On a large Tv screen taking up a huge portion of a wall in an excessively large living room, a beautiful woman that appeared to be in her early twenties with long cherry blossom hair and two horns on either side of her head was on the screen.
She was facing off against a large muscled man which easily towered over her in such a fashion that the small yet arrogant smile on her face would confuse anyone that didn't know her.
This was Roygun Belphegor, the second ranked rating game player and an icon not only to young female Devils but even to young boys and girls in other factions. Her beauty, her grace, her elegance, and her power. It was all simply so mesmerizing and inspiring, it was obvious to all of her fans that she was the greatest female Devil, bar none.
"I've been working on my muscles since the last time we fought!" The large man exclaimed looking down at Roygun right in her face.
"Yes~ Yes~ all that muscle and yet still about to eat the dirt. Honestly, I kinda feel bad~"
"I'll make you regret not taking me more seriously ROOOOOYYYYYGGGGUUUUUUNNNNN!!!!!" With this loud declaration given send a speedy yet heavy punch to the pink haired Devil who despite easily blocking it was forced to take a few steps back.
"Oh my, I almost felt that one." Roygun commented in a carefree tone angering her opponent further.
The burly man rushed at her with a fist high in the air which he sent rocketing toward her face.
Smirking Roygun elegantly dodged the blow letting it narrowly fly past her head before counter attacking with a punch of her own directly into his abdomen.
"ALGH!" He cries out in pain spitting up a bit of blood. Despite the pain of the attack he refuses to take a step back and attempts to punch Roygun once again but again she easily dodges.
Strike after strike of his is met with a blow of her own and as each of his hits miss while hers always connect.
It was clear to anyone who had the advantage in this match and yet no one could deny that although stupid the mans efforts were admirable.
"I'll admit, you've certainly improved greatly since our last match however..." Roygun jumped back, surprising the man before she rushed back in faster than his eyes could track and sent one punch into his abdomen.
Then before he could even hope to recover from the critical blow he's met with a kick to his side sending him staggering to the left only to be met with a high kick directly under his chin.
"OHHHH baby! It looks like the great Cherry Blossom Devil Roygun is about to use it! Her signature technique!" The announcer yells out causing the crowd to begin cheering in enthusiasm.
"You need to learn how to climb a hill before you try climbing a mountain." As she stated this the Cherry Blossom Devil stomped her foot digging it into the earth and cracking it in the process. Pulling her hand back a white glow surrounded her fist ominously.
It was the Belphegor clan's special ability "Crack" which allows them to create a tear on anything for the most part.
"FOUR STEP DESTRUCTION!!!!" She yelled, sinking her fourth blow into his chest and sending him flying back with barely any noise from him. Based on the whites of his eyes the punch had completely knocked him out and damaged his internal organs greatly.
Where he landed a giant dust cloud emerged and the crowd cheered that much louder as Roygun lifted her fist into the air in victory.
"AAAAANNNNNNNDDDDDD there it is folks! The devastating FOUR SSSSSSSTEPPPP DESTRUCTIONNNNNNNN!" The announcer yelled, the cheers were so overwhelming that if one were to be sitting in the crowd they likely would be able to feel the very sound waves in the air.
Unfortunately however, the child watching this show on the Tv screen was not there to celebrate with everyone, still though she stood up and began cheering herself.
"Roygun! Roygun! Roygun!" She clapped her hands together rhythmically with the name clearly elated by her idol's victory.
This girl was Cebrail Caritas, an Angel Human hybrid, a miracle child as the Angels often called kids like her. No tricks, spells, nor technology she was simply born from the pure love between an Angel and a Human.
"Cebrail darling?" The child's mother, one of the Four Great Seraphs, Gabriel called to her daughter and stepped into the living room.
She wasn't used to her daughter being too loud as under most circumstances Cebrail could be found fishing in a sky pond quietly or simply taking a nap under the sun. The only reason she would be so loud is if...
