Pamela breathed a sigh of relief looking at the bathroom door that was now tight close. When Andrew arrived just now, they were so nervous thinking that he heard their whole conversation but seeing he was clueless she concluded there was nothing to worry about.
Now, she needed to think on how to make Andrew bring her and Christie to meet with the chairman of WT Group. A smile appeared as she thought of something and she hoped this one would work and she did not need to rack her brain to think of more plans after this.
"Dinner first?" She raised up right away when Andrew stepped out of the bathroom.
"Yes." He moved to the wardrobe and took out his pyjamas.
She observed his mood and it looked like he was okay. Maybe she would try it when he was finished with his dinner. She walked to him and helped him with the button before smiling, trying her best to brighten up his mood.
"Let's go, I asked Milah to cook your favourite dish today." She said as she clasped their fingers together.
The clear plate made her take a long breath. She was ready to start her plan. "How's work today?"
"It was getting better, the investor seemed convinced and I think they wouldn't want to pull out the investment anymore. But yeah, I still need to completely convince them to not to." He took a napkin and wiped his mouth.
"Can't you ask the chairman for help?"
"He has helped me a lot already and I'm too ashamed to ask for more." To think of all the help that he got from him, he wouldn't even dare to ask for more.
"Oh maybe we could ask him for lunch or dinner together, as a token of appreciation?" She had started, she needed to make this work.
"The chairman asked me the other day to have dinner together. As we need to discuss his son and Camellia's marriage." He got a phone call from Michael a few days ago, being occupied with company matters, he almost forgot about it.
Like a moon falling on her lap, Pamela said yes loudly in her mind. "That is great. So when? Tomorrow is Saturday and I think it is a good day to discuss this matter."
Andrew looked at her and it made her nervous.
'Am I being so obvious?'
At that time, waiting for Andrew's reply was such a nerve racking moment. "Why…?" She acted like a fool, asking like she didn't have any ulterior motive.
"Nothing. Should I? I will ask the chairman if tomorrow dinner will be good." He said, leaning on the seat and drank water from his glass.
"Would it be like family's dinner or only you and the chairman?" She asked.
"Me and chairman." His short answer showed how tired he was.
"Can you bring me together?"
He raised his eyes again as the question came, "Why?" Slightly frowned, he didn't think she was needed to be there discussing the matter.
"We have been married for nine years now. Am I not a part of your family?" She played the victim card, acting like she felt betrayed as he was still not accepting her.
"No, it is not like that. It just- "
"It's okay, I know I'm not her real mom and I'm not worthy of it." Cutting him up, she acted sad. She could even win an award as a best actress.
"Okay, okay, stop crying. I will give the chairman a head up that I will bring you together." He stood up and wiped the one drop of tear that was released from Pamela's eye. "Don't even think like that again."
Nodding, she hugged him by the waist as she was still sitting and a smile of success appeared on her face.

[Just get ready and be there on time.]
Pamela sent the reminder to Christie before she left for the meeting. She reminded Christie a lot last night, less makeup, proper clothes and good behaviour. She could only pave the way, Christie was the one who needed to make this happen.
"Here?" She regretfully didn't ask where the meeting was, the chairman chose a Japanese restaurant and to add on, it was the one that required them to sit on the floor. She was wearing a freaking tight dress!
"Yes." He looked at her up and down as he realised why she asked that question. He shook his head while sighing, "And why did you choose this dress among all??"
"I just want to look good.." She bit her lips as she felt worry.
"Babe, you look good in everything!" He was sweet and rarely got mad at her. "So, how? Do you want to go back?"
"No!" Not even a second, she answered the question right away. "I think it is okay, since it is stretchable."
Nodding, he walked straight and was ushering to one private room that was booked by the chairman. The slide door was opened and the chairman could be seen right away.
"Oh sorry sir, did you wait long?" Andrew quickened his pace, and walked in right away.
"Ah no, I just arrived no longer than five minutes. It's okay. Have a seat." He smiled and nodded to the both of them.
"Introduce you to my wife, Pamela." He said, after they had taken their seats.
"Oh hello Pamela, I'm sorry I couldn't attend your wedding at that time because of a conflicted schedule. I guess this is the first time we met?" He looked at Andrew to confirm it.
"No worry sir, it's been a long time. Ah and yes, this is her first time meeting you." He confirmed it.
"Okay." He pursed his lips, to form a straight smile. "Oh I hope you don't mind, I already ordered the food."
Andrew waved his hand as a sign that he was okay with it. While Pamela by her side didn't look like she was okay, she tried her best to sit comfortably but it was still awkward.
A few seconds of silence made Michael start the conversation again, "I guess we can start discussing the matter while eating."
"Sure sir. Did Alexander arrive safely?" He heard from the chairman that his second son would fly back home and decided to stay for good and he guess that was why he wanted to move the marriage faster.
"Yes, he was back I think around a month ago. How about Camellia? This year is her final year right?"
"Yes, she seems busy. Maybe with her final year project." Lately, it was hard seeing his daughter, seeing her two days ago was a coincidence and that was when she was rushed to the salon to fix her hair. She didn't tell him what happened to her hair at first but after questioning her so many times, she gave up and told him that Christie messed up with her hair. He did feel frustrated and wanted to scold Christie right away, but thinking back on what Pamela would feel about that, he ended up with only advice. He didn't realise that by doing that so many times, he had been hurting his own daughter's feelings.
"I'm sorry sir, excuse myself. My stomach suddenly started acting up." He felt weird with the sudden stomach ache, maybe he ate something bad?
The plan that she schemed seemed to go well, she was glad in her heart. So she instantly touched the send button to send the message that she composed earlier to inform Christie that the line was clear. When she got a reply saying she had arrived she smiled. Everything seems to be going well!
"Sorry Sir, my daughter is coincidentally having dinner with her friends here, do you mind if she joins us for a while?"
