Rankin then put the glowing green piece of stone back in its place and turned to me and spoke. "My wife will be here in a few minutes, then we can go to the thing I want to show you."
"Well, in the meantime since you want to help me, tell me about your military power." I directed this question to them, preferring to hear helpful information rather than idle chatter.
When Lilian heard my question, she jumped right into the conversation and answered.
"The strength of our city is stronger than anywhere else outside the capital. Even though we are on the border with the giants, this place has not faced any calamity in centuries. I would even dare to say that if everyone in the city united, we could even stage a successful coup."
Lilian sounded very proud when she talked about the city.
"I alone have the power to destroy some cities. My father is already one of the most powerful men in the kingdom. So you don't have to worry about our strength."
When Lilian finished, Rankin continued.
"As my daughter said, in military strength, our army is unbeatable by anyone in the kingdom except the one in the capital. So my idea is to recruit soldiers from other races before we attack." Rankin gave his opinion, but one thing he said caught my attention.
"Recruiting soldiers from other races? I thought all the human kingdoms hated other races."
"Yes, the citizens of all the kingdoms may hate them, but that only applies to humans." What Rankin said implied many things. I was about to ask my next question when the person we were waiting for arrived.
"Rankin, my love, what did you call me for? Oh! Lilian is here too. There is someone I don't know, but it must be important for you to call me in such a hurry." The woman with black hair and dress looked at her husband with puzzled eyes.
"Yes, darling, I called you because we need to get to the ancestral cave as soon as possible."
"Ancestral cave!?! Are you sure, my love? You know it's there..." The woman had a worried and hesitant demeanor when she heard this name.
"Ancestral cave? Dad, I've never heard of this place." Lilian said that she had never heard of it and asked Rankin what it was. Honestly, I wondered what this place was too, but I waited.
"Rosa, don't worry, nothing will happen to anyone. And Lilian, this is the place where our ancestor, the founder of the city of Cristalica, is located." Rankin tried to calm his wife and explained to his daughter.
"Lilian, you can ask me your questions later. Please all of you follow me." After Rankin said that, we all left his office together and walked for a long time through the mansion.
Some of my questions had already been answered. Most probably this cave was home to the ancestor of the city of Cristalica. Somehow he managed to live until this period.
We had finally reached the end of our walk. In front of us was an ancient-looking wooden gate about twenty meters in size. And the door was surrounded by crystals. We were also in a forest of tall trees. I had never imagined that deep inside this mansion there was such a forest.
The next things that caught my attention were the big blue crystal golems walking around.
When they saw us coming in this direction, they moved as if they were going to attack, but after they saw Rankin, they continued to wander around.
"Okay, Lilian, I want you and your mom to put your hands on this door and send your magical energy." Rankin said, then put his hand in the center and waited for them.
"Okay." Lilian and Rosa said at the same time and put their hands on the door.
Seconds later, the door began to open slowly, as if an ancient seal was being opened.
Just as the door opened, the three of them took their hands away and looked at the scene in front of them.
The cave was full of crystals. Huge butterflies were flying on the ceiling and the golems we had just encountered were everywhere.
And from the deepest part of the cave, I sensed a great power.
We moved together towards that deep point. None of the creatures around were attacking us. They acted as if they hadn't seen us.
When we arrived, this time there was a passage in front of us, like another cave entrance. What we saw when we went through the passage was strange.
A huge scaleless white dragon was reading a book. Behind him was a ten-meter crystal glowing in every color.
I wrote this chapter while I was sleep deprived. I apologize if there are any problems.