She looked at the Tv and saw the thing that she dreaded most in the world, "Cebrail~ why don't you watch a cartoon instead of that... Devil..."
Gabriel's voice visibly shifted to a much more disgusted tone when she mentioned the Devil on the screen. She didn't know Roygun personally like she did Serafall Leviathan however she seriously hated her very own daughter admiring a Devil so much. Her daughter didn't show much interest in anyone and she didn't even fawn over her own mother the way she did that pink haired Devil, buying shirts and toys and always watching the women's silly matches.
"I'm fine." Cebrail said flatly not taking her eyes off the screen and clearly not properly understanding her mothers irritation.
"Cebrail!" Gabriel called to her daughter, stepping in front of the Tv, "Do you think this Devil is cooler than your mother?"
"..." Cebrail's response was just silence as she stared at her mother with her big beautiful yellow eyes that held nothing but pity in them.
Gabriel falls to her knees in fake sadness and stares at the ground in defeat. "Why aren't you saying anythinggggg~"
"Haaa~ mama..."
Gabriel looked up with hopeful eyes at her precious daughter only to be met with crushing criticism.
"You're being childish."
The words slammed into Gabriel like a punch to the gut making her recoil.
"Roygun is so cool I get being jealous but you're an adult."
"ARGGG!" Another blow.
"Mama you should reevaluate your priorities and get your work done instead of shoving it all to Adriel so you can laze around and complain about Ms.Serafall."
The final blow forced Gabriel to her knees once again with her hands on the ground and her head bowed low. It was a position that only Cebrail had the privilege of ever seeing as the prideful Gabriel didn't bow her head in front of anyone besides her daughter.
"I understand... but still your mom is really cool too you know...?" Gabriel looked up with tears in the corner of her eyes to find her daughter leaning over her and felt all of the damage previously done to her heal a bit as Cebrail gently patted her head.
"Of course mama I know you're really cool, but you're not a Tv celebrity I can buy merch of, and even if you were that'd be weird." Cebrail said innocently.
Gabriel with a new fire burning in her eyes stood up and picked up her child, "That's it! We Angels have been letting those Devils get way too popular using their Rating Games!"
"???" Cebrail wasn't exactly following however she did like being carried around by her mother, walking could be pretty exhausting with her short legs after all.
"Cebrail we'll be going down to the Fifth Heaven to figure out a way to make a system like the Evil Pieces... no it'll be wayyy better than that shoddy Devil system!" Gabriel declared turning off the Tv and making her way, along with Cebrail, out of the house.
"Ah... mama, wait for Epis."
Gabriel at her daughter's words stopped and bent down to pick up what could only be called a large hedgehog with grass growing on its back.
"Hmm~ this creature is really lacking in presence... are you certain that it's a Sacred Gear Cebrail?" Gabriel commented holding it up to her eye level.
Epis visibly shook as it met Gabriel's eyes, "You're scaring her."
"If it can be scared so easily it can't be very strong. Darling, why don't we just get you a new one?"
"You make it seem like Sacred Gears grow on trees."
"We Angels are the ones in control of the Sacred Gear system, remember dear?"
"Are you trying to start a war?" Cebrail asked incredulously.
"Who would dare start a war with us? The Devils? Those disgraced Fallen Trash? The heretic gods? Do you think we would lose such a fight?"
"When a strong power enters the fray often fear will guide other groups to team up against it. Like in the World Wars."
"I don't think we'd lose." Gabriel responded with utmost confidence in the ability of Angels to win against any and all of the other factions.
"Haaa~ this is why Michael doesn't trust you mama. I want Epis."
"Well... if you say so..." Gabriel handed the creature to her daughter and quickly it burrowed into her arms hiding under her armpit.
Spreading her 12 wings Gabriel shoots out of the mansion and off they headed to Fifth Heaven where all of the Angels research facilities were, to create a system like the Evil Pieces.
