(Just how did this happen?) thought Emore with a stern expression, as she looked around at the dishes and chairs upturned on the floor and then at Isabel and the other women who stepped back with looks of fear and shock on their faces, at her only remaining son Liam who, for some unknown reason was kneeling on the ground with a stiff expression on his face as he seemed to be struggling to stand up from the ground.

 Then Emore finally lowered her eyes to look at the concentrated energy sword that was placed near her neck, and at Fray who was still sitting in his chair looking at herself with a calm face and a cold look in his eyes.
