Maximins Pov
I sipped from my drink and stared at Melissa who was talking about her life in North Carolina. Everyone was looking at her attentively, but my mind was somewhere else. Something in my guts was telling me that something was off. That somehow something didn't feel right. What took her so long? I excused myself from the table and went to look for Alexandra.
"Hey Max?" I turned around when someone called my name and furrowed my eyebrows when I saw Karla looking at me worried. "What is it?" I asked her worried myself. "Have you seen Alexandra? I've been looking for her everywhere." She looked at me with fretfully eyes.
I ran my hand through my hair and grunted in frustration. "God damn it!" I moved my jacket to the side as I put my hands on my hips, pacing in front of Karla. My hands running every time through my hair as I thought about where she could be.
"I'll check in the restroom, she said that she was going to pee like ten minutes ago." I moved my tie a bit nervous, something was killing me and if I don't find Alexandra soon. I'm sure I'll go crazy.
"Let's hope she's in the restroom." I nodded my head and walked toward the restroom, knocking on the door. "Alexa, are you in here?" I knocked again before walking in, opening the already half open stalls but she wasn't in here.
"Dammit!" I muttered to myself before walking out of the restroom, bumping into someone on my way out. "I'm sorry I wasn't.... Jaden?" He looked nervously around me, avoiding my gaze. "Hey Max." He walked past me, and I furrowed my eyebrows, turning around as I watched him walk away.
Something isn't right
I ran toward Jaden and tried to stop him, but he glanced back at me and broke into a run, shoving people out of his way. Stop him! I mind-linked my pack members and they went in wolf mode immediately and stood attend.
Two of my pack members jumped in front of Jaden, cutting him from moving further. He ran to the side and shoved waiters out of his way. Chris, he's going your way.
On it boss. If it wasn't for the situation, we were in. I would have rolled my eyes at his boss comment. Max, help me. Alexa's voice screamed inside of my head suddenly, making me freeze in place. We have him. Chris sent me through the mind-link and I didn't wait a second to rush toward them and grabbed Jaden by his jacket.
"Where is Alexandra?!" I spat out at him, clutching my fist in his jacket and raised him off the ground, "Tell me or you're a dead man!"
"I don't know what you're talking about." He looked away, avoiding the deadly look I was shooting at him. "Let go of me Max. You have no..."
"I have the fucking right to question you after you seem so nervously all of sudden. You surely know something so spell it!" I roared angrily, not playing around.
Lucy is here.
Alexa's panicked voice filled my ears once again making me go crazier. "Where the hell is she?! I know Lucy is behind this." I shook him and tossed him to the side, running my hands through my hair as I paced back and forth. "Fuck!" I threw a fist in the air angry with myself. She's in here somewhere with Lucy and I'm sure that this isn't going to end well.
I walked toward him and yanked him off the ground. "If you really loved Alexandra, you would tell me where she is." I gritted out. "She's pregnant for God sake's and knowing Lucy. She'll do something to hurt her."
Jaden gulped down slowly and nodded his head. "Fine. But let go of me first." I pushed him away and brushed my hands. "Where is my sister you bastard?!" Anderson punched him in the face, making him stumble backward and caught himself.
He grabbed his bleeding nose and stared at Anderson with guilty look on his face. "They are in the stairwell exit." I didn't think twice and rushed toward the stairwell exit, opening the door but it was stuck.
I growled and banged on the door with my body. "Max?" Alexandra ragged voice filled my ears. "Baby, are you in here? Open up? Where Is Lucy? Are you okay?" I asked multiple question all at ones, I was a mess and I wanted to know if she was okay.
"Is she in there?" Anderson asked as he came to stand next to me with the others following him. I nodded my head and started to bang my body again against the door. "Max, this is not going to work. We need the key to that door." Melissa stated as she stepped forward, putting a hand on my shoulder.
"Max." Alexandra ragged voice cried out again. "I'm bleeding." She choked out as she whimpered in pain. "I don't want to lose my babies." I banged my body harder on the door repeatedly, every time with more rage as I heard her whimper in pain.
"Do something! We need the key to that door!" My sister panicked as she yelled at the people looking at the scene that was unfolding in front of them. Everyone stood in shock, scare look on every one of their faces.
I used my wolf strength again and the door broke down, making it clash on the floor. I rushed in and looked around frantically. I ran down the stairs when I saw Alexandra on the ground on the end of the stairs.
I was about to walk toward her but backed away when I saw the pool of blood, she was in. I heard a few gasps and looked up to see the others looking down at the pool of blood with shock look on their pale faces.
I looked down at her and saw that she was unconscious. "Baby wake up." I looked around cautiously to where I was stepping and kneeled down next to her, touching her face. I was about to pick her up when someone stop me. "Don't move her. We don't know if by moving her the problem would get bigger."
"She's losing blood Karla! I can't let her stay here in the blood." I argued back with her but looked back at Alexa, brushing a lock out of her face. "Fuck this!" I picked her up bridal style and walked up the stairs, getting out of this place.
