Scott’s mind was slightly dizzy from all the whisky he had drunk at the office after everyone left the company. He had been in a bad mood since the previous night when he left the shower and realized that Florence was not in his bedroom as he supposed she would.
At first, he simply thought she was still in the kitchen or somewhere else in the apartment, but when he looked around and didn’t find her, the guest room was the only place left for him to check.
It made no sense the anger and confusion that came over him when he realized what was happening. Now that they were back in New York, Florence was behaving exactly as before they left, cautiously and distant.
He knew he had been a bit rude to her when he told her to do whatever she wanted, but he wasn’t thinking straight at that moment. Only when he went to his room and went over the entire scene in his head did he realize he wasn’t being fair with her.
