Kapitel 407: Coach… No, Captain, I Don't Play Anymore!

Redakteur: Atlas Studios

It is because Ivan knows this that he is so careful. He does not want Peter Pettigrew, the only witness, to turn into Barty Crouch Jr…

After listening to Ivan, Lupin paced back and forth in the small office, his frown never leaving his face.

"Well, as you say, we'll have to tread carefully. But even so, we should arrest Peter first. It's too dangerous to keep him with Harry!"

Upon learning that Peter was now Ron's pet in his rat form, Lupin became worried.

It was Gryffindor's dormitory, and it was full of young wizards and witches. If Peter got angry there would be terrible consequences… as evidenced by the street that had been bombed!

"I used the Memory Charm on Peter to make him forget things he shouldn't remember. Peter has been a rat for more than ten years, so unless he's pushed too far or his life is in danger, he's unlikely to suddenly fly into a rage."

Ivan shook his head and explained that Peter could not reveal himself as long as he wanted to live.

Then Ivan continued.

"I have a plan for Peter's location before Professor Dumbledore's return. I'm already working on the cage that will hold Peter. It will only take a few days!"

Ivan knew all too well how cunning and forbearing Peter could be. Once Peter became alarmed, it would not be easy to keep him under control.

The only way to be safe was to put a Stunning Charm on Peter several times a day, but Ivan was still a little worried that Peter would starve to death.

Therefore, he was more inclined to use the same method Barty Crouch Jr. used to imprison Mad-Eye Moody, to create a cage for him to be locked in and watched over by someone else, or to carry it around with him!

Ivan had Dobby purchase the ingredients for the cage, and it would be ready in a few days.

According to Ivan's calculations, it would be just in time for Harry and Sirius to meet, after which he could simply put Peter in a cage and leave him in Sirius' care.

Ivan told Lupin the rest of his plan, and Lupin thought for a moment before speaking.

"Hales, if you have a plan, follow it. Let me know if you need any help!"

Ivan's plan had been well thought out, and Lupin could not think of a better way to deal with it. Changing it at the last minute could lead to mistakes.

However, looking at the thirteen-year-old wizard in front of him, Lupin was impressed. Ivan was better than he had expected.

He was able to use a Marauder's Map to discover Peter, who had been hiding for many years, and boldly contact Sirius to find out the truth.

It was even possible to take into account the Ministry's next moves and plan accordingly, a feat of intelligence and skill that Lupin would have found hard to imagine in an underage wizard.

The two of them discussed for a while and agreed on some details before Ivan left.

After convincing Lupin with unusual ease, Ivan felt refreshed. It was not easy to find someone to talk to about a secret that had been locked away for so long.

On the way back to the Gryffindor Lounge from the professor's office, Ivan was shocked by what he saw when he opened the door.

Wood, George, and the others were dressed in golden-red Quidditch robes, including Harry.

They were all holding brooms and looked ready to go to war. When Ivan opened the door, George and Fred greeted him happily, patting him on the shoulder.

"Hales! We've been waiting for you. You're finally back!"

"Um… Professor Lupin suddenly had something to do with me, so he came back a little late," Ivan explained. He then looked at their neat clothes and couldn't help but complain.

"What's the matter with you guys? Trying to play Quidditch in the lounge?"

"No, we just think it's more ceremonial!" George said solemnly, shaking his head.

"Yes! I think it will remind you of what it was like to fight alongside everyone last year!" Fred tried to look serious.

Harry and the others looked embarrassed, as they felt they should never have agreed to George and Fred's apparently nonsensical suggestion, but it was too late to back out.

Therefore, they could only bite the bullet and speak to Ivan despite the gazes of the young wizards in the lounge.

"Hales… come back and play with us! Only you can save this game!"

"Yeah, and you don't want to see us lose this year's Quidditch Cup, do you?"

The Gryffindor players tried to calm him down, and Ivan had a strange expression on his face. He wanted to complain, but seeing how serious everyone was, he swallowed his words.

"Ivan, after everything we've talked about, don't you feel your blood boiling and your body on fire?" George asked when Ivan didn't respond.

It took him and Fred a long time to come up with such an "emotional" method of persuasion, and a long time to convince everyone to go through with the plan.

At this moment, Captain Wood pulled George and the others away and walked straight to Ivan. He placed his hands on Ivan's shoulders and spoke excitedly.

"Hales! This is a most desperate time. Gryffindor needs you!

Whatever you want, just name it! As long as we get this year's Quidditch trophy… I'll give you my captaincy!"

Wood sounded very sincere. This was his last year at Hogwarts, and he didn't want to leave any regrets…

"I'm sorry… Captain! You should know that I've made up my mind not to play!" Ivan sighed helplessly. He had been thinking about how to deal with Peter Pettigrew recently and was in no mood to play Quidditch!

Not to mention, Ivan knew very well that Gryffindor had won this year's Quidditch Cup in the original timeline. He would be the same without him!

However, after being refused by Ivan, Wood did not give up, instead assiduously trying to persuade him otherwise.

George and the others joined in, adding fuel to the fire, as if Ivan's absence would lead to a major crisis in the wizarding community…

For a moment, Ivan had the illusion that he was going to save the world instead of playing a Quidditch game…
