The cold look in Gon's eyes scared her; she thought that Gon was the more innocent of the three boys, and it was why she felt if she had to run, attacking Gon would be her best choice. But the look in Gons' eyes now gave her a sense of Dajavu. She knew that look; it was the same look she had seen when she looked at herself in the mirror. It was the look of someone who would go to any length to kill the one that hurt the most important person to them; just as she was doing, it was a promise that she would have her revenge. She saw that same resolute and undeniable conviction in his eyes.
(sight)
She gave up; maybe she had a semblance of a plan to betray them if whatever plan they came up with didn't work. Seeing the look in the boys' eyes told her that if she continued her plans, she would never get her revenge.
"Okay, you guys win; I won't do anything, but whatever plan we do come up with, I want to be the only one to kill that man," Jess said darkly.
Gon calmed down after she said that and returned to the innocent, smiling, stupid face he always wore. While the whole thing was happening, Jett studied Jess's expressions. In stressful situations like the one they were in right now, people would often act rashly, but he was still able to feel the dangerous feeling of the gun that had been pointing at him leave him; Jett guessed she had shifted the angle to aim at Gon the moment he looked at her with killing intent because he could see Gon's aura was surrounding his body in anticipation.
"Then shouldn't you show a bit of trust?" Killua said, knowing that she still had her gun pointing at them.
"Fair enough," she said while also deactivating her technique.
"With that done..., can you still contact the Phantom Troupe? It would make it easier if we could just hire that woman again after we capture Lurks," Jett asks, moving on from their confrontation. If they could just hire the Phantom Troupe without any other trouble, it would make things less difficult.
"Maybe we can hire them, but those people are dangerous. They are all Nen masters. If they turn on us, we won't survive," she said.
"She's right; my father once told me to stay away from the Troupe as assassin targets; he said they weren't worth the pay," Killua added.
"We're going to have to try. Do you still have a way to contact them?" Jett asked, looking at Jess.
"I do, but if you want to hire them, you're going to need a lot of money. The last time I hired them, it cost me ten billion Jenny," Jess added.
"Ten Billion?!" Gon exclaims. Jett is also surprised, but after thinking about it, he isn't too surprised. People like the Phantom Troupe wouldn't do anything for just a few thousand or millions. They didn't have that much money, not even after coming out of the Battle Tower. Killua is also surprised, but not as much since his family was also paid that much or even more after getting an assassination request.
Jess was thinking of a plan when she noticed that the scene had suddenly become quiet; she saw all three boys looking expectantly at her.
"If you're expecting me to have that much money, then you're dreaming; I used all my life savings only to hire one of them; if they were that easy to hire, I would have paid them to find and kill that damn man," Jess said.
"Then we need to come up with something else. For now, let's see if you can still contact them. As for us, Killua, can you try to find out more information about the game?" Jett planned.
"I can contact my brother, his a game addict I'm sure he would know more about it," Killua said, he had already planned to contact his brother.
"That's good," Jett said.
"What about me, Jett?" Gon asked, feeling left out.
"You? Well, I have something for you to do, but that can wait for later," Jett said.
"If we can't hire her then we are going to have to capture her in some way, although we first have to have information about where they would be," Jett thought aloud, he had lots of plans but none of them would work.
"There's no problem in that part, the Phantom Troupe is a group of thieves I'm sure they will show up in York Shin for the auction," Jess said, Jett nodded agreeing that her deduction made sense, Killua and Gon also agreed with that reasoning.
"I will go to York Shin ahead of you and start gathering information, I will also try to gather more money," Jess said.
"That is for the best; we will stay here until it is time for the auction," Jess nodded and walked away, not wanting to stay with the trio of freak children any longer.
However, as she walked away, she couldn't help but think about a possible future she could have had if things had gone differently. If things had not gone as they had, she imagined having a family, having a kid about the same age as the trio of little freaks, imagining her child becoming friends with them and becoming stronger just by becoming their friend. She knew those three were geniuses but would only be without power if they didn't strive to become stronger. As she reached the harbor, she looked back at the forest where the three kids were. She had a sad and longing look in her eyes, but just as quickly, it became a determined look.
"I don't know what your goals are, but I will take everything from you just like you did from me," she promise into the sea's crashing waves.
"Jett, you haven't told me what you want me to do," Gon asked once Jess was gone.
"Oh, right. I think it is time for you to develop a Hatsu," Jett said.
