Hours turned into days, and the Kingdom of Macbeth became peaceful once again. Other Kingdoms who once rejected to import food and other materials to them started asking for an apology after they discovered that the Kingdom of Vallat was on good terms with the Kingdom of Macbeth.
The news of people dying was heard no more. There was no more scarcity of food and the Kingdom never lacked. King Lexis turned down the people that once turned him down. They called him a proud King after the success of Macbeth.
King Lexis was overwhelmed. His wife was overjoyed but their happiness didn't last any longer as they were both thinking about their daughter; Ariel. Who knows if she's in good hands?
"I hope she's fine." King Lexis said to his wife. They were both depressed.
Meanwhile, Ariel on the other hand just regained her consciousness after she passed out. She struggled to get her eyes opened. After all her struggles she finally opened it and the first person she saw was the King of Vallat, her so-called husband.
She sat on the bed and hugged her legs as if she was scared of the man. The King saw that she was trembling and sat beside her. He didn't look like someone worried.
"You're awake!" He said still with a serious expression on his face.
"Yes. How long have I been sleeping and where am I?" Ariel asked. She was surprised to wake up in a large and extravagant room with a change of clothes.
"You've been sleeping for three days and this is your room. The maids are responsible for your change of clothes." He spoke firmly.
Ariel examined his face properly and found a mark on his cheek. He had two marks on his face; one across his eyebrow and one on his cheek. Maybe he got the marks while fighting a war. She thought.
The King stood up to leave, at least he showed a little concern for her as per the Prophetess' orders. She was mad at him the previous time.
"Wait" Ariel spoke with a faint voice and he halted and turned to her.
"What is it?" He spoke harshly.
"I have a few questions. First I'll like to know your name."
The King rubbed his temple as if not wanting her to know his name. Should he answer her or not? He let out a deep breath after making the decision. Ariel was staring at him with a confused look. She wondered why he was taking the time to tell her his name.
"I'm Vladimir." He said. "You can ask your questions later when you're healthy. I also want to talk to you about the laid down rules and regulations."
"..."
Seeing that she didn't respond further he turned to leave. Ariel was now all alone in her spacious room. She looked a little while on the bed. It was times two of what she had in the Kingdom of Macbeth. She managed to stand up to check around the room before she remembered that she didn't bring any of her clothes and a frown plastered on her face.
Ariel heard a knock on her door and a female voice was heard. She ordered the person to come in. Her door creaked open and two women rushed into the room. One of them had a well-arranged dress on her while the other was holding a shoe.
"My Lady." The women gave their curtsey and introduced themselves as Nadia and Sabre. They'll be her new hand's maid. Since Ariel didn't like being in the company of people, she hesitated at first before she agreed to them in becoming her hand's maid. Ariel hoped she'll get used to them because she only had Thana back in her father's Kingdom.
"You can call me Princess Ariel." She said with a smile. Although her husband was a King, she hasn't been ordained as the Queen of Vallat.
"We dare not address you by ur name, My Lady." Nadia was the one to speak.
Ariel was confused by Nadia's reply. Isn't there a title attached to her name? Ariel's smile disappeared.
"We'll show you round the room," Sabre said and Ariel quickly stood up to follow them.
First, they showed her to the bathroom and then to the walk-in closet. Ariel was amazed to see a lot of clothes inside the closet. She didn't mind if they were her size or not because the dresses were beautiful same goes for the shoes.
"You don't have to worry about the sizes," Nadia said with her head down.
"Oh"
After touring around her room, what took her unawares was the pieces of jewelry in a big jewelry box. They were all made of diamond and silver. Only a few were made of gold. Ariel thought of how rich the King was for him to arrange all of these for her. She was excited.
The maids handed over the dress and the shoe they brought for her. "The King wants you to wear this for dinner," Sabre informed her.
Ariel gazed at the dress in her hand. It was a red gown with beautiful styles. The gown wasn't plain because of the designs and it got a matching shoe. Ariel wasn't used to wearing gowns except if she had to wear them for an important occasion. She was the tomboy type which was weird but who was she to protest or go against the powerful King of Vallat's orders?
Ariel refused the maids' help when they wanted to bathe her.
"I'm not a kid, I'm an adult and I can bath myself" Ariel protested this time around.
"My Lady, we're here to serve you. The King won't be pleased if you do anything on your own. Meanwhile, we're going to lose our job if we disobey him." Nadia said with a slight frown on her face.
Ariel couldn't help but let them do as they please. Finally, she got dressed. The red dress suits her. Her long hair was decorated with some hair clips. The maids escorted her to the dining hall where she saw the King again.
She sat on his right side and was amazed by the kind of food that was present on the table. Different species of food were served as the servants didn't know what their new mistress would like.
King Vladimir saw the amazement in Ariel's eyes and motioned her to eat. King Vladimir didn't spare her a glance afterward.
