Kapitel 129: Chapter 129: Fish's talent (Edited)

I still can't figure out what this little guy is thinking...

The expert headmaster sighed, and then Headmaster Phineas on the wall couldn't help himself.

"What a joke, how can you eat something as precious as a dragon egg? even the most extravagant dark wizards wouldn't do this!"

"Meow?"

Fish looked back at the agitated portrait of the former headmaster, and then....

He grimaced at his.

"You~"

Phineas was furious.

"Eating dragon eggs..." Dumbledore didn't know whether to laugh or cry, "Although I can get dragon eggs, I can't give them to you."

"Is it too expensive, meow?" ?ω?

Fish frowned, he still didn't have much concept of money, but he did know that some things were not easy to get, and the most common characteristic of those things was that they were 'very expensive', and required a lot of that metal called money.

"Yes, it is very expensive." Dumbledore nodded, and after some thought gave an example, "It's about what Minerva would have earned working at the school for five or six years, and this is still the cheapest dragon egg."

Actually, Fish still had no idea, because he didn't know how much Professor McGonagall earned in a year.

And as Vice Headmistress and Dean of Gryffindor and Transfiguration teacher, Professor McGonagall's annual salary was one of the highest in all of Hogwarts.

"And how does one make a lot of money?"

Still not understanding the exact price, but not giving up, Fish cocked his head to the side and asked Dumbledore about ways to make money.

"Making money, that's a little more complicated." Dumbledore stroked his beard and said cheerfully, "First you have to have a good job, and to get a good paying job, you have to study hard and graduate from Hogwarts..."

"Oh, so Fish doesn't want to eat anymore, meow." (●Φ_Φ●)

Fish gave up decisively, doing homework every day was hard enough, but studying hard... then he'd rather not eat dragon eggs!

"Uh... Don't you want to hold out for a bit?" Dumbledore persuaded reluctantly.

"No, meow! Fish hates to read." ?(●ΦДΦ●)?

Since there was no hope for the dragon egg, Fish didn't want to stay any longer, so he grabbed the brim of the Sorting Hat above his head with both hands, turned his head, and ran out the door.

"Dumbledore, I'm going to be kidnapped by this brat!"

The Sorting Hat was screaming at the top of his lungs, and had slandered the Big Four more than once because of Fish.

Since they had made him conscious, why didn't they give him some means of protection?!!

This Dumbledore guy was out of line too! He let a little wizard torment him like that!

The Sorting Hat is an important property of Hogwarts!

Fish couldn't kidnap the Sorting Hat, it had only taken a few steps before it was taken by a levitation spell from Dumbledore, and if Fish hadn't been quick, he would have been trapped with it.

...

The rest of the day was relatively uneventful, though the teachers' homework was getting heavier as final exams approached, Fish still had plenty of time to hang out without the girls' antics.

And he also accidentally discovered that the mean old man seemed to be very busy at night.

In other words, now Fish didn't even need his invisibility cloak to sneak out of the castle at night.

Every now and then, Fish would visit Hagrid's hut to check on the dragon egg, and under the heat of the flames, Fish could feel a little life growing inside.

"Oh... that's a shame, meow..." (??ˇ?ˇ??)

Fish stared at the dragon egg in the fireplace and sighed regretfully. Right now, even if Hagrid gave him the dragon egg, he couldn't eat it. He could even feel the young dragon inside the egg shell intermittently trying to break out of its shell.

It didn't seem like it would be long before the egg hatched.

"Fish, are you still thinking about eating the egg?"

Ron approached, he and Harry had been dragged by Hermione to help Hagrid with the egg over the weekend, in case Hagrid let Fish go into the Forbidden Forest alone again.

Today was no different, as Hermione had dragged them here by force after breakfast.

Luckily, they were already interested in the dragon egg, and care was easy enough, simply adding wood to the fire when it ran short.

"Give it up, Hagrid won't agree, and dragon eggs are so valuable it would be a shame to eat them." Said Ron as he crouched in front of the fireplace like Fish, looking at the big black egg in the fire.

"I'm not going to eat it anymore," Fish shook his head, getting up, "Because the little dragon inside is going to come out soon, meow."

"Really?" Hagrid dropped his breakfast and in the blink of an eye was up from the table next to Fish, asking between anxious and apprehensive, "Did you hear the eggshell crack?"

Hagrid had already memorized by heart the book "Breeding Fire Dragons for Pleasure and Profit" about the Norwegian Ridgeback.

The book clearly stated that when there was a distinct knocking sound in a dragon egg, it was time to remove it from the fire.

Hagrid was practically standing with his back to the fireplace, unaware that his hair and whiskers were curling from the flames, and listening to the egg.

"Meow? Fish doesn't hear any knocking." ⊙ω⊙

Fish flicked his ears and inexplicably replied.

"But didn't you say the little dragon inside will come out soon?"

Harry and Hermione also approached the fireplace, nervously watching the dragon eggs in the fire.

"Yeah, meow, I think it will come out in about three or four days, meow" Fish said.

"Do you have a feeling?" Ron smiled, "So it's just a feeling you have, is it? haven't you heard anything?"

"Isn't that enough, meow?" Fish nodded, as if it was second nature.

"Enough! That's enough!"

Hagrid rose from the ground with a grunt, shaking a lump of ash from his burnt whiskers.

But that didn't matter to him, instead he rubbed his hands together gleefully and repeatedly asked Fish for confirmation, "Fish, can you confirm the time? is it three days from now or four?"

Unlike Ron, who thought Fish was just saying that, Hagrid, who often accompanied Fish to the Forbidden Forest, had come to notice his extraordinary sensitivity in dealing with animals and even plants, so Hagrid believed Fish's "feeling."

"I don't know about that, Meow."

Fish shook his head, he could only vaguely perceive a period of time, nothing too concrete.

"Do you really believe that, Hagrid? based on Fish's feelings?"

The outspoken Ron blurted out his suspicions, which caused Hermione to glare at him....

Although Hermione didn't really believe Fish either, she didn't like Ron questioning Fish!

Hagrid shook his head and explained to Ron, "You don't understand, Fish has a special talent for animals, and if he says so, he's most likely not wrong."

Fish himself didn't mind Ron's questioning, but reached out and tugged on Hagrid's shirt, "Great man! We should go to the Forbidden Forest, meow! Firenze said they're having a feast at noon today."

It was only after Fish had snuck into the Forbidden Forest the night before that he heard the news about the centaurs, but Hagrid was too nervous to notice anything wrong.

After Fish took Hagrid away, Ron looked at Harry and Hermione, "Do you believe what Hagrid said? Fish's special talent."

"Why not?" Hermione supported Fish wholeheartedly, "With all the amazing things that have happened to Fish, it's only natural that he would have some more animal-related gifts, isn't it?"

Actually, Harry believed Hagrid too, as he remembered having similar special gifts himself, such as growing shaved hair overnight, making glasses disappear instantly, and... talking to a Burmese python.

But he neither agreed nor disagreed to please his friend: "We'll know in three or four days, won't we? Ron, you don't have to worry about this."

Ron thought better of it and didn't pursue the subject.

Three mornings later, Hedwig dropped a note in front of Harry, who was eating breakfast.

Harry took the note out of his bowl.

It was written in Hagrid's familiar bold handwriting, and contained only a brief sentence....

Almost out of its shell.