"Max wait! We're coming." I nodded my head in acknowledged and kept walking toward the exited of the hotel. "Max you can't drive like this! We'll come with you so you can sit with her in the back." Melissa and Alexander went with me, and the others went in Anderson's car.
We got in the car, and I put Alexandra's head on my lap as we sat in the back while Melissa drove us to the hospital. I shakily took my phone out of my pocket and called Leah so she could prepare when we get there.
"How much longer Melissa!" I said with uneasiness in my voice.
She looked at me from the rear view sadly. "We're almost there." I looked down at Alexandra, the bleeding had stopped but she was still unconscious. I sighed in relief when her stomach stared to move, knowing our babies were fine.
A smile appeared on my face and my hand cupped her stomach over her Sutton dress, rubbing it in circles. "Hey babies." I cooed at them as I brushed my other hand slightly on Alexandra's forehead, leaving down to give her a kiss.
"We're here." Melissa said, breaking me from the state of trance I was in and pulled her head from my lap and opened my door, kneeling inside of the car to pull her out. I picked her up bridal style and carried her where Leah was waiting with a stretcher and placed her on it.
"She's going to be okay. She's a very strong woman with strong babies inside of her, that will help her get well." Leah patted my shoulder and walked with the other nurse inside of the hospital.
I put my hand on my hip and ran a hand through my hair. "It's going to be okay Max. Let's go inside." I sighed and nodded my head in defeat, walking inside with the lots. I took a seat outside the emergency room, waiting for news from Leah.
I don't know how many times I changed from positions until Alexandra's parents came rushing in, asking for Alexandra. I wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone; my head was going through so much right now.
I lowered my head and put my hands on my forehead, breathing in and out as I tried to get myself to calm down. I was a complete mess. "Alexandra Armstrong?" My head shot up and I stood up abruptly, walking toward Leah.
"Is she okay?"
"What's going on Leah?"
"Is my daughter, okay? Talk Leah!"
"Let her breath please!"
"Everyone shut the fuck up!" I growled deadly as I looked around at all of them. I was getting sick and tired of their clattering the whole time we were here. "Talk Leah." I barked out irritated. Leah looked around nervously, brushing a few locks behind her ear. She cleared her throat awkwardly and started to speak. "She's fine but the babies might not be."
"How do you mean the babies might not be?" I shot them a warning look and turned back to look at Leah. "Can I talk to Max alone please?" Leah asked suddenly and I swear that my heart stopped beating.
"What! Why?" I shot them a warning growl this time and turned to look at Leah, nodding my head and walked toward her. "Let's go into my office." I followed Leah to her office and got in after her, talking a seat in front of her desk.
"What is it? Why do you want to talk to me alone?" I sat up straight in the chair as I looked at Leah in the eyes. She sighed and put her clipboard on her desk. "We have a problem." She bit her lips and looked at me nervously. "We might have found something we didn't see before."
"Stop running around and tell me what it is." I gritted out aggravated as I banged my fist on her desk, making her jump from her chair slightly. "Calm down Max." Leah straightened her white uniform and sat straight in her chair. "It's nothing serious. Just a complication to everything."
I groaned, running my hands through my hair. "What is the complication?" She looked at me for a long moment before replying, and when those words came out of her mouth I was left completely and utterly speechless.
Zoë's Pov
We were still at the hospital waiting for some news of Alexa, everyone was eager to know if Alexa was okay. I leaned my head on Anderson's shoulder as he squeezed my hand slightly, giving me a short smile. "What's taking Max so long. I want to see my sister." Anderson asked impatiently.
He stood up, taking my head from his shoulder and started to pace back and forth. I sighed and leaned in my chair, rubbing my stomach tiredly. "Anderson calm down." I leaned forward in my seat, grabbing his hand.
"How can you tell me to calm down? It's my sister we're talking about. I need to know something. Anything." Anderson yanked my hand away as he raised his voice at me. I looked down at my hand and blinked my eyes furiously as I stood up. "Where are you going?"
I ignored him and walked away from them. "I'll go with you." My sister said standing up but I shook my head before she could take a step forward.
"No. You stay here. I need to go for a walk." I smiled shortly at her and turned around, walking in the halls. I walked around in the hospital after I emptied my bladder and looked for the way back to the emergency room when I felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen.
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion as I leaned on the wall, my hand clutching at my stomach. When the pain subsided, I took a step forward only to double over as the pain started again. "Zoë? Are you okay?" Leah asked from behind me and put her hand on my back.
"I'm fine. Just a contraction." I shrugged it off and stood straight, turning around and give her a short smile. She looked at me doubtfully but didn't press it. "I'm fine I swear."
"Okay but if you need anything just ask me." I nodded my head and walked back inside the emergency room. The pain from minutes ago appeared but this time I felt something wet running down my legs as I followed it with my widened eyes.
I raised my dress and stared at the pool of water I was standing in. My lips parted as I clutched at my stomach, my eyes widened as I doubled over in pain, breathing in and out. I squeezed tightly as the pain grew stronger and fisted my hands, pinning my lips together.
