Kapitel 94: Avoiding People

After the incident of the Crown Prince 'proving' to her that he had no special relationship with Xiao Qi. Zhao Xing avoided Zhang Zhengyang as much as possible, she couldn't help but think about what had happened that day. Before it was ok if they were the only ones in one room, she wouldn't consider it, it wasn't like she didn't have many male friends in her world, and sometimes when they went about having fun, she could be the only girl in the group, yet she didn't care. But she just felt weird when she would meet Zhang Zhengyang again. Because, he wasn't like that before. Not touchy, only ever saying sarcastic words. The most he had done was carry her. How come that day he suddenly dragged her so close?

Even if he wanted to prove his innocence, there were millions of other ways to do so, why did he use this particular method?

She really wished she could find the right words to use to scold him. But she couldn't find enough.

She had to keep her distance, if not, this unpredictable prince might end up doing other than just dragging her like that. She remembered the day Zhang Zhengyang broke into her room during their previous journey. He had been drunk! All her life she had never been through such a thing. She only liked to watch it on TV, ok? She absolutely did not want to experience it. The more Zhao Xing thought about it, the more insecure she felt. In this world she was all alone. This society didn't seem to be a fair one for the weak. If one day the prince acted out of himself and did something to her, there would be no one to speak up for her! A place without family members, no police, the law was fixed by the strong, it was really scary.

She no longer went to the Crown Prince's study to review, she also made sure her maids accompanied her whenever she left her living quarters. Whenever they met, she would avoid having a long discussion. All she wanted was to finish her task in this world and return to hers. This wasn't too much to ask, right?

Zhang Zhengyang seemed to have noticed, but there was nothing he could do. For most of the time he was busy. His Imperial father has been assigned more and more work to him recently. He also attended court less often. He could only guess that his father's condition was getting worse by the day.

It seemed even though his father didn't like him very much, he trusted him most among his sons, and so most things in court were put into his hands, so in the end he didn't have time to care about Zhao Xing. Right now she couldn't help much since she couldn't use her ability, he had more pressing matters to attend to.

The day Zhao Xing was to move to her Noble Princess manor had arrived. As the Crown Prince had arranged, Nuo Nuo, Lan'er, Jiang Mama, and Xiao Qi would be following her from the Crown Prince manor. She was not only going to rid herself from the prince, but she was also going to become the mistress of her own manor, Zhao Xing was excited.

People in the mansion seemed a bit reluctant to part with her. She had been such an odd ball around them doing silly things, and soon they became used to it, now she was leaving that would mean they would have to return to their old way of life, the mansion that had been lively because of her presence would turn back to it's boring, gloomy state.

The ninth prince who had a similar character to her rarely visited, and even if he did, he didn't stay long. It was really a pity for her to leave.

Those who would miss her the most would be the guards in the mansion. They were always entertained by her weird ideas, it made their bland days have a bit of color. They also had more to talk about since she always did something that would bring about gossip in the Crown Prince's manor, this way, even if the manor was closed and seemed to not be part of the world, it would feel a little bit like a place humans lived a little city, with human inhabitants.

When Zhao Xing was leaving the Crown Prince wasn't in the manor, and so she wanted to leave without waiting for him.

"Grand Tutor, shouldn't we wait for the Master to return? It wouldn't look good if we leave by ourselves…" Nuo Nuo advised.

"Why wouldn't it look good? I'm leaving without him because he's busy, all these days he's either 'out' working on 'in' working. As busy as he is, how can I bother him with such trivialities?" Zhao Xing spoke self-righteously. Of course she wouldn't admit that she just didn't want to see the Crown Prince's face.

"Cough, you should also change the way you address me…instead of Grand Tutor, call me mistress, if not people would get suspicious if they heard it."

The two little maids had no problem with this, besides, their master had already given them to Zhao Xing, and they were to serve her like she was their original master. But Xiao Qi, who had just arrived, frowned upon hearing this. She had disguised herself, her catchy appearance had been changed to a more ordinary one, that way she looked was like any other servant working under a woman of Zhao Xing's present status, not too unsightly, not standing out too much either. She had even changed her clothes, right now, if someone saw her they would never believe this person was Xiao Qi.

Xiao Qi didn't bother with her in the end, she knew it would indeed sound suspicious if they addressed her by her this title so she didn't complain even if she was dissatisfied. "The master said he would be accompanying you himself. Don't tell me you've forgotten."

Zhao Xing recognized her in an instant, though it seemed she had been transformed into a totally different person, the one thing that didn't change was the fierceness in her eyes whenever she looked at Zhao Xing, and of course her harsh way of addressing her.

"I didn't forget, I'm just being considerate." She didn't want to spend another day here. I mean, why would she when her own mansion was out there waiting for her? She dreamed of all the things she could make out of that place, she'll turn it into her paradise. She could do whatever she wanted with it. She could even paint all the walls pink and no one would complain. She was bursting with excitement at present why should she wait for that killjoy to come and spoil the fun with his presence. He might even go as far as sending people to restrain her actions. She had to leave before he arrived, ok?

The people in the mansion didn't dare go against her. Although the Crown Prince had told Zhao Xing he would accompany her, he didn't tell them to not let her out if she wanted to, and so when Zhao Xing got her things ready and told them to prepare a carriage, no one dared to disobey. Xiao Chen wasn't here, the stewards didn't have much power, and Xiao Qi, well because of the incident from the other day (When Zhao Xing fooled Xiao Qi), those in the manor began to respect Zhao Xing more. The one who was more favored they didn't need anyone to tell them, after their Master had been so obvious about it.

Xiao Qi herself couldn't do much about it, but she hoped Zhao Xing would end up angering the Crown Prince and get a scolding.

"Do whatever you want then, 'mistress'." Xiao Qi said, emphasizing the last word.

Zhao Xing knew she was threatening her, but she didn't think much of it. The day before, Zhang Zhengyang had just told her casually that he would accompany her. It wasn't like it was against any rules, or it would make anyone look bad. Besides, if the prince left the affairs of the court to take care of her small issues wouldn't it bring unnecessary attention towards herself?

But before Zhao Xing entered into the carriage to leave, another carriage arrived just in front of the manor.

The curtains of the carriage opened.

"If I didn't come back on time you really would have left without me."

'Crap, this guy came back early!'

"Zhang…cough, Crown Prince…" Zhao Xing remembered they were outside, she couldn't call him by his name.

He was back, and her plan was ruined.

Zhang Zhengyang smiled at her. "You're leaving so fast, why do I feel you're running away from something…or someone?" He said with a raised brow.

"How…how can that be, who would I be running way from?" Zhao Xing laughed awkwardly.

'If not you, who else?'

"I still have things to discuss with you, so I'll see you at the Noble Princess manor."

Zhao Xing's smile froze when he mentioned 'discuss'.

'What did he mean by discuss?'

Zhao Xing boarded the carriage along with her two maids and Xiao Qi. As for Jiang Mama, she had already been sent to the manor ahead of time.

Zhang Zhengyang's carriage went ahead of them, leading the way.

Zhao Xing sighed inwardly, it was only at this moment she realized the gravity of her situation. She remembered the time Zhang Zhengyang promised to protect her.

'Pei! Who was he protecting?!'

Zhang Zhengyang, Zhao Xing, neither of them knew what was actually going on in the other's mind. One dreaded the other's intention, while the other simply didn't care.
