Kapitel 20: NINETEEN
Justice League Watchtower, A little bit far from planet earth.
(MC's POV)
The night I got the message from the court of owls, I went straight to the Wayne manor to go speak with batman. I needed his help finding my mother afterall. My numerous drones scattered all over Gotham City has found no sign of her and I couldn't find the members of the Powers family either. They seem to have just vanished from the surface of the planet.
Unfortunately, it would turn out that even batman needed time and more resources to help me find my mother. And that is how we ended up here in the watchtower, scouring over the last 24hrs recording of every satellite that floated over Gotham. Same was being done to all of Gotham's security cameras by the AI that I had created some months ago. It is not a very advanced one, as I just started dabbling in it.
In spite all of this technology, I still have no luck in finding my mother. Nothing has popped up and every second wasted here waiting for my mother to be found, is every second they could use to kill her. I have one last avenue that I can use to find her, but I'm very reluctant to go there and for a good reason too.
I would have to shove my reluctance down my throat and go meet her to help me, for mom. So with that mindset, I turned to the other heroes and announced my departure from the watchtower,
"Uhm, I'm taking my leave. While the AI keeps searching, I am going to look for help from someone else. Thanks for the assistance you have rendered me." With that said, I began to walk to the zeta tube technology Batman used to transport me here. I was just seeing through my mask the notification that the AI has copied the schematics of the Zeta technology when the voice of one of the most beautiful women I've ever set my eyes on interrupts me.
"Who is this other person that can help you." Asks Wonder woman.
"She's a friend of mine. I believe you might know her in fact, she is the lady Circe." I answer honestly, wait why did I tell her that? I look down and see the lasso of truth wrapped around my ankle. I wrench it off and throw it back at her, I'm very pissed off right now.(Ray doesn't know about the poor relationship Circe and Wonder woman have)
I continue my walk to the zeta tube and seconds later I'm gone from the watchtower and the watchful eyes of the Justice league.

(After Raymond left the watchtower)
(General POV)
The 6 heroes superman, batman, flash, wonder woman, martian manhunter and black canary all stared at each other not sure what exactly to say yet. It was Batman's voice that broke the silence,
"Flash I think we better send you to keep an eye on Raymond. He is known to take drastic and brutal actions when things get too complicated, and I do not want that repeating itself." Flash nods and was about to do that when Wonder woman spoke up again,
"I think I better handle this on Batman. I'm much better suited to deal with the likes of lady Circe." And without waiting to hear any objections, she walks over to the zeta tube and is off to Gotham in a flash.
Batman stands still, glaring at the machine through which wonder woman just left. Then he turns his glare to Flash who gives a shrug and smiles wryly.

Home of lady Circe, Mystic Area of Gotham City.
(MC's POV)
With my glider I quickly arrived at Circe's home from the spot the Zeta tube dropped me in a matter of seconds. I find nothing in the house after searching for a while, until a familiar voice speaks out behind me.
"Raymond I'm behind you." I turn and see Circe standing and looking at me. The sight of her causes all the anger and resentment I've been feeling at myself to come back. All I can think of is how all that is happening right now is her fault, and she must have read my mind as she now looks sad and remorseful. At least as sad and remorseful a goddess can look.
"I didn't mean to hurt you the way I did Ray, I was just so angry and I thought I will simply take off the enchantments I laid on your house. I had believed that your technological protections would have been enough. I'm so sorry." I want to scream at her right now, but there's no time for that. Let me ask for what I need. Before I can speak, she interrupts and says.
"I know why you're here, take this it will help you in finding your mother. I'll also send you there. I'm sorry I can't do more, but I can interfere only so much or else the skyfather might become displeased." She snaps her fingers and I find myself at the door of a mansion somewhere in Gotham.
My glider floats right beside me too and I try to assimilate the information being poured into my brain from Circe. Good I know the layout of the building and its defences, that is the 38 talons standing inside the building, surrounding my mother. With all that in mind I take my first step into the building, my glider in tow.

(Back in Circe's home)
(General POV)
Circe just sent Raymond away, when she sensed someone watching her house. Looking through her house walls she sees the floating demigod amazon hybrid of a superhero known as wonder woman.
'Oh so she's here to watch dear Raymond. I can't let her interfere with his business, I'll help him hold her off.' She reasons and with a wave of her hand, the gargoyle statues around her home come alive and attack wonder woman.

Court of owls secret hideout, Somewhere in Gotham.
(MC's POV)
I sword greets me upon entering the mansion. I simply smack the blade aside and using my own sword, split the first of my attackers into two halves from groin to head.
I continue down the building as I know my mom is kept underground with the head talon acting as her sentinel. Halfway through the talons, a speaker in the building buzzes on and I hear a voice growl out,
"Speak." Following the command, my mother's voice comes on in shaky breaths obviously portraying her fear,
"Raymond." She starts, "Heartbroken doesn't come close to describing the pain I feel at not being in your life in the future, but I would never change or forego the time we have spent together and the immense joy you have brought me, You are without a doubt my proudest accomplishment." She says, but why does she sound like she's about to die. I shout out for her,
"Mom, don't worry I'm coming for you!" I quickly increase my speed of getting to her. I cannot waste anymore time. As I tear through talon after talon and go deeper underground, she continues talking.
" I won't be around to see you grow even more. It's a hard thing to say and even harder to face. Love hard. As they say, it is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all."
"Always try your best; I could never ask any more of you. Never fear failure – you will learn more from mistakes than successes. There's never anything more certain than change so embrace it. Don't be afraid to try new things. Travel as much as possible – it will shape who you are."
"I will be forever grateful for the time we spent together, the memories we created, the love we shared. It was always you. Always will be."
"Goodbye and don't forget, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU."
As she finished saying that something sounded like it fell open sharply and then the snap of a rope too. Then came the sound of someone struggling for a few seconds before stopping. It is at that moment, that I burst through the door holding my mom and I come face to face with her body suspended by a rope tied around her neck. Standing beside her is the head talon, whom I quickly dispatch of with a sword slicing his head off cleanly.
I cut my mom down and hold her in corpse in my arms as I sit on the ground. No amount of tapping, shaking or calling her name caused her to wake up, while I ignored the message my mask sent me that all functions of her body having stopped means she's dead. I just can't accept it, this woman raised me and because of my deeply hidden thirst for recognition, she's now lying dead in my arms.
I sit there for a few minutes, before accepting the situation for what it is. I stand up my mom's body in my arms and walk back until I exit the mansion and I'm under the gloomy skies of Gotham city once again.
I climb onto my glider and it takes me to my goblin lair. There I keep my mother's corpse where it will stay preserved. I walk over to the glass tube in which my newest suit sits.
A truly complete nanotechnological suit, very similar to the one used by iron man in infinity war. It is also powered by an ark reactor made with kryptonite, making it exceedingly powerful in nature.
Now it's time to raze Gotham down to ground zero. I swear I will make Gotham burn in ways hitherto unseen. Their children will cry as they watch me gut their parents and when I'm done with the parents, I'll move on to the children and make sure that they never corrupt Gotham with their evil ways ever again. I will accomplish the justice my mother has always tried to give Gotham in one night, this I swear to her.

Dark_Path_007 What is quite possibly the biggest tragedy of the fic just happened. For the first time, I feel Ray's pain. Lord help Gotham and what he's about to do to it. They think they know pain and suffering well he's about to turn it up a notch.
A moment of silence for Madam Pearson.
