Kapitel 22: Chapter 22

Lia finally got out of the car. Her whole body ached, and her head hurt.

Did I hit my head on something while I was sleeping?

There was a slight bump on her forehead, and her lips were swollen.

"This is where you're staying?" Claude said as he looked up at the house with a raised brow.

Pipi's voice rang out as she gave orders to the servants, who were busy organizing the luggage.

"Yes," Lia replied. "Father was quite worried about having me live in the dormitories."

"But the son of the marquis would have been given the largest room."

"Regardless, I am quite shy, my lord."

"You?" Claude scoffed as he walked into the house. "I seem to recall you being quite friendly to a man whom you've only just met. I guess you're not shy around foreigners then?"

"Pardon?" Lia was rendered speechless.

Instead of responding, Claude looked around the house as if he were inspecting it. With a hand in his pockets, he wandered up the stairs, and Lia followed behind him.
