Mingan and Luan shouted after him, but he was already swerving toward the following whimpering. The closer he got, the stronger the scent of blood—and the injured creature’s scent. Cas’s heart started pounding. Oh Goddess, what happened? He crashed through brush and wounded around trees until she came into view.

“Shani?” he rasped through his wolf’s mouth.

The young female who he’d fled from was in her base form lying on her side—because her right arm was caught in a bear trap.

Mingan and Luan caught up to him. Luan gasped through the mind link, ‘Danior’s daughter?’

Cas didn’t feel the shift take over his body, but the moment his base form hit the ground, Mingan halted him, gaze hard and chops starting to wrinkle as her teeth gripped their bag of clothes. The softest growl conveyed, Put some d*mn pants on.
