The ground cried out with bitter tears while the sky wept with blood. The extreme frost that turns everything into unbreakable ice raged across the ruins, clashing with corrosion that was eating away any energy on its path.
The mixture of green and white destroyed everything on its path, creating huge scars everywhere.
Two kings didn't stop battling for days, trying to murder each other with limitless bloodlust. Their powers were enough to overthrow the continent's greatest countries as doomsday laid before their eyes.
However, they didn't notice something. A single man was silently observing their moves, waiting for his chance to end this madness once and for all. His body was covered with living runes and he could feel he was no longer human or dead. He was a mage that was destined to walk alone in the empty fields of destruction. He already cut away his string of fate, shedding his mortal shackles to stop this madness in exchange for his life.
The moment had finally come as two kings were weakened as they tore away each other like hungry beasts.
The mage secretly sneaked behind the hills, while rummaging through his belongings. He took out the scroll that would cast a debuff on them. Although he was confident about ancient magic, he needed to safer method in case of emergency.
" Now!"
As the dawn closed on them, the mage jolted out from the hills, ripping the scrolls. His sudden move caught them off guard and they knelt on the ground with puzzlement. They turned their head around and saw a man dashing toward them. For some reason, they wanted to move, but these magics were no joke since they were forbidden grade magic.
The time wasn't on their side as the mage stood in the middle of the battle. His runes were activated when he started chanting.
The azure chains spurted out from the ground, chaining them down to the ground. They used their weapons and powers to destroy these shackles, but they seemed to be living as they coiled around them.
" You dare to use primordial magic against me? I will kill you."
Castella growled, pulling the chain. However, the chains kept his body stuck and he knew the reasons. He saw the runes on his body and realized this man was using magic that was created from the first eclipse of the universe. Therefore, it was meaningless to struggle.
" You must have paid a huge price for such tricks."
Makarov understood this man wasn't simple. Because there was no means to free himself, he wanted to know about this spell in order to free himself later.
" You are right. I gave up my fate as a mortal to learn these magics. I will love forever with these damned shackles like you, but mine is harder and it is invisible "
He sighed with helplessness, telling the truth to them. The two kings didn't say anything anymore as they accepted their seal because this man was worth respect. He perfectly planned for this moment and used his own life as a bargain to seal them away.
" I see. If my eyes aren't wrong, you are that child who used to follow Ephirion. He said you are a talent that outshines many."
Castella shook his head. He was sure that their subordinates would release them one day, so he wanted to know this mage.
The mage's pupils shook because he saw the king's image in him, but he was dead. The king before him is nothing but a shell that was left by the glorious king. He was neither magnificent nor benevolent as he was the shadow of his former self, a being who was twisted by hatred.
" We will meet one day and I assure you that I will stop you once again."
He didn't mention his child or people since there was no meaning. The dead would lose their human feelings over time unless they reach a form that is special enough to suppress their racial traits.
The ground covered their bodies as they sunk into the ground, but the mage knew it was far from over. The dead would awaken soon and so do others. He needs to protect this world from such beings.
