The officers taped the crime scene while taking pictures of the corpse and crime area with their cameras. Although it wasn't exquisite as the professional and luxurious cameras in the market, their camera had a great quality that could show the pictures in high quality.
Colena sat next to the priest who was still looking outside hollow with those dead eyes. She could feel his frustration and self-blame for not being able to save his child.
" Father. It isn't your fault. You couldn't possibly have done anything in that situation. He was one of the most notorious hitmen in the industry, known for his ruthless personality."
She spoke, taking out a small bottle of milk from her bag as she handed it to him. Colena loved drinking milk since she was young and she believed giving milk to others was a good way to cheer them up.
The priest took the milk and gazed at it with a dazed look. He questioned whether it was right to sit here and do nothing. Perhaps, it was better to go out there and do something about this sooner or later. No one knew when they would come again and what they would do again.
" Thank you, my child. I have a favor to ask. Could you look after my children after I cleanse my mind from this?"
He said, getting up from the ground with determination in his eyes. Colena smiled brightly when she saw his look. She thought she had cheered him up.
" Of course. Take your time outside."
She said, placing a few coins in his pocket, not caring about the thought of the priest. She thought it didn't matter whether he use it for a drink or not, as long as he could clear his head.
The priest didn't refuse her kindness because it was necessary for the next course of action. His eyes were filled with gentle yet blazing flames that were known as justice.
" I thank you for your kindness."
He said, walking towards the exit while thinking about the place that he never thought he would go.
Suddenly, two children ran to him and hugged his legs with a worried look. They were Yvonne and Yeager who heard about the death of their alumni. They rushed back to their home as fast as they could since they knew the priest was a kind man whose love was bigger than everyone.
" Father, where are you going?"
Yeager asked, believing the priest was up to something due to his nature. He was sure that the priest would do something about this.
" I am going to get some vegetables from the market in the upper district. Don't worry about me."
He spoke while patting the heads of the children with a soft tone. His tone imm calmed down the hearts of the young children.
" Then are we having stew tonight?"
Yvonne asked innocently, trusting in his words from the deep of her heart.
" Of course. The stew sounds good."
The priest laughed while taking them off his legs.
" Are you sure he is alright? We can't be too overconfident."
Mark crossed his arms, remembering the face of the old priest. He could tell he was thinking something in his mind, hence he was really careful.
Colena smirked when she heard his concern because he was a rough guy who never bothered himself, but he was clearly showing his gentle side to them now which was rare for him. Mark was a troublemaker whom she had to clean after his work.
" I am sure he will be fine. He is a Saint like a person."
She replied, pondering inside her mind. Nonetheless, it would be a better idea if she put some surveillance on him.
Mark shook his head with confusion, somehow feeling tangled inside. He remembered the infamous Deacon who shot the man through the door without any problem.
" Intern. Bring me some drink."
Mark shouted, looking at Johnathan. Johnathan gulped because he saw Mark's eyes which he found menacing. It was no wonder that other officers feared him because he wasn't a gentle person like Colena.
" Aye, sir! I will bring iced soda."
Johnathan saluted, quickly rushing to grab some drink for the man. He knew he had to hurry, otherwise, this man would rough him up.
