Kapitel 220: The state of the city

Before Victarine could understand what was happening, she saw something metal sliding into her field of vision. It appeared from right beside her head, and collided with the dagger the crying girl was holding.

Clang!

But that wasn't the end. 

The metal slid back past Victarine's head, but in its stead, a boot came in. 

Thud!

It kicked the girl, who was trying to grab at Victarine. She slammed into the frame of the bed and grunted in pain.

Clang!

Grab!

Two distinct sounds could be heard behind Victarine. She looked behind and saw Savine holding a sword in one hand, and a rock in the other. Just past her, there were two kids, one holding a dagger and another holding a slingshot. The former was fearfully glancing at his shaking hand. 

Past them, there were a dozen other children, all holding a weapon of some sorts in their hand.

They looked hesitant, but one of them ran forward, holding a stick high in the air.
