"Harry, what was the reason Professor Dumbledore asked you to stay?"
When Harry returned to the Common Room in a trance, his best friend Ron immediately approached him.
They and Ginny had calmed down quickly after a while.
After all, the diary that had hidden Voldemort's memories had been found by the professors, and the danger was gone.
"Dumbledore asked me... if I wanted to have a talk with You-Know-Who"
Harry, coming to himself, answered honestly.
"Has he gone mad?" exclaimed Ron, wide-eyed and incredulous, "How could he let you do something so dangerous?!"
"Well, it's not really dangerous, it's just writing in the diary."
Harry defended Dumbledore.
Ron got even more excited, "And did you really do it?!".
"Yes."
Harry nodded and replied, "Actually, Professor Dumbledore didn't make me, I chose to talk to Voldemort.... ah, sorry."
Seeing Ron's look of horror at the name "Voldemort," Harry was quick to apologize.
But as Dumbledore had expected, after his brief interaction with Voldemort, Harry was much less intimidated by him and his mindset had changed considerably.
Where before he had said the name "Voldemort" because he didn't know him, now he said it because Harry saw him as an enemy to be defeated.
"What did you and... You-Know-Who?" asked Ron curiously as the fear disappeared from his face.
"Actually, we didn't talk about anything..." Harry scratched his head and said with a dry smile, "He seemed so angry about the failure of his plan that I couldn't talk to him properly at first."
This was one of the main reasons why Harry's fear of Voldemort was so much weaker, because from his angry words, Harry probably understood that he had been badly deceived by Fish and Dumbledore, and unconsciously felt that.... Voldemort was no better than that.
Although Voldemort later regained his composure and recounted the scene where he had killed Harry's parents and they had pleaded with him, Harry had already established a psychological advantage and was angry enough to strike back at Voldemort, taunting him about the fact that not only was the Dark Lord now worse than dead, but he had also been defeated twice by a second-year wizard like Fish.
Voldemort, who had already been defeated by Dumbledore and Fish, was again provoked by Harry's words and deployed a long section of vicious curses in the diary until he ran out of ink.
"Hahahahaha... this is ... really something."
After listening to Harry's account, Ron laughed dryly and scratched his hair, suddenly feeling that.... Voldemort didn't seem so scary anymore.
Although the diary thing is related to the famous Dark Lord, but for Harry and the others, the past was the past, and as students, they should focus more on their studies.
Dumbledore hadn't stopped them from talking about it, but they couldn't be too careful when it came to the Dark Lord, and Ginny's role as an accomplice, even if she was being controlled, was nothing to be ashamed of.
So the group consciously kept the matter to themselves, and with no one else to discuss it with, Harry and the Weasleys gradually forgot about it.
The most important thing for Harry and Ron to think about now was the electives they would choose for their third year.
On this particular day, the third year Gryffindor students were gathered in the Common Room with their new class schedules, discussing which courses to take.
Of course, the young witches mostly wanted to know what classes Fish was going to take.
Some of the older students were also present to give them advice.
"Care of Magical Creatures class is definitely one of them," George and Fred said cheerfully to Ron as they stuck beside him left and right, "Other than flying, there's probably nothing more relaxing and fun than that.... Although sometimes it can be a bit dangerous."
Ron unhesitatingly signed his name to the course, and Harry and the other students followed without hesitation.
As for the danger the twins spoke of...
What is a Gryffindor if he is afraid of danger?
Percy, who was also advising the twins, looked disgruntled and scolded them, "Elective courses are related to the direction of your future employment, how can you be so careless?"
He then ignored the twins' blank stares and continued his long peroration.
But no one was listening, except Hermione, who was more interested in hearing the twins' analysis.
"If you're a half-blood or from a Muggle family, you can take Muggle Studies, you'll have an advantage in this class, but it can be a bit boring, because there's a lot of things you already know."
The twins were not speaking at random, some of the young half-blood or Muggle wizards hesitated for a moment before choosing the class, while Hermione, who was completely Muggle, did not move at all, as she had already signed her name at the end of all the classes.
"Those of you who feel you have a good mind can choose Arithmancy, Divination, and Ancient Runes."
George continued, picking up where Fred had left off.
Neville, who was conflicted between courses because of letters from his relatives, had not hesitated to drop them, and most of the others had skipped them as well.
"We don't know much about Divination, except that it seems to be a rather talent-based course, and has a somewhat polarized opinion among the students."
As soon as George spoke, some of the students who had chosen Divination argued.
As the twins had said, the class had a strange reputation among the students, some saying that Professor Trelawney was a fraud and others arguing that it was because they hadn't opened their "eyes in the sky," which made Harry and the others look at each other and wonder what was going on.
At that moment, Fish suddenly spoke up.
"Fred, how many of these classes can I take at least? are there any other courses that don't require too much homework?"
(●ΦωΦ●)?
The kitten didn't care too much which classes he took, he almost always slept anyway, the key was to have less homework.
"At least two."
Fred waggled both fingers and replied, "I'm not sure about homework, because George and I have only chosen Care of Magical Creatures and Muggle Studies, you can ask Percy" Fred pointed to his brother, who had stood off to the side with a mixture of admiration and disgust on his face, "He has all twelve O.W.L. certificates."
The young wizards at the table let out a gasp and looked at Percy in admiration.
"Ahem!" Percy cleared his throat haughtily, then straightened his shirt collar, trying not to look proud as he looked at the expectant Fish and replied somewhat helplessly, "In terms of workload, Divination and Care of Magical Creatures are the easiest classes, but I'd advise you to think about it before deciding which class you want to take. "
Unfortunately, most of the students didn't bother to listen to him and signed their names to both classes without hesitation.
Fish, however, hesitated to put pen to paper, with his cute face was full of conflict.
Because of the centaurs' vague way of talking and their inability to tell him where there is good food and fun, the little cat has always thought that fortune-telling is a lie....
That's not really a problem, after all he had just fooled Voldemort with the old bad guy himself, so taking a deception class would be a good way to strengthen his skills.
But...
Professor McGonagall didn't seem to like Divination classes either, and her relationship with Professor Trelawney wasn't very good either, which of course had a lot to do with the fact that Professor Trelawney was always trying to trick Fish.
Fish was worried that Professor McGonagall would be angry if he took the course.
But...
This course has less homework!
Fish scratched his head, caught in a dilemma.
"Percy, what about the other three classes?"
?ω?
Unable to make a decision right away, Fish asked again.
"Except for Ancient Runes, the other two have about the same amount of homework, but Ancient Runes... it's the one with the most work and it's just as boring as History of Magic."
Percy answered truthfully, several of the young wizards who had taken the class hurriedly erased their names from the list, only Hermione remained impassive.
(?ω?)
The kitten was silent for a moment, then decisively signed the back of the Divination class.
