Kapitel 209: Absolving The Sins Committed By His Father

At the same time, far away in the capital, Kousuke couldn't stop thinking of his accidental encounter with Heisuke the other day. Instead of going for lunch, he remained in the director's office.

Kousuke lay down on the couch, crossing his legs and placing them on the armrest. With one hand resting on his forehead, his gaze on the ceiling above was distant.

From the moment Kousuke returned from Kaagawa City until his accidentally bumping into Heisuke and his girlfriend at the restaurant, countless thoughts had been haunting his mind. 

From what Kousuke saw for himself and gathered from Mr. Kawata, he was certain that Heisuke and Mrs. Saeki had been living a hard life.

How could they not? They basically lost everything and they had to flee from the capital with nothing on their backs.

"It turned out... the debtors managed to track them down," murmured Kousuke to himself, thinking back to what Mr. Katawa had told him before.
