Kapitel 565: Friends Turned Enemies

Max roared in fury, unleashing a surge of electricity that sent nearby police cars flying. Spider-Man tried to shoot webs to stop him, but he didn't expect the webs to conduct electricity, which sent him flying back.

Electro's powers were formidable. The more electricity he absorbed, the greater the destruction he could cause. It seemed like he was immune to conventional physical attacks, making close combat impossible. After exchanging a few blows, Spider-Man had to find a way to evacuate the innocent bystanders.

Meanwhile, Electro began absorbing electricity again, draining the power from Times Square and plunging it into darkness. Having consumed such a massive amount of power, Max seemed like a god descended to earth, walking on air with ease and sending furious bolts of electricity into the crowd below, as if delivering divine punishment.

Just as he was flaunting his power, Spider-Man returned, this time with the fire department. They targeted Electro with high-pressure water hoses, successfully knocking him from the sky. Spider-Man high-fived the firefighters around him in celebration, having cleverly found a way to counter Electro's powers.

Max lay on the ground, cursing Spider-Man under his breath. Once a fervent fan of Spider-Man, he now harbored a deep hatred for him.

Spider-Man averted the crisis once again, receiving cheers and applause from the crowd. Yet, his eyes only sought Gwen. He swung to her on his web, wanting to ask her to stay, but couldn't find the words and ultimately turned away.

Gwen was about to study abroad, while Spider-Man's friend, Harry Osborn, had just returned from overseas to inherit the multi-billion-dollar OsCorp.

Norman Osborn, the founder of OsCorp and Harry's father, was on his deathbed, which prompted him to call his son back from abroad. Harry was full of resentment towards his dying father, having been sent to boarding schools and then abroad, rarely experiencing fatherly love or familial warmth.

On his deathbed, Norman Osborn explained the truth to his son. The Osborn family had a genetic disease that would manifest at Harry's age, gradually depriving them of their autonomy. Norman had been too preoccupied with finding a cure for this genetic disease, but ultimately failed.

Even with the vast wealth of OsCorp, they couldn't escape the torment of the disease. Although young, Harry was already showing symptoms and was terrified.

Before passing away, Norman Osborn handed Harry a USB drive, claiming it was his most precious legacy, more valuable than the billion-dollar company.

Soon after, Norman Osborn died, and the young Harry Osborn became the new head of OsCorp. But he was not happy, faced with the threat of the genetic disease and the challenge of gaining the company's upper management's trust. Around this time, Peter Parker visited him.

Knowing about his friend's father's death, Spider-Man rushed to comfort Harry, though he feared the social and class differences would prevent his friend from accepting him. But Harry made time to talk with him.

Wanda shrugged as she watched, "Your world's Osborn family is different from another one. No matter which Harry Osborn it is, he has always been Spider-Man's friend. But remember, in another parallel universe, the Osborn father and son are the Green Goblin—Spider-Man's enemies."

"Uh, the Harry I know wouldn't turn bad, right?" Peter Parker scratched his head.

Wanda raised an eyebrow, "Seriously, can't you see if OsCorp is good or bad by now? As its founder, Norman Osborn wasn't a saint. He might have ordered the hit on your parents!"

Hearing this, Peter Parker frowned. He was smart enough to figure out these possibilities even without Wanda's words. Shaking his head, he said, "No matter what, Harry is Harry. I believe in him."

While he spoke, the video showed Harry Osborn turning his attention to Spider-Man. From the USB drive left by his father, he discovered the mutated spider project developed by Peter Parker's father, intended to cure their genetic disease. Unfortunately, the project had failed.

But Spider-Man was an exception!

Harry Osborn approached Peter Parker, hoping he could help him find Spider-Man. He didn't see through Peter's secret identity but deduced from the exclusive photos in the newspaper that his friend knew the popular vigilante.

He didn't hide his intentions from Peter, openly stating that only Spider-Man's blood could save him from the family disease. This put Peter in a difficult position because his blood might not safely integrate into Harry's body, potentially turning him into a monstrous lizard-like creature.

But Harry saw Spider-Man's blood as his last hope. Desperate to save his life, he begged Peter, who couldn't refuse his plea and agreed to help find Spider-Man.

Meanwhile, Gwen was interning at OsCorp. She had met Max once and, after the Electro incident, suspected his identity. Deciding to investigate, she discovered that OsCorp had covered up all information about Max, their usual method of handling scandals.

Gwen's investigation caught OsCorp's attention, and they planned to deal with her. Sensing the danger, she fled and coincidentally ran into Peter, who had just had a fallout with Harry Osborn.

They hid in a small shed, avoiding the security guards looking for trouble, and shared information. They couldn't let go of their feelings for each other but had to part ways.

At this moment, the video paused, and a question appeared:

[Will Harry Osborn eventually turn against Spider-Man/peter Parker?]

[A: Yes

B: No]

Seeing the question, Peter Parker's eyes widened as he muttered, "No, no, Harry wouldn't do that. The answer must be B!"
