The dark spirit howled with pain, not knowing what happened to it. His eyes showed his fear and confusion about his situation. He couldn't comprehend what was happening to him, what was killing him.
" You, monster!"
He said in a broken voice that could raise one's hair. His shadow stretched up to his arms as he blended it with his blade and he stitched his body up.
Drip*
Drop of blood fell to the ground. The dark spirit looked towards his hand with hesitation. The pain coursed through his body, indicating what happened to his arm that was holding the sword.
Drop*
The arm was sliced neatly from his shoulder. Blood didn't gush out from the sudden slice, it just flowed through his arms down to his body.
Grey looked at him with mockery and despise. He kicked the arm that was sticking near to his leg. His face showed no remorse or regret.
" A being like should be destroyed from existence. Return to the place where you belong."
He said, sheathing his sword back. Before the dark spirit could utter words, his body was decomposed into hundreds of pieces and turned into dust.
Shwaa*
A single red dot appeared on the Grey's arm. He glanced at it briefly and continued to walk towards the destination where he was supposed to go. His robe gently fluttered in the wind as he walked away from his feelings.
" Wait!"
Suddenly, he heard a cry from the man. He knew whose voice it was. However, he didn't have a relation with him personally, so he decided to walk away.
Reach*
A hand grabbed his shoulder to hinder his movements. The hand was filled with bruises, scratches, and burns. It was disgusting and deformed.
Grey looked back and saw a man who was panting from the outburst of his speed. He was sweating a lot due to the high heat of the area, but his eyes weren't dead as the dark spirit, instead, it was full of will.
" You aren't Lao, are you? I don't know who you are and why you have a face like his, but I have to thank you for saving us. We owe you our lives."
The Mayor said, tears dripping down from his charred face. He was grateful to see someone was helping them with their needs.
Grey didn't heed his words seriously. He was indifferent to these humans, but some part of him said it was alright. He raised his hand and dusted the mayor.
" He said he was thankful for your service in his last breath. Also, Lao told me that he would always remember you."
Grey spoke, looking at him with a poker face. The mayor fell to his knees and burst into tears. He understood what happened to the elder and Lao from his words.
" So, they have departed to the embrace of the spirits. That kid was too young to die."
He cried out, questioning the world for his death, but no one answered him. Grey was already nowhere to be seen. He had no reason to stay in this place. Lingering feelings of Lao were already fading away into the void of his heart. The only that left to do was hunt those who negate the world. Whether good or evil, he will hunt down every single spirit who were wreaking havoc on this continent. His hunger was nowhere to be satisfied.
The elder monks were rallying back to their homes with a solemn attitude. They knew what happened to Shanu and they were preparing to negotiate with the order.
" Ah, I am so hungry. I need to eat meat."
The brawny elder shouted, demanding food from his colleagues. He wasn't humble or serious like others, he was more free-spirited than others.
" Hush, we will reach our home in a few days. We have to meet the spirit of the forest to understand what is going in."
The blind monk replied, placing his beads between his palms. He felt the atmosphere of the spirit realm was chaotic and the spirits seemed to be afraid of something. Even the great spirits were hiding something from them, so he decided to pay a visit to the ancient spirit.
