Kapitel 14: In Less Than A Second
"Some of you may not recognize him due to the huge change in appearance, but here is the Demon Lord, Monkey King Sun Wukong."
In the meeting room where the most important persons in the Kingdom of Ingrassia were assembled, the King proceeded to do a formal introduction of the new demon lord.
"He from now on, to the next 400 years will be the Great Guardian of our Kingdom."
That news came to the hock of many, some were already secretly shocked to see the Demon Lord here, they were those who were able of recognizing him.
The others who just heard the news and now knew who was before them had an even greater shock.
"A-a Demon King?" One of the nobles let out in shock.
"Monkey...King"
"Sun Wukong..."
"That..."
All kinds of confused cries of aprehention and acclamation could be heard. But there is something all the nobles agreed upon.
This situation is just nonsensical, the King! Weren't he the one who told them to limit their contacts with Demon Kings if they were to appear? So what the fuck was this?
What were all of those pieces of advice and warnings for?
The King, feeling all the eyes on him, understood what was going on without anyone saying anything.
To be King there are many things you should be good at, and understanding people and recognizing their intentions was one of them.
Just like a merchant should be able to tell what kind of business will give him the most benefices, he as a King should know what action would bring his Kingdom fortune.
That's the reason why he, ultimately, didn't follow his own advice.
You know what they say, do what I tell you what not I do!
"Ahem... That was the reason for this meeting, for him to meet you and you to perhaps get to know him." The King coughed to disperse the building tension.
While all of this was happening Sun Wukong was just smiling on the Side without saying anything, this made nobles' former apprehension diminish a fair bit.
A little bit too much in fact, as they say, whenever you go there is an idiot on every corner.
One of the noble, perhaps meaning to represent this saying, choose to as the Chinese would say "court death".
"Your Highness, I don't believe it's a good idea to give the position of Grand Guardian to a monster."
His concern in some way was legitimate. As the position of Grand Guardian was just that grand.
The Grand Guardian was an admired or even worshiped existence in th Kingdom, it was only given to a brave one who accomplished numerous almost inhuman feats for the sake of the Kingdom.
And there could only be one Grand Guardian at a time.
You don't just need to be the strongest to become the Grand Guardian, but more, you need to be just... better, better than any other in, so stronger that none could even think of eying your success.
The Grand Guardian is not entitled to listen to anyone, nor the nobles nor the King, he could refuse any order that doesn't please him and was even treated better than nobles, only below the king in this department.
That's also why the position of Grand Guardian was so hard to get as it was given to the truly patriotic, less what if he turned against the Kingdom? It would be a disaster.
For that you would first need to be able to stop him... which is rather hard, as not only his political powers were exceptional, even his personal strength was unmatched.
To sum it up, to become Grand Guardian you need:
A patriotic heart
An Unmatched Strength
And a great fame
That is also why even Gazef as currently, the strongest man in the Kingdom is not the Grand Guardian.
He had a patriotic heart but he had fame, but he lacked the necessary strength to obtain this position.
It was so hard that from the beginning of the Ingrassia Kingdom until now only one Great Guardian appeared, making Sun Wukong the second.
While this was true... the problem is, the only King is the one that can give this position. And the one who received it was none other than Sun Wukong.
He for one didn't really understand the significance of his position, all he knew was he had to protect this country for some time.
So from his perspective, the noble was just purposely making a move against him, and he didn't appreciate it. But he still kept a smile on his face.
"Are you saying that I don't know what I am doing" The King looked at the noble as he tine grew colder?
This caused many to shake their head, this guy was just an idiot, he was too young!
In this kind of situation, it's better to remain silent or just suck up to the King and compliment him for his wisdom.
The King already made his decision anyway and having a Demon Lord as a great guardian was just too beneficial. Reaching this conclusion shouldn't be that hard.
"No your highness, it's just that I don't believe He is qualified to be the Grand Guardian!" The noble continued to dive into the depth of idiocy, perhaps trying to uncover all the mystery it holds.
"Ho and who, do you think is qualified?" The King asked.
"My Personal Knight Jason, your highness." The chubby noble affirmed, making the King remember that a similar conversation already happened before when they were discussing the rise of the second generation of Demon Kings.
This made the King sigh, this little overweight boy was a new noble that succeeded his dead father, although he knew the basics, he was just too naive as he didn't experience the world yet.
"By that do you realize that... this Jason, is stronger than Gazef?"
"Yes, I do, your highness."
"Can you bear the consequence of your words?"
"I can."
"Then call your Knight." This time, Sun Wukong choose to speak, he was still smiling as if none of this even affected him.

"Your Highness." The newly arrived Jason saluted the King before doing the same to the chubby noble "Sir Perd."
