Wang said, veins bulging out from his forehead. His fists were clenched tightly and his face lost it. His calm demeanor was nowhere to be seen except all that was left was his fury.
Burn*
Everything around him was burned by his pure qi. His qi was bright and hot as the sun unlike Pi's whose was crushing and violent.
" We need to go to the temple. If something bad happened there, we need to call other elders and the headmaster with them."
Wang gnashed his teeth while trying to find the other pieces of the clue.
Pi took a deep breath and looked up to the temple. With a single jump, he reached the end of the stairs that reached the clouds. He stepped on the air and used his pure muscle strength to use the air as the threshold.
The temple gate was smashed into pieces along with its template. Two giant statues of the trees were burned into ashes as the invader seemed to warn what was waiting beyond the vision of his.
There was no smell of the cherry blossom which used to welcome their arrival every time when they come back home. Charred woods, and smashed walls awaited his arrival without a single wind of a living being.
" Our home!"
Pi whispered, touching the soil of the temple with a poker face. He no longer paid attention to the gate as he ventured into the temple with a serious face.
His eyes were locked in only one direction which was the center of the temple. Dust was swirling around him as he walked to the center. The crackling sound of the wood could be heard beneath his foot.
" Lao, that fool didn't clean the temple. Lua, where is my lunch?"
He shouted, expecting a cheerful sound from the center. His eyes were getting red from the sadness since he knew the result prior to his arrival. He recalled the face of Shanu who always smiled with his students.
He used to nag him for not caring about his clothes and his money. He even remembered the moment when Shanu handed his money to him with a reluctant face.
" Fool! Your students aren't here. How am I supposed to protect them if they aren't here in the mortal realm?"
He cried, looking at the withered tree with grief. He leaned on the tree while waiting for Wang who would be arriving soon. His hands went limp as they hang down.
His face was downcast and his face was red from the crying. He wiped his tears with his sleeves as he looked around him to find the silhouette of the guardian, but only silence waited for him.
" Pi!"
Wang shouted, waking up from his daydream. Pi stood up from his place and looked at him with a forced smile. However, his face changed when he saw someone was Wang's hands.
It was Lua who was sleeping peacefully in his arms. Wang was holding with his utmost care.
" Is she alright?"
Pi asked, expecting confirmation from his face. Wang gently nodded his head while putting her down on the blanket. He carefully wrapped her in a warm sheet and watched her.
She was sleeping soundly under his observation. Moreover, he found a particular smell from her. Wang checked her pulse and affirmed his suspicion. He frowned.
" Do you feel her energy? She became a spirit."
Wang said, caressing her head. His rough palm soothed the shattered mind of Lua who was in hibernation.
" But how is that possible? Humans cannot become a spirit. We are made from flesh, not from mana."
Pi whispered while placing his beads on her body to cool down her. It was impossible to humans possess the might of the spirit who were children of the world itself. Their existence was formed from the purest essence of the world.
On the other hand, humans distanced themselves from their ancestors. Therefore, they didn't possess pure energy like their ancestors who boasted to have the greatest magic.
" It is possible if the initiator possesses a power that can affect the law of the world like celestials. Harmony possessed a such power."
Wang lowered his face, turning his head in the direction of the withered tree.