I leaned against the wall as I made my way to the room, the wall supporting my body. I turned around the corner and bumped into someone, sighing in relief when I saw that it was Anderson. I pulled from the wall and grabbed onto his arms tightly, grunting in pain as I doubled over.
"Are you okay!?" Anderson asked frantically, looking at me for some kind of injury. My stomach tightened as I felt another contraction that made me cried out in pain. "My water just broke." I managed to choke out between tears and contractions as I looked up at him. He looked back at me scared shitless, making me more nervous than I already was.

I stood from the chair and pushed it back, running a hand through my hair as I paced back and forth in Leah's office. I can't believe this! What type of doctor are they that they didn't see her from the beginning.
My baby girl, my beautiful complication was in danger because the doctors didn't see her. I leaned my arms against the wall and lowered my head, talking a deep breath. A hand touched my shoulder and gave it a light squeeze in reassurance.
"We're going to do everything possible to get this under control. I promise." Leah uttered softly, running her hand down my back in a comforting away. "How is it even possible? I mean she's just a baby. How can they not see her?" I replied as I turned around, looking at Leah devastated.
Leah smiled understandingly at me. "The boys are bigger than her and they are taking all the space she needs. We can't do anything about it but just wait and see what happens."
I put my fist in my mouth and bit down, my foot tapping on the ground. "We can't tell her about the baby yet. Not until we're sure that she's going to survive the birth."
"Have some faith Max. You have some strong babies you know. After everything Alexa went through, they are still going strong and stronger than ever before." Leah responded with security, her hands on both shoulders as she looked at me in the eyes.
"I know they are. I have no doubt in them but she's probably little with her tiny space, fighting to go through this until is time for delivery." I lowered my head feeling ashamed of everything that Alexandra went through. This is my entire fault. If I hadn't messed with Lucy none of this would have happened.
"I know what you're thinking and you're being so hard on yourself." She raised my chin and gave me a encourage smile.
I looked at her with a short smile and turned serious. "I mean what I said, keep this between you and me. I don't want people to know about the baby." She nodded professionally and stood up as I did the same, walking with me toward her office door. "I'll tell her myself when we are sure that there are no complications."
"I understand Max. My lips are sealed." She zipped her mouth and laughed shortly before opening the door. "She's going to be okay."
"Can I see her?" I asked her as she walked me back in the emergency room.
She stops to take a deep breath and nodded her head in defeat. "Fine, but just a minute. She needs to rest." I nodded understandable and thanked her. "No need to thank me Max. I did it because I know you won't sleep until you see her." She smiled warmly at me.
"Leah is everything okay?" Alexis asked Leah as soon as we stepped in the waiting room. "I'm her mother. I need to know."
"She's okay Alexis. There is nothing wrong with her." Leah assured her. "Then why did you talk to Max alone, there must be something wrong!" Anderson butted in, arguing with Leah. Leah sighed as she rubbed her temples in circular motions. "She talked to me because I'm the father of these babies and sorry to say this but this is between Alexa and I."
"How dare you! She's, my daughter!" Aaron stepped in too, wrapping his arms around Alexis's waist. "We have rights too!"
"Aaron." Alexis turned to look at her husband. "Max is right. Alexa is no longer the little girl she was years ago she's going to be a mother and we need to stop getting in their business." Alexis tried to explain her stubborn husband.
"Well. She will always be my little girl and I have rights...." Aaron pulled away and started to get in my face. "Sir, you have the right to stay quiet." I gritted out between my teeth. "I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but they are our babies not yours."
"Dad. I think Max is right." Alexander butted in and I looked at him in shock. I never thought that he would someday defend me. "Me too dad. My sister is mated now, and Max has rights too. More now that Alexandra is having his babies." Adrianderson butted in two, pulling Chloe closer to him.
"Aaron please. Alexa is not a child anymore." Aaron growled at them and stalked out of the waiting room. "I'll go after him." Alexis sighed and turned to walk out of the waiting room too.
"Thanks for defending me." I thanked them all and turned to look at Leah. "Can I see her now?" She nodded her head and mentioned me to follow her. "I have to warn you. She's still unconscious so don't worry if she doesn't wake up."
I nodded my head and walked inside the room when Leah opened it for me and closed it behind me. I walked toward her, pulling a chair next to her bed and sat on it, talking her hand in mine. I leaned my head on her hand as I took a deep breath, looking back up and brought my hand up, kissing her knuckles.
She let out a whine in her sleep and my head immediately snapped toward her, leaning forward and brush her hair away from her face. "Baby? Can you hear me?" She furrowed her wet forehead as she let out a whine again.
She murmured incoherent words under her breath as her body started to move in distress. I touched her forehead only to yank my hand away when I felt it burn slightly. She's having a fever.
I pressed the button and soon after that Philip walked in. "Where is Leah? She's burning up!" I growled deadly at Philip as I made my way toward him.
"She's attending your mate's best friend."
