I was feeling anxious after getting half the information about that woman. I did not know why I was so agitated and wanted to know more about her. Punishing Vincent was a feeling of gratification but it was not my part to do but her.
I returned to my room and decided to find out more about her from Avi.
The following morning.
I quickly finished my morning routine and went to my study. I carefully locked the door behind me as soon as I entered. The book shelves in the library area have always fascinated me.
There was a reason for this, as they were beautifully crafted in the style of medieval architecture. When I stood in front of it, facing one of the bookshelves, a smile crept across my face.
I took out a specific Red book, and an entire section of the shelf made an unlock sound, revealing the secret door behind it. This secret door's lock was manual, making it impossible to hack with any system.
It was a secret elevator that led to our mysterious office, or, as I prefer to call it, our headquarters, and Avi oversaw the entire department.
I boarded the elevator and began to descend. After nine floors, I arrived at the ninth basement. We called it Cloud Nine, and it was the lifeline for my entire organization.
The FBI, Interpol, EU police, and many other government agencies were constantly chasing our asses, and this was the entire project that kept us informed of their activities.
As soon as I walked into Avi's office, I saw him sitting in front of a supercomputer with several screens. He was working on something important, and various numbers and letters from a coding language were displayed on the screen. He was typing furiously on his mega keyboard.
He was working on a project that I had wanted to start for quite some time. It was a program that assisted us in tracking the global marketing system, allowing us to dominate this segment of our planet and gain control of significant financial resources.
He was so focused on his work that he did not notice me standing behind him, and I was watching her from a distance. He was only dressed in a white thin T-shirt and black jeans, with the golden rim of his glasses shining over his nose bridge under the light of a large monitor.
"YES!!"
He suddenly exclaimed, a huge grin spreading across his face. He jumped up from his swirl chair and punched his fist in the air, but as soon as he saw me, his happy face twisted into an expression of fear.
" Master!" We finally successfully cracked the code of international world trade building and within a few months we will able to establish our systems there," he informed me professionally and my heart swelled with pride at his achievements.
But he seemed concerned about my presence, and I had no idea why. Something seemed off about him. He was checking a voice device repeatedly. The device was secured to his chamber and placed on his desk.
I brushed it off and focused on why I would come here.
"Have you received all of the information about Ms. Erika Carter? Alexis provided me with something that appeared to be halfway done. Is there anything we are missing, Avi? I asked him in a cold, authoritative tone, and he began to consider the possibilities.
"Yes, Master, while we were gathering information about Ms. Carter, something strange happened—"
"- There was an accident before her missing complaint was filed, and locals say she underwent some kind of surgery, but no one knows what kind of surgery it was, and all information has mysteriously vanished from the hospital system-"
"- There is no evidence of anything, and the doctor disappeared after a few days. I am sorry, Master, but this is a dead end and we could not find anything else," he said as calmly as he could while doing an excellent job of controlling his fear.
Nonetheless, he lowered his head because he was the culprit and felt guilty about failing at his assigned task.
"Close it! You did not need to look any further, and you did an excellent job of researching so far. "We can not waste our resources," I ordered, exhausted by everything.
I decided to ignore that woman like a daydream and concentrate on my current business.
"Help! Help! Please, Avirudh, I did not do anything. I did not kill your brother; please believe me for once. I did not kill your brother- *sobbing."
I was about to leave his office when I was distracted by the begging voice of a girl coming from the device, and I came to a halt. Avi hurriedly approached the device and turned it off.
When I recognised the voice, I felt angry and irritated. I grabbed his collar without hesitation. In an instant, his face became ashen.
"What the hell is she still doing in your chamber, Avi? I believe I instructed you last week to free her. You get your revenge, and her father is looking for her as a wounded beast—"
"- She can pose a threat to everyone; remember, her father is a politician with a strong personality. He has many connections, and it will be easy for him to harm any of us. I can not risk anyone, so let her go right now!" I implied staring dead into his eyes while gritting my teeth.
I was so angry with him that I wanted to bury him right away, but something in his eyes flickered, as if he was not afraid of me or death. He glared at me with the same velocity and red eyes. His pale face and fearful expressions changed with determination.
" I am not finished with her Master; she still has her sanity, so my vengeance is only halfway complete. I will give her back to her father when she is no more than a walking corpse. "Just give me the next week, I promise," he said, and I could not help but let him go this time.
He straightened his collar and took a step backward.
"Only one week! And you did not even think about Rmeta when you took the girl in," I agreed, simultaneously expressing my curiosity.
My dear cousin had a long-standing crush on this brown beauty, and it was time to listen to his side as well. I knew they were good friends, but having feelings for someone was an entirely different story.
"I have no feelings for Rmeta Master, so it did not matter what she thought of my actions. "We are good friends, but there is nothing beyond the limits," he replied sternly.
It may be understandable given his behavior towards her. He was always cold and kept a certain distance between them when they were together.
However, listening to him gave me a clear picture of the situation.
The poor girl will be devastated by the news, but it is also important to respect one's boundaries.
I reminded him, "Only a week," and he nodded in agreement. When I turned toward the exit, he bowed and greeted me.
Avi was a valuable member of my team, and I was proud of him and his achievements. He was an excellent example of hard work and discipline.
During a business dispute ten years ago, I discovered a seventeen-year-old who was half-dead and drenched in blood, with a deadly pulse. He lay half-buried in a pile of garbage in Italy's largest dumpster on the outskirts of the city.
"Save me and I'll be your slave forever"
I still remember the words he barely said that day, and over time, he proved himself worthy. On that day, I never imagined he would make it out alive, but here he was, taking his revenge firmly.
One thing I learned from his story was that revenge had the power to give us a second chance, just as it had for Avi and me, and I did not blame him.
With all of my thoughts, I could not recall when I stood in my garage. I immediately hopped into one of my luxurious cars and informed Daniel of my departure from the castle.
It was time to meet Ryan and update him on the upcoming events. Furthermore, I wanted to know what was wrong with this man, as he had been acting strangely for the past few days.
Daniel's security circled me as soon as I drove out of the garage, and we headed towards Ryan's seven-star club.
