At the same time, another chaos was brewing in a certain part of the city.
Hot steam filled the bathroom as the person inside stood still under hot shower in this cool weather. Drop by drop, the water trickled down. A drop trickled down the head, the forehead and then towards long eyelids, the colourless drop getting coloured in the darker shade of red every inch that it travelled. The streak of red then reached the mirror of the soul, the Eyes. Although lifeless, they showed a feeling of satisfaction just like when a lost and starved child would show when he had just satiated his hunger. But just this sight surrounded by the red drops which were dripping down the eyelids was enough to shake a person to the core with horror. What more when the whole body was painted red.
As the shower continued, the water loosened and washed down the dried clots of blood stuck onto the white skin. Bit by bit the water trickled down along with the blood clots, flowing down, leaving the white translucent skin. As the body was getting cleaned one could see that there was no new wound although there were countless old ones. As the sight and the rustic smell of the blood diminished from the surroundings, the person's breathing became more regular and so did the eyes as they start to regain its clarity. Just like a person who was awake after a long and peaceful sleep. It took a while for the person to get accustomed to the environment.
"Shit!" a curse was heard and soon the person dashed out of the bathroom towards the room. And just as expected the phone placed on the bedside table was buzzing with a known ringtone which suddenly calmed the person's surge of emotions.
"Sister Rain!!" two voices clad in worry came out of the speakers.
"It's me" answered Rain.
Two loud sighs of relief were heard from the other end of the phone. "You didn't get any injury, did you?" Alex asked with a concerned voice.
"No. I don't think so." Rain said giving a quick look over her whole body in front of the mirror. How did I get back?" asked Rain after confirming that there was indeed no new injury.
"Your bodyguards brought u back" replied Zed in a grim voice. "What exactly happened?"
"They started first." Rain quickly answered as if she was afraid of getting reprimanded of starting a fight.
"Sister Raiiinnn… it's no time to joke." Alex said, admonishing her.
"I am being serious okay. I was just out to get some food when a drunkard suddenly appeared in front of me in a dark alley and dragged me inside the bar while covering my mouth."
"And you couldn't do anything? Is this what you mean? As if I would believe you" Alex chimed in, jabbing at her words.
Rain gave him a stare when she noticed another pair of eyes glaring at her. "Okay Okay!!… it's my fault okay. I thought it would be only a bunch of people and it had been a while since I last loosened my muscles. Thus, I let them drag me. Who would have known them to be in so many numbers" Rain said looking at her fingers, pouting.
"What do we do with you sister Rain?" a pair of voice sounded at the same time in the same doting manner.
"What happened next? I need to know the details to keep you out of their radar. Where did this take place?" Alex asked, trying to be serious but could not hide the excitement in his voice. It had been a while since he saw his sister in action.
"They took me to a bar and it looked like they were having a party. I was surprised to see so many people. Seeing the situation, I was planning to dodge them and run from there but before I could do anything, one of the guys jumped at me. I pushed him and flew from there but then more people came at me forcing me to retaliate. They were drunk so they were wild with their attacks. The more I fought them the more in numbers they came and attacked. Then as the situation got in my favour, they took out their weapons and forced me to corner. That's the last thing I recollect. After that I came around only to find myself under the shower" Rain reiterated the incident to them. "You said that my bodyguards brought me back. How did they come here?"
"What? Do you think that you can always fool us. We order them to follow you to Andville the moment we get to know you were here. Don't always try to run away from them sister Rain. They are there to protect you from such situations. What do you think would happen if they did not arrive there on time. We didn't say anything earlier, as you were in Clam city where you were relatively safer than here in Andville, the capital. Even a slight negligence on our part may expose the secret that we have been protecting with our lives." Zed turned grim towards the end.
