Blacktooth Camp

Shani slipped out of camp before Harkin or her mother could find her. She shifted into her wolf form, a satchel of Blacktooth-style clothes held in her teeth.

The air was warm, the sky rosy, and in the distance, Shani heard the rousing of Blacktooth camp. She slowed to a trot when she neared the border and waited until an Epsilon appeared. He bared his teeth, ready to defend his territory, but thankfully he recognized her. His look went flat and he jerked his head to give her permission to pass through.

When the tents came into view, Shani veered around the perimeter to avoid attention. All she needed to do was talk to Danior—talk some d*mn sense into him. And it had to be quick because she promised her mother they would sort it out together.
