Esmeralda did not even realize when she fell asleep. One minute, she was getting comfortable with him and the next moment she was dead asleep on the couch. Maybe, it was because she was overly emotional and her body shut on its own when it felt that it was secure. 

Ethan did not move for a long time for fear that she would wake up if he moved. He let her sleep like that on his chest. It was like a kid was hugging him and falling asleep on his shoulder. After an hour, when he was sure that she would not take up easily now, he held her in his arms and brought her to her bedroom and made her lie on the bed.
