Kapitel 57: Calm before the War

"You're back!"

Xion clung to Ale the moment they entered the base. The others were also waiting for them right inside the gate.

"Yes I'm back. From a 30 minute walk. What's all this?"

Ale laughed as he stayed frozen in place, Xion not showing any intention of letting go anytime soon. Since he spent so much time with Light before coming here, he picked up some of his habits along the way as well, including this one.

"Annoying."

With that one word, Rudy grabbed Xion by the collar and yanked him away from Ale, surprising everyone around them. And since he didn't make any direct contact, there was no static either.

Before that moment, there was a certain awkwardness between the two individual, like oil and water that just won't mix together.

They were still oil and water, but Rudy's behavior towards Xion changed from passive to active. In short, he was no longer ignoring or acting like Xion didn't exist.

"Ack! What the-?!"
