12.5% Fire God In Mha / Chapter 1: Dying Twice

Kapitel 1: Dying Twice

Ian White had one of the worst and happiest moments in his whole life, just today.

He was happy since he got realized from the hospital after a few months of intensive care. But at the same time afraid because instead of his apartment, he found himself in an endless black void.

But to understand the whole story we have to go back a few months. When Ian was still just an everyday normal bloke with financial issues.

-x-X-x-

"Fuck the boss and fuck the pandemic!"

Ian shouted angrily which earned a few annoyed glares from other pedestrians walking on the street. But he could care less about their useless complaints.

Because just now, he got the email that he got fired from his job as a waiter.

Since the pandemic started, more and more people got laid off. So Ian already guessed that someday will be his turn to say goodbye. But he was still frustrated because of it.

"At least say into my face, not through a fucking email, you spineless bastards!"

*Gulp*

He gulped down the few remaining drops of alcohol and crashed the can with one hand.

He threw the crashed can towards the trash closest to him.

*Flop*

The beer can made a nice ark, missing the trash by a few centimeters and falling beside it on the ground.

"Oh fuck yourself you stupid bitch, You can't even..." While angrily mumbling all the curses he knew, Ian still went to the trash and bent down to pick up the can.

After all, he didn't want to be the one who is responsible for the extinction of the blue whales.

*Screech!*

Hearing the sudden sound of a truck braking he looked up from the ground.

To his shock, he came to face the headlights of an eight-wheeler. Just a few meters away, coming towards him with full speed.

*Du-Duu!*

'Fuck I don't want to die yet!' The honk of the truck woke him up from his shock and he tried to jump out of its way.

*Bumm!*

However Ian wasn't fast enough and in the end, the truck hit him.

*Thud*

Because of the impact of the crash, his body flew a few meters and then landed heavily on the hard pavement.

For Ian, his sight started to blur and the panicking voice of the pedestrian became more and more distant and unrecognizable.

His eyelids became heavier and heavier. And started to slowly close down until the whole world became black for Ian.

He found himself in an endless dark void without any light or sound.

But to his frustration, he couldn't move or talk. And the only thing he could do was to wait for something to happen.

So he waited, he waited for days then months but nothing happened.

.

.

.

When Ian was just about to give up after a year of waiting but something finally happened.

Suddenly, a bright spot of light appeared in the distance and it became bigger and bigger. Until the whole void was shining brightly, blinding Ian.

'What the fuck is happening?!'

The light died down after a few moments and the world became dark again.

But now something was different from before, Ian was able to finally move his body. Only weakly but it was still better than nothing.

*Beep-beep...*

'It seems I got back my hearing as well!' Ian thought after hearing the rhythmically beeping mechanic voice.

Gathering his strength he slowly opened his eyes which were closed for more than a year and looked around.

'It seems I survived and now I am in a hospital.'

Ian was in a room with other patients probably in coma like him, lying in beds.

He looked down at his body which usually was quite fit, now was sickly thin and pale.

*Bip, bip, bip!*

The machine beside his bed madly started to beep when he pulled off the things stuck to his body.

*Bum*

The entrance door slammed open and a woman in blue nurse clothes came in through the door, running.

She became shocked when she saw Ian sitting up on his bed. Ian became a little embarrassed because of her staring.

He wanted to greet her but before he could, the nurse woke up from her shock and turned around, and run out of the room. Through the same door which she came in.

'She went as fast as she came, huh!'

Ian was left alone in his awkward silence.

.

.

.

The nurse came back after a few minutes but now she was followed by a doctor. Who, after seeing Ian, started inspecting him while asking him all kinds of questions. Ian tried to answer while asking a few question as well.

The inspection lasted more than an hour and a few other doctors came as well. Apparently, it was rare for a patient to wake up from a long coma.

In the end, after the hour-long inspection, all the doctors jointly agreed that Ian is healthy as an acorn. And he only needs to build up some muscle so he has to go on therapy.

So in the next two weeks, Ian went on muscle-building therapy. Throughout which, he learned how to walk and run again.

And through these two weeks, he learned what happened to him after he was hit by the truck. Things like his coma actually lasted for 412 days. And he was now instead of a broke man without a job now was a rich man with millions in his bank account.

Because the company of the truck driver had to pay his medical bills and some compensation. And luckily Ian had insurance as well.

So when the therapy finally ended after two weeks the doctor made a final check-up and reluctantly let him go.

"I am ready!"

Ian stood at the entrance of the hospital. In a newly bought suit. Ready to face society again and change his life for the better from now on with his money.

And without hesitating, he took the first step outside of the hospital after almost one and a half years. His back was upright and his chin was in the sky!

*Slip*

But he couldn't enjoy the glorious moment because he fell and hit his head.

*Thud!*

Ian's head started to bleed heavily and his sight started to black out again.

When he woke up, he found himself in the endless black abyss again.

"Shit, here we go again!"
