A faint meow sounded in the back courtyard of the manor.

Chen Lun looked towards the sound and saw a small white kitten hiding under a tree, calling out. It seemed somewhat malnourished, shivering.

Chen Lun walked over and gently picked it up.

Looking into the kitten's amber-colored eyes, he felt a hint of longing and pleading. From its weak cries, he gathered some intermittent, fragmented information.
