Kapitel 216: I learned to smile with my parents

In the evening, Esther called for Édouard after he found out everything from Sylvester. After Édouard showed his presence, Esther could not stop praising him and opened his arms to hug him.

"You have proven yourself, Édouard!" Esther pronounced and patted his back before withdrawing away. "I gave you a week and you changed my daughter's decision in a day," he asserted and couldn't hide his happiness.

"I didn't know my conversation with Princess Matilda would result in a change in her decision so quickly," Édouard stated.

A palace servant came forward with a tray in her hand. Esther picked up the two chalices and handed one to Édouard.

"Édouard, you are capable to do a lot of things," Esther clinked their glasses and then drank the wine before going back to his seat.

"We have decided to go back to Escana tomorrow, Your Majesty," Édouard stated. He settled on another chair and put the chalice on the table after taking a sip.
