another signal to people that Wesley supported the current president.

Wesley thought nothing of it. There was nothing wrong with supporting Roosevelt. He needed his support just the same. He had not met a good president in the previous presidents except for President Wilson.

Wesley walked up generously and then said, "I agree with what that congressman said just now, just like we did in the First World War." The congressman below laughed, but Wesley would not just say that. Everyone laughed and immediately waited quietly for the rest.

"But the situation is a little different now. The flames of war are actually not far from us. We need to divide the war into two parts. The first is naturally the European battlefield, which gathers many developed countries in the world. It is a good place for us to do business when they fight. Do you agree with me?" Wesley asked.

"Of course, please continue, General," a senator shouted.

"Okay, then the second one is Asia. There is only one Japan here. I said before that sooner or later, Japan will go to fight Britain. Now it just happens to happen. This is their characteristic, which has not changed for thousands of years." Wesley paused for a moment and then said, "So what are we going to do now? Do their business and continue to sell them scrap steel and oil? Do they have money? Compared to the Chinese market, do they have a lot of money? Is it really worth it for them to rob China and then come to us to buy things?"

Wesley didn't say anything that meant anything. Those things were of no use to Capital America at all. Instead, he did the math for them, and the MPs began to calculate below.

"Gentlemen, we have to join this war, and this war will make the United States the world's largest country. But we need to think about how to do it and how to maximize our interests. This is a question we need to consider. I am also a businessman. Here, I will not analyze it from a military point of view, but from a businessman's point of view."