"A Hatsu?" Gon question,
"Yes, we're going to be facing unknown people with unknown Hatsu, and we have to be ready," Jett explains.
"You need to create your own Hatsu; I won't help you with it because they have to be something unique to you, something you feel confident about in a fight and will help you win against your enemy," Jett said.
"Now that you mention it, what's your Hatsu?" Killua asked; if Jett weren't sure, Killua would never reveal his information to anyone. He would never tell him, but he knew that he would die before he could tell anyone, although it wasn't like he had to reveal everything.
"I have two Hatsu. The first one allows me to have unlimited Nen for a few minutes, and the second one allows me to force someone into a Zetsu state. There are conditions, but in every situation, you should always keep those conditions to yourself," Jett said.
"Killua won't tell anyone about it, Jett," Gon argued.
"I know. It isn't that I don't trust Killua; it is our enemies I don't trust. We just found out that there is someone with a Hatsu ability that can read your minds." Jett didn't finish his sentence because Killua agreed with what he was saying.
"His right Gon, we could be captured, if we know too much information about our abilities then they could be used against us," Killua said.
"When you're creating your Hatsu, if you're going to put conditions in, then make sure to keep them to yourself," Jett said.
In the following days, Killua messages his brother through a Hawk. Jett didn't think he had to go that far to keep it a secret; it wasn't like anyone would care that three kids were looking into a game. He only mentioned it once, and since Killua still wanted to do it that way, he didn't say anything after that.
Gon and Killua also started a competition. They wanted to buy things and then sell them to earn money. Jett knew that they wouldn't make that much money. They also wanted to get him involved, but he escaped. He already had a plan in mind and was a hundred percent sure it would work. Jett didn't just let them slack off; he forced them to practice their Nen.
Killua and Gon were thinking about their Hatsu until the day for the action day came around. Jett didn't want to rush them, a Hatsu was something that would give them a winning opportunity against their enemy, creating a Hatsu needed patience and deep thought, well unless you were a specialist since those types of Hatsu were unique to each person.
Jett himself was a specialist, but he didn't know how; he was an Enhancer, that was for sure; he had a condition, but that was possible even for Enhancers, even if they didn't need one since they could overpower their enemy. His second Hatsu was more of a conjuration type of Hatsu than that of a specialist. What made him a specialist was that both his Nen could interact but were also unaffected by outside sources, like the situation he was in now, where one of his Nen was sealed.
It was why he was going along with Jess and her Avenger-type adventure. He wanted to know how his body worked, and how could two bodies exist within one body, there were those cases in his previous world where one twin would absorb the other one in the womb of the mother, but he was sure his situation was different.
He wouldn't cry if he didn't get the information while he was curious about it; it wouldn't affect him not knowing about it, his bodywork, and you can't fix something that wasn't broken.
Having made a substantial amount of money between Gon and Killua but not enough to bid for the game, their earning were Fifty-Four point two million, far from their goal, but Jett wasn't worried. Finally, they arrived at York Shin; Gon was impressed, as was Jett. While he had memories of many people gathering in his previous world, he was still amazed at how many people gathered for the auction. Stalls were set up everywhere in the streets; you could hear the commotion of people as they sold and bought items they were interested in.
"Wow! It's only morning, but look at the crowd!" Gon shouted.
"Damn. Suppose moo moo dance didn't come around at the fourth corner. I would've made twelve times what I had," Killua said, talking about a bet he placed while still complaining that he had lost the bet to Gon; he had to do something Gon asked him to do. Gon also tried to get Jett to join at that time Jett noticed that Gon was overly enthusiastic about him joining, it was a good thing he ran, because he felt a sense of danger, although not his life was in danger type of danger.
"What about Leorio and Kurapika?" Killua asked after arguing with Gon for a session.
"Leorio said he'll arrive in the afternoon." Jett looked blank as Gon mentioned Leorio. He still didn't like the guy, and he didn't know how that guy would be of any help. Jett's impression of Leorios was that even if he did learn Nen, he wouldn't get far in his practice. While he didn't look down on him in his practice to become a doctor, Jett could tell he was serious about it.
"Kurapika's been here since Yesterday," Gon continued.
"Gon, you also need to buy a phone. We need a way to contact you in case we get separated," Jett added.
"That's right! It's one of Hunter's important tools!" Gon exclaims, remembering that he didn't have one. So they searched for a phone, and that was also when a wild Leorio appeared.
"and the day was going so well,' Jett thought.
