Kapitel 62: 2.11.

Each class had only three instructors guiding the students.

Grian Smith, functioning as the homeroom teacher, physical class trainer and combat instructor.

Miss Willy, or Elaine Willy, is in duty of educating the students on the survival aspect by equipping them with knowledge on survival techniques, camping, monster biology and some rules of thumb among other aspects.

Judy, Third Grade Mage of The Arcane Magic Ensemble, was among the five hundred mages who contributed to the hero's summoning. She came to the academy because she wanted to teach the hero but ended up getting a post as a magic instructor for this class instead. She was the third instructor.

"If you're a mage, please raise your hands," Grian queried.

Schwii and Sequencee raised along with their other mage compatriots.

"Those that raised their hands please move to the right, those that didn't move to the left. I'll assume those that are at the left to be familiar with one weapon type at least. Alright, we'll begin with a warm up session."

The days started with an easy breezy tempo, everyone did light stretches following along Grian like little children. Sequencee found it silly.

"Now make ten laps around the hall. Sequencee, you're the class representative you take the lead."

Everyone blinked.

Their current venue was in one of the bubble fields in the training theater. As all enforcer physical classes were conducted in unison, some groups have already begun to make their laps. And in all honesty, ten laps was quite a stretch for someone who had never exercised all their life.

"Sure thing," Of course, Sequencee didn't find it all that difficult and just ran. The entire class followed behind him.

Schwii was questioning the need for something like exercise in the curriculum, but as the student she knew she couldn't complain. She was here to learn something about the way humans did things, and so she silently obeyed.

"This is.. tiring.."

Schwii shouted as she ran in tandem with Sequencee.

"You should slow down then."

"Why does a mage need to build stamina.."

'So slow down jeez..'

While Sequencee kept his pace slow, a number of students struggled to keep pace, especially the mages. On the eight lap, crowded with the students of the other class, Sequencee passed by the fished-eyed Lilian and Ro.

The final lap was achieved and everyone returned to the bubble. There were even those that lagged behind as much as two laps. So it was another ten minutes before everyone arrived. Fortunately those that were late all came from the mage group as Grian began to instruct those from the fighting group to perform a hundred sets of pushups and sit ups. Sequencee watched in envy, meanwhile Schwii who noticed his gaze stared at him as if he were some lunatic.

'How much does he train each night anyways?'

Schwii had snuck out of the dormitory to watch Sequencee train under Iona's tutelage but she would fall asleep by the time Sequencee did his 600th rep, by then Iona would pick her up from the spectator seat and send her off to bed. She heard from Iona personally that her consciousness couldn't even last past the halfway point of his nightly training ritual.

'He's really amazing.'

"Hello! Sorry I'm late!!!!"

BANG!

Someone fell from the sky and a cloud of dust blew into the air. Those from Grain's group paused to look. The dust settled and from within was a short girl wearing a big hat and robe, both were bright purple. One of her hands clutching to her still-flapping hat, the other held a staff with a crystal orb at the vertex.

Her sharp blue eyes swept across the students in front of hers.

"Hm.."

'This is our magic instructor? She's really.. really short.'

"Good morning all. I'm Judy, Third Grade Mage of The Arcane Magic Ensemble. I will be your magic instructor for this class."

"Please get up," Grain requested the students that were in the midst of their sit ups, "This is Judy, one of the mages which took part in the summoning. As one of the contributors to this new era, I implore everyone to treat her with utmost respect," he then turned to her and reached out his hands, "It's a pleasure to work with you Judy."

"Same here. So those are your students and these are mine right?" Judy shook his hands firmly. After which, he pointed with her staff over to the mages.

"Yes."

"Right, then I'll begin my lesson. I might be extreme in my methods, please advise me if you see anything inappropriate."

Judy pointed to the ground and a clear earth bulwark extended from the ground, encasing all the mage students inside a box.

"It's a Third Grade mage! We're being taught by a third grade mage!"

"Ah, I feel like we're going to die."

"I'm so excited man! A sage from the Magic Ensemble."

"Hey, hey, Maybe she knows something about the heroes?"

"Oh yeah!"

Despite the danger they were about to face, the mages in the group were celebrating at the fact that a renowned mage was going to be their instructor for this semester. One had to recognize that despite being called a third grade mage, Judy was likely among the top one thousand mages in the entire Empire. It was as much of a privilege to be in her presence as it would be to to be her mentee.

Amidst the chatter, Judy appeared above the bulwark. Stairs were constructed as she made her way down.

"Alright. I would like to assess each individual one by one, beginning with you," Judy pointed her staff at a random student.

"Yes!"

"What is the most important aspect of being a mage?"

"Yes?"

"In your opinion, what do you think is important about being a mage?"

"Is it the spells used and the casting speed?"

"Good. Now you, what else?"Judy pointed at another student.

"Um.. mastery of magic?"

"Elaborate on that."

"You need to be able to use various spells depending on the situation?"

"Okay, next, you," The staff pointed at Schwii.

She blanked out for a moment before giving a reply.

"The ability to kill the targeted enemy."

"I like that answer, next," she pointed at another student.

One by one, she had the students voice their thoughts. Sequencee replied with something like being efficient in the mana conversion.

"As an enforcer, it is a must that you use what you learn here for good. I've met many people that've fallen into depravity, chasing strength and fame. I hope none of you here take that path. Understood?"

"""Yes."""

"Now, let's begin with the basics, create the four elements and stabilize them."

Saying so, the basic four elements manifested around Judy: fire, wind, earth and water.

Most students stopped at two, rare ones like Schwii pulled off three. Sequencee pulled off four without a hitch.

"Hm.. fundamentals are lacking I see. Right, for this I want everyone to achieve what he's able to," Judy pointed at Sequencee, "Maintain the evocation of four kinds of elements at once. The importance of the exercise is to learn multicasting as switching between the different elements at a moment's notice. Student, please give me your name."

"Sequencee."

"Good work. Is that your limit? Can you go further?"

"No. I can go further."

Sequencee thought about the implications of giving it his all.

'Would it be weird? No, in the first place I came here to learn. There are a lot of stronger people out there.'

Sequencee made his decision and revoked the illusion magic surrounding the other element floating around him– only half of it. Judy's eyes widened like saucers.

'What in tarnation is this..'

There were close to fifty different elements floating around him. Even irregular elements such as void, gravity, lava, nature, weather, ocean, spatial, lightning, plasma– and all of them were in their most condensed form.

The students took a step back in stupor.

".. Your name is Sequencee, correct?"

"Yes. I'm Sequencee."

"I'll talk to you later. You may be dismissed."

"Huh?"

She pointed her staff towards the wall and a hole opened up.

"You may be dismissed."

"Okay..?"

And so Sequencee went out, glancing back to look at Judy and Schwii a couple times. When he reached the other side, the hole that had appeared was filled back with dirt in an instant.

"What happened?" Grain asked.

"I don't know? She said I was dismissed.."

"Did you do anything out of the ordinary?"

"I showed her my magic.. I guess it's abnormal.. is it alright if I joined the rest?" Sequencee glanced at the students struggling on the ground.

"Will you be alright?"

"I can do pushups and sit ups no problem."

Grian looked at him with an odd face.
