The energy in the red core became more violent but Seth made the wisp thread wrap around it and stopped it from that. Not only that, the wisp that was in the core began to harmonize the clashes between various energies.

It involved Seth's mental fortitude and so it was so easy to achieve. That was when he kept learning many things about the creatures and their behaviour and the core itself.

For the Abhorrent Monster to become Gawee Monster they have to feed on normal animals and beasts that were not contaminated like them. 

They also need a lot of water. But feeding here doesn't refer to just biomass, they feed a bit of aura and spirit.
