Kapitel 2: Status
Rei woke up with an intense headache. He grabbed his head as he felt dizzy.
He opened his eyes in an unfamiliar room.
Rei looked around the room and he found himself on the bed.
"Where am I? Where did that person even send me?", questioned Rei.
He stood up and walked towards the door but stopped looking at himself in the mirror which was next to the door.
"Who is this!!!? Is this even me? It seems I have resurrected in someone else's body", said Rei accepting reality pretty fast.
Looking in the mirror he had black hair and blue eyes. Rei was happy that he was resurrected as a handsome boy.
"That voice said that I will be in the anime universe I chose, is this really 'Ace of Diamond', thought Rei.
To confirm if he was really in Ace of Diamond, he walked towards the only window in his room and opened it.
He saw Asian people walking around, cars beeping, and kids wearing uniforms. He was really in Japan.
Rei previously lived in America, so he knows now that everything that happened to him wasn't a dream but reality. He was half Japanese and half American in his previous life, so he knew the language Japanese. He didn't have to worry about communicating here.
"I can't believe this is happening to me", Rei started laughing loudly with a smirk on his face.
"I won't let this chance go to waste", said Rei. He had a lot of baseball experience in his previous life which would make him a baseball monster prodigy in this life.
He clenched his hand in excitement.
**Crack**Crack**
"Where is this sound coming from?", thought Rei looking around the room trying to find the source when he eventually felt the pain in his hand.
He stared at his snapped hand and yelled in pain, "AHHHHHHHH…".
He couldn't believe that he was resurrected in this shitty body how will he become a baseball prodigy with this?
Rei's room door opened and his 'mom' barged in.
"Rei, I just heard a scream from here. Are you okay? Did something happen again?", said Rei's mom.
"N-nothing, just my hand hurt a bit", said Rei. He didn't feel weird or awkward talking to his predecessor's mom.
"You know the doctor has told you to not put a lot of force in your hands. Don't you remember because of your injury?", said Rei's mom.
"Y-yes I remember", said Rei inwardly cursing his bad luck. 'This shitty body was injured, shit', he thought.
"Just take care of yourself. I'll be home late again today I have to manage the store myself because your dad has to go to his friend's house again. Ugh, don't even get me started on that man. But anyways honey, I'll be going now take care", said Rei's mom politely and left the room closing the door behind her.
Rei was left in his room trying to process what was going on. It seemed like this body often got injured.
"I almost forgot, happy 15th birthday, honey. Here take 13,000 yen and have fun bye", said Rei's mom coming into Rei's room again.
She left the money on his side table and gave him a flying goodbye kiss before leaving the room again.
'Maybe this family isn't so bad after all', thought Rei looking at the money.
"It's 'my' birthday huh, oh and 15th birthday too. I think 15-year-olds are supposed to go to high school after a vacation in Japan", said Rei while thinking on his bed.
"I should fix this damn body. Why is this body so delicate anyways?", said Rei while sighing frustratingly.
As Rei was thinking about his body, a blue screen appeared in front of Rei.
Rei's mouth was wide open as he saw the screen in front.
"Obviously, I have a system too. This couldn't get any better", thought Rei.
"Let's see what this system is about", said Rei looking at the blue screen.

Rei was overwhelmed with this notification continuously popping up but when he read the last notification.
He carefully thought about his position because it is related to his future.
After a few seconds, Rei decided on his position and said, "Pitcher". In the end, he chose pitcher because he had the most experience in it.

Rei knew that he needed to work on his body but after seeing his stats he never thought that his stats were this bad.
Looking at his attributes he understood why they were low. He personally thought his skills weren't that bad for him, he just had to level them up. He didn't know why he had a cold-heart skill which was the only one level 2, but he accepted it because he thought it was a useful skill.
Reading the comment of the system made him irritated but he knew that what it was saying was the truth. He couldn't deny it.
"Let's proceed with the first step and get this damn body strong", thought Rei with determination.
A blue screen popped out as Rei made his decision.

When Rei opened the system, he saw an interface that had various tabs on them.

Rei smiled seeing the hardcore workout the system gave him.
He would clench his hand in excitement, but his hand is injured so he raised it high to celebrate his new goal.
He started doing the workout as soon as he got it because he has nothing else to do, so why not?
After 2 hours of workout, Rei was soaked in sweat and gasping for his breath. Even though he was struggling with his body he was still feeling happy while doing it.
After exercising, he received a notification from the system.

Seeing the increase in his stats motivated him.
Rei sat down on his bed thinking if he should walk out of his room or not. He was afraid of running into his predecessor's family. He knew it was going to be awkward between them.
Sooner or later, he had to face them so while sighing he exited his room.
Feeling nervous Rei walked down the stairs and entered the living room. He saw 1 old person and 1 middle-aged man sitting on a couch talking.
As soon as Rei saw them in the living room, tons of memories started flowing in his brain. He grabbed his head wincing in pain. It literally felt like someone was stuffing information in his brain, the pain was so extreme that he fainted.

Rei got his predecessor's memories when he saw his father and grandfather in the living room.
Opening his eyes, he heard a lot of crying.
"Oh, My grandson you're awake. Don't let this old man experience this again…", Said grandfather with tears flowing through his eyes.
"This happened because you weren't taking care of him, were you?", questioned mom to his dad.
"I-I was…", whispered dad meekly.
"I am all right you don't need to worry", said Rei smiling. He didn't feel awkward or weird talking to them now because he had gotten the memories of his predecessor.
When he saw his grandfather, he seemed like tsundere. His mother seemed dominant compared to his father. But still, he liked this family and he felt like he belonged here.
After the chaos stopped, the family sat together to eat dinner.
"I heard you have been accepted into Seido because of your test scores", said mom.
"Yeah, I can't believe our son Is going there with a scholarship", said grandfather.
"Thankfully, I don't have to pay his tuition", whispered dad but Rei's mom still heard it. She pinched her husband's hands telling him to shut his mouth up.
"I know I'm excited to go there too but dad lately I have been thinking since it's summer vacation how about you take me working out with you every morning", said Rei while smiling.
There was utter silence at the table when his family heard what he said.
"W-what…", said Rei.
"Nothing…", said mom looking at me weirdly.
"I have been waiting for this day my entire life", said dad enthusiastically.
"Hahaha, let me join you too", said the grandpa.
"NO!!!", said Rei and his father simultaneously.
Rei had asked his dad because his dad was a soccer coach even though it wasn't baseball it was still a sport. His predecessor was a smart person who only focused on his studies, but he wasn't like that. Thankfully, his predecessor, got into Seido because he could start baseball there and maybe work his way up to the first string.
Laughter filled the entire dining room.
After finishing dinner Rei went back to his room.
He entered his room, lay on his bed, and prepared to sleep. But before that, he rummaged through his predecessor's memories so that he can remember every detail.
His predecessor didn't have friends which was sad but thankfully because of that, he didn't have to worry about people causing him unnecessary trouble.
Rei couldn't wait for the next day to start because he is going to start practicing his baseball skills and tomorrow, he had to discuss something important with his family.