The knight was rather good-looking with blond hair, and green eyes. But... 'His face is really punchable' Thought the Monkey King
"Good, Jason, your Lord right here boasted of your capabilities and strength." The King addressed the knight. "By his words, you are stronger than our Kingdom's strongest knight."
"What do you think?" The king asked, he was not gonna directly tell the man to confront Sun Wukong, that would be foolish, he is just gonna die. He hoped the man would be sensible enough to retire himself before it comes to that.
But sadly for the King, the knight was not unlike his lord. "Your highness, I dare to say that I am stronger than sir Gazef." He said with confidence, Jason wasn't going to let down his Lord.
"I see... Do you also believe you can win a fight against a Demon lord?" The King asked, trying to leave him a way out. The last chance.
But was it that Idiots started listening to the voice of reason?
Jason thought that King had high expectations for him and thus without even thinking about it as much as two times over, he answered. "Demons Lords are posers, I doubt they are as strong as people say. It shouldn't be hard for me to beat one." He said full of himself, not even knowing the hole he was digging for himself.
"Ho God." The King sighed, there is nothing else he could do in this case.
"Then, you are saying you can beat me easily?" Wukong asked he was still smiling, but at this point, he was really feeling insulted. He was not one to get easily angered or he wouldn't even be able to coexist with Ramiris.
But being looked down on so much and in front of so many people? His mood was getting worse in seconds.
"Who are you?" Jason asked, confused about the identity of the man before him.
"This man is... Demon Lord Sun Wukong." The King introduced the Monkey King in an exasperated tone. "Perd right here affirmed that you would be able to beat him in a fight"
"Demon Lord...?"
As the King said, Jason, although the same on the surface, was panicking inside. He merely boasted before Lord Perds about being strong, since the noble was easy to fool because of his young age.
But how was he supposed to know that he would himself in such a situation?
He was sweating inside, no way he could win against a Demon Lord!
Although he was objectively strong, he could not even win against Gazef in a fair fight!
But he already said that he could, so if he decided to step back his head would roll! He would be executed without further ado!
Jason tried to think of a solution to his current dilemma, but he couldn't come up with anything.
Suddenly a thought came to him, perhaps he could try. He would fight against the demon Lord, try his best to survive then declare forfeit. Then he would just say that he overestimated himself and apologize.
Thinking about that he nodded internally, this plan was perfect, he would lose some of his reputations but at least he would keep his life.
"Then, Sir Wukong, would it be too much as to ask you to fight against him?" The King turned to ask the Monkey King, much to his surprise, and everyone else for that matter, his smile have already disappeared. In its place reigned Indifference, complete indifference.
"That will not be necessary, I had enough already." Sun Wukong answered.
He was not letting them off, this knight and his lord would serve as examples for the other.
Sun Wukong faced Jason "I was listening to you." He said, "You were standing there speaking with confidence. I have a question."
"Jason, why do you speak as if I couldn't reach you..." As he said, his voice trailed off as he disappeared from the perspective of everyone in the room, just to appear before Jason. His hand, on the man's head, clasping it tightly."... In less than a second." He finished his sentence.
"Wha-" The knight tried to speak but alas, he was already completely encased in a prison of ice, freezing to death.
None could tell what happened, one moment Sun WUkong was speaking, and the next Jason was frozen to death.
'Terrifying' They all thought, but none dared to speak, fearing the same fate.
It wasn't hard to figure that although he didn't look like it, the Demon Lord didn't like to be looked down on.
"Noo! Jason!" Perd shouted, he couldn't believe the man died just like that. "Y-you killed Jason!" He shouted at the Demon King.
It seemed that he still didn't learn his lesson.
"Yes, I did and you are next!" The Monkey King said as he pointed a finger toward the noble, firing from it a ki laser-like attack that transpierced the noble's heart, making him drop dead.
"Sigh, this is what I feared." The King didn't even try to reprimand him.
He already warned everyone that Demon Lords were not to be offended, but there is no medication for foolishness.
Plus purely based on benefice, this is better than losing a Grand Guardian.
"Who else has something to add?." none spoke as everyone choose to remain silent.
"Good now this meeting is dismissed. You can pass the words that the Kingdom of Ingrassia once again as a Great Guardian." The King said.

Later that day, Wukong was in a mansion that have been given to him by the King, it would serve as his residence in the royal capital.
As he was standing near the windows, looking outside toward the starry sky. He observed and admired the scenery that was life, lost in his thought.
Honestly, today was the first time killed a Human being, it made him feel strange since in his past life he was one as well.
But strangely enough or perhaps it's normal, he felt nothing, it was just like killing any random monsters out there.
"I guess I am just way over this mentally" He sighed.
Then he remembered that he still didn't get the promised legendary weapon.
"I will get that tomorrow." He decided
"I wonder who-" As he said he suddenly halted as he remembered what he had previously forgotten!
"Yuna!"
