Licht gritted his teeth and faced them with resolution.
" I will stay here. To complete the mission and return for me."
He said with a serious gaze as he put his sword on the ice to keep them together. His determination immediately ignited the fierce argument between Leah and Cynthia. Cynthia couldn't leave him alone due to her kind-hearted nature, but Leah was focused on the mission.
" Cynthia, we have to complete the mission. Otherwise, our other members will be in danger if something unprecedented happens to them."
She spoke with a stern gaze. She even placed her hand on her dagger. However, Licht didn't give them enough time to decide.
" What are you waiting for? Go!"
He said loudly despite the fact there was a chance that it could cause an avalanche in this fragile environment.
Cynthia was taken aback by his will. She closed her eyes and bit her lips.
" I will come back."
She said while heading towards the destination. She understood Licht's intentions.
As for Lisha, she didn't move an inch. She even refused to go with them because she expressed it would be more feasible if there were two people here while holding the ice with their magic.
Leah and Cynthia agreed to her proposal without any expression since Licht was with her. He would never leave his prey.
" Alright, you have said it."
Leah said while following Cynthia to the marked destination. She nodded at Licht as she turned her body around.
" Your teammates are lovely people. If our people show mercy, it will be regarded as an act of weakness. We all believe in strength and winter."
Lisha spoke with a light smile on her beautiful face. She never looked away from Licht even for a moment. Her eyes were glued to his body like it was prying into his depth. However, she couldn't see through this young boy. There was a mist thing that was obstructing her sharp eyes.
Licht was staring at her with puzzlement. He wasn't available to guess this obnoxious girl's thoughts. She seemed to be a normal girl, but her intelligence was enough to rival his own. Furthermore, her strength was enough to make anyone vigilant against her. Licht spotted countless scars on her fingers. Especially, her thumb and index finger were covered with scars which indicated that she was an experienced archer. She couldn't hide her eyes.
" Do you want to stand there while acting like it is a grave matter for both of us?"
Licht said with suspicion. His amber eyes were burning with unknown colors.
Lisha tilted her head with confusion. She burst out with laughter as she tied her hair back. She was amused to hear such daring words.
" So, how did you figure it out? Although your teammates were cautious, they couldn't solidify their suspicion. Particularly, that red-haired girl was glaring daggers at me."
She said lightly. Her mischievous smile was full of self-confidence.
Licht sighed. Originally, he didn't feel anything from her except for the chilly air, but something grew inside him bigger and bigger. It was a freezing feeling that he got from that wolf. It was invading his whole body.
" You couldn't hide your aura and eyes. I am one of a kind."
He said with a wry smile. He wasn't lying about his uniqueness though. He was a person that could feel others' talents.
" Hmm, well that's okay for now. I do have a way to get out of this situation, but you have to accept my one request later."
She said while grinning. Her blue eyes were locked with his eyes.
Licht knew he couldn't lie in front of her.
" Alright. I owe you one, but it must not be a ridiculous request like assassination or crime-related thing."
Licht spoke with a serious look on his face. He wasn't sure Lisha would accept this because like she said before it was always strength in the northern tribes. Hence, she might request an assassination or even duel against her opponent since she was a high-ranking heir.
However, he forgot one thing. Lisha wasn't a typical northern tribesman. She had a different brain cell from her relatives. She was a girl who could change the future of the north.
Yep, couldn't make it. Now, I have more troubles on my head. Sigh
