Kapitel 17: Chapter 17: Dinner With the In-laws

After thinking it through the entire night, Florence decided to call Scott instead of texting him. Even though text messages were faster, she didn’t think an invitation like that should be made over a text.

Ever since she left his penthouse, they didn’t talk again. Things were weird between them, now more than ever. However, they should find a way to get over that soon, since Scott’s grandfather didn’t seem to be getting any more patient.

So, on Sunday morning, she decided to give it a try. She didn’t think he’d reject it, of course, he was a gentleman after all, but she was nervous nonetheless.

“Hi, Florence,” he picked up right away, surprising her.

“Oh, hi, Scott,” she said, trying to calm her heart down. “Hm, so, I’m assuming you were expecting it to happen already, but my parents found out about the debts being paid. I couldn’t really lie to them, since they’d find out eventually about us, so I told them you paid for it and we’re getting married.”
