Kapitel 123: A grim feeling

The lightning hit its target true, sending dust and smoke all over the room. With that, the world that seemed to consist of only him and the rodent was no more. Sounds and sights, existences of others became clear in his mind. 

"You imbecile!" Velisarmo was shouting beside him. "Do you realize what you just did?"

Borbatos ignored him. He knew what was coming.

Borbatos remembered how the mages that were supposed to protect the rodent all stood silently behind her back. They all showed no signs of casting any spells. Borbatos could even see Balint's eyes almost tracking the lightning as it traveled through the air, but he took no actions to stop it. 

Eliseline, too, only stared impassively at Borbatos as he threw the spell at the rodent.
